Chapter 6 A Fox As A Visitor

~2 Years Later~

The streets were as busy as ever as the crowd push and push along the crowded road.

The stalls were as noisy and the passerby were as cheerful as ever as they busy themselves in their lives.

At a certain inn, a handsome teenager was looking at the painting with a proud look on his face while being praised by the person beside him.

"Young Master Wei, your paintings are as beautiful as ever!" A fat middle-aged man said.

The handsome teenager fanned himself while smiling ever so slightly as he listened to the manager praise him to high heavens back and forth.

"It could move anyone just by looking at it, if only I had your talent then I would have already escaped from this life and just casually paint a painting and sell them off for how much gold I wanted and I don't have to worry about my life anymore since I could spend money like flowing water."

The manager of the Hua Restaurant praised the teenager, wagging his invisible tail, flattering the youth.

Though he was flattering the youth, his words were true when he said that the youth had talent when it comes to painting.

He admired the painting of Qi Xunmei that was hanging on the wall of the Hua Restaurant who had won the bid on buying Qi Xunmei's flower painting.

"Manager Li, you are exaggerating too much. My paintings are not that great, I can't even compare to Master Wu's paintings." Qi Xunmei humbly said.

"Kid, you are too humble for your own good. If I tell you that your paintings are good they are truly good! This old man's eyes had eyes for good paintings and I dare say that your paintings surpass even that of Master Wu. Besides that old man is already dead centuries ago so don't compare yourself to him again and again. You are only cursing yourself for an early death."

Manager Li patted Qi Xunmei's shoulders as he nod his head like he was really right.

Qi Xunmei could only smile wryly as he escaped from Manager Li's grasp.

"Then, I best be going now Manager Li."

And with that, Qi Xunmei ran with all her might away from that daydreaming old man.

"Tsk. He escaped again."

Manager Li rubbed his stubble as he watch Qi Xunmei's back getting farther and farther away.

Not very long after Qi Xunmei left, a man in his mid-twenties stood on the spot where Qi Xunmei was moments ago.

"This painting, who is the painter?" The man in green asked Manager Li who was still in a daze after Qi Xunmei left.

"R-Ruyi Wang!" Manager Li stuttered when he saw the smiling face of the fox in front of him.

"Manager Li, no need to stutter too much I was just asking."

Ruyi Wang warmly smiled.

"Greetings to Ruyi Wang!" Manager Li's sweat dropped when he heard what Ruyi Wang said.

"Manager Li, tell me who is the painter of this painting?"

Ruyi Wang tap the painting in front of him, seeing the painting Ruyi Wang was tapping on Manager Li could not help but swallow hard.

"A-Answering Ruyi Wang, the painter of this painting is Young Master Wei." Manager Li stuttered while asking for forgiveness from Qi Xunmei in his heart.

"Tell me, where does this Young Master Wei live?" Ruyi Wang's smile got even wider as he press for answers.

"Young Master Wei lives in the Feng estate, Ruyi Wang."

Manager Li could feel his back dampen as he watch Ruyi Wang's smile get even wider if possible.

He could only pray for Young Master Wei's future since Ruyi Wang is known for being mischievous and would send any painter that he fancy to his elder brother to paint, it would have been great if it's only his "Elder brother" but what's worrying is that his "Elder brother" is the current Emperor of the Zu Dynasty.

And every painter that the mischievous Ruyi Wang sent in was sent out beaten black and blue by the palace guards, well, every painter that he had sent in were all females so it's understandable.

'Young Master Wei, forgive me I had wronged you.'

Manager Li could not help but shed blood in his heart as he awaited his punishment from Young Master Wei if he were to know what he had just done. '

On the good side, Young Master Wei is not a woman so he should be fine right?'

On the other hand, Qi Xunmei who was lying comfortably on her bed loudly sneeze as she sat up.

"Did you catch a cold, Young Master?"

Wind quickly appeared on Qi Xunmei's side when he heard her sneeze.

"I'm fine, someone must be talking about me."

Qi Xunmei rubbed her nose sloppily as she stood up from her bed.

"Any news back home?"

"Yes, Young Master. I got Shadow's message not too long ago, this is what Shadow sent me."

Wind handed a small piece of paper to Qi Xunmei, she quickly opened it.

"Snakes. Gathering. Six months."

Qi Xunmei's eyebrows scrunch up as she burns the letter to ashes.

"It looks like those bastards are trying to gather up forces to attack Grandpa, I hope he is alright."

"I am sure that Sect Master is fine, he is after all Sect Master." Wind seriously said.

"I hope your right."

*knock* knock* knock*

Hearing the knock on the door, Wind immediately opened the door and found Feng Shaoping standing by the door.

"Uncle Feng, what are you doing here?"

"Little Wei, you have a visitor."

Feng Shaoping nervously stood outside while wiping the sweat gathering on his forehead.

Noticing Feng Shaoping's attitude, Qi Xunmei could not help but be suspicious and got on her guard as well as Wind who look at the person behind Feng Shaoping warily.

"Who is it, Uncle Feng?" Qi Xunmei asked gently.

She covertly caressed the flexible sword on her waist which was made into a belt circling her waist.

"It's Ruyi Wang."

Feng Shaoping could not help but swallow hard as he stood aside and let Qi Xunmei have a good look at the man behind him all this time.

"Hi."

A seemingly harmless fox stepped forward as he beamed warmly at Qi Xunmei and Wind who looked at him with a wide gaping mouth.

'Why the hell is this fox here?!'
