The Power of Love

It took Nyai Rasmi only a short time to take steps to protect her home from intruders. Even though Jagat was already asking her questions, she didn't care. She attacked Gendis with her glowing bluish treads.

Jagat also didn't think twice about coming to take Nyai Rasmi's blow. He stepped forward, using his body as a shield to protect Gendis, already ducking in fear.

"Don't be stupid, Jagat. She's not the Gendis, you know!"

Jagat, already feeling pain all over his body and confused, turned to Gendis. He was sure that Gendis had a look of fear and shock in her eyes. 

Gendis also shook her head with an expression that tried to convince him that she had nothing to do with the threat Nyai Rasmi was displaying.

There was one thing, however, that surprised him. Gendis had not called her name when she was frightened. He was surprised that although he was injured, Gendis didn't run to him like she did when Nini Gundhari attacked him.
