Shu Ying (ex-goddess)
Why the hell did they drag us to this backwater place? I just don't get it. Today, the nanny came and said there's going to be some shitty auction in some shitty hole, and we have to go because "we need to broaden our horizons." I wouldn't be surprised if this was just a ploy from "mommy" to get rid of my company. Hahaha, our mutual dislike only keeps growing, and judging by the fact that this is the third time they've dragged me lately to different sects to "broaden my horizons," "maybe my daughter will like something there." Hahaha, dream on, mommy. I'm not leaving the clan, even if it doesn't interest me personally, just to spite you. Believe me, mommy, "I will not like anywhere, there's no place better than home." Hahaha.
My thoughts simmered with irritation as we traveled. I looked out at the dull landscape, wondering why I had to be here. It was obvious to everyone that these trips were just excuses to get me out of her sight.
Sigh, in reality, everything is quite boring. Despite all my efforts, this child's body still grows slowly. The only thing I truly enjoyed was playing with spiritual energy. I've learned to shape it into bubbles and even give it the elementary property of fire. As a result, several "instructors" assigned to teach me how to work with spiritual energy ended up leaving, refusing to continue due to burns. One even fell into a coma. Hahaha, serves him right for laughing at my wonderful technique! I never thought I'd be forced to use such low-level energy though. Sigh!
Interestingly, the experiment with the triplets turned out quite well. I managed to awaken their ability to use ether, though it almost cost me my life. By the end of the ritual, I realized that my physical shell couldn't withstand another experiment like that—at least not until it healed, which would take about 100 years or until I reached near the maximum level for this plane of reality. Sigh, if I hadn't rushed and strengthened this body to at least Harmonization of Body and Mind, I could have done it without significant consequences. But there's no cure for regret, so we live as we do.
The triplets' parents were absolutely thrilled with their children and allowed them anything they wished, showering them with attention and love. This only exacerbated their already mischievous and unruly nature. As a result, the triplets created a level of chaos that even I hadn't imagined. While I might have played harmless pranks, they turned the entire clan into a veritable minefield.
You could be walking and suddenly hit something hard with your head, only for the obstacle to disappear immediately afterward. Or a bird might seem to poop on you from above, yet no bird would be found. At first, everyone thought it was somehow my doing, but given that these incidents occurred in places where I either hadn't been recently or wasn't allowed at all, it became clear it wasn't me. In the restricted areas of the clan, where even I couldn't go, the pranks continued.
Inside their parents' mansion, however, there were no problems whatsoever. Not a single trap or prank disturbed the peace there, and their parents never fell victim to the mischief that plagued the rest of the clan. How they managed this remains a mystery to me, likely forever.
As a result, the clan has become a bit jumpy. I don't know how they figured out that we were the cause of the chaos, but they somehow did. Consequently, they started shipping me and the triplets off as often as possible. Literally, as soon as we returned from one place, we were sent off to another. I didn't care much, but the girls were unhappy about not seeing their parents for long periods. As a result, people suffered during our travels too. Hahaha.
By the way, several mansions and one shop burned down during our time in the clan, but we had nothing to do with that ...! There were even rumors that I infected the triplets with bad luck. Pfft, fools. Bad luck, yeah right. Even in my past life, gods and goddesses handled that matter very carefully because it is so capricious and unpredictable.
Now we are sitting in a shuttle, flying to some backwater to "broaden our horizons." It's me, the sisters Nao Xiao, Nao Mei, and Nao Xue, and a nanny who doesn't really keep an eye on us, as long as I'm not playing with spiritual bubbles. Despite being two major realms higher, she still has to be careful, or her hair might catch fire from the processes going on in the bubbles! Hahaha, that's how the last nanny ended up quitting! She should have been paying more attention and not daydreaming while "watching" us!
Right now, I'm sitting here playing with bubbles that glimmer beautifully in the light, sometimes with flashes of flame, sometimes with sparks, and sometimes with a strange blue hue. I have no idea what's going on in there, and I don't care. I'm not about to bother with the mechanics of such low-level energy.
"This is so boring" Nao Mei sighed. "I miss home."
"You mean you miss causing trouble at home" I smirked.
"We're not the only ones causing trouble" Nao Xiao shot back. "It's not our fault people can't handle some little excitements."
The nanny, sitting a few rows ahead, pretended not to hear us, her focus entirely on the book she was reading. Occasionally, she'd glance back nervously whenever my bubbles flared up, but otherwise, she stayed out of our way.
"Why do they keep sending us to these places?" Nao Mei wondered aloud.
"Because they're hoping we'll find something that will make us behave, or stay" I said dryly. "Or maybe they just want a break from us."
Nao Mei rolled her eyes. "Well, it's not working."
"Where are we headed this time?" asked Nao Xiao.
"To an auction at some backward sect. I still don't get why everyone's so worked up about it, even the deputy head of our sect is flying there with us" Nao Mei said lazily, lying on her stomach on a cushion, moving a wooden cube left and right with her hands from a distance. This filled our nanny with a semi-primal fear since Nao Mei wasn't using spiritual energy but playing with ether energy instead. She loved it so much that she completely ignored learning to master spiritual energy.
"Father mentioned that some very rare things would be presented there, apparently we need them badly, and they're hard to come by" I added, then continued after a few seconds, "I was also curious why there's so much fuss about some auction. As far as I know, we're even bringing something to present at this auction." I'm really curious about these very rare things.
We traveled peacefully for the most part. Nao Xue had eaten something and was just sleeping. She never seemed to worry about our travels, finding satisfaction in sampling different cuisines everywhere we went.
I wonder when we'll start our "cultivation" training so we can grow stronger. After those instructors refused to work with me, no one else was assigned to us. Hmm, maybe Mommy had a hand in this. I should ask Father when I get a chance. My thoughts were interrupted by:
"Shu Ying, teach me how to make those bubbles!" Nao Xiao asked.
"Sure, why not!" I thought it could be fun. We'll spread bubbles of joy together, hahaha.
"Oh no" came a groan from the nanny. Hahaha, more bubbles mean more joy! And the fact that they have flames inside isn't that important!
