Just when Damian decided to inspect the area for clues, a snicker resounded in the enclosed space, giving him the answer that he was looking for.

Instantly, both Damian's mind and body tensed up in preparation for any surprise attacks, but strangely enough, even after turning around in a full circle, Damian failed to spot the speaker.

Just like the initial tunnel in the Incomplete Gate, the enclosed space also had artificial lighting, yet, all it revealed was absolute emptiness.

"Hmmm… I was hoping to get the Superhuman."

Once the voice resounded once more, Damian gave up on visual input by closing his eyes and focusing on the source of the voice. In the end…

"But it's a good pick nonetheless."

Damian managed to pinpoint the general source of the voice, but it was just an empty corner covered in shadows.
