See You Around the Multiverse

Magic glowed on Lia's hands.

"What are you doing?"

I looked as magic flowed from her hands, to the portal, which was slowly closing.

Lia: That way, she won't be alone.

The portal slowly closed.

Lia: Alright... time to get all of you home.

Lia started conjuring up a spell and a portal to Wanda's universe appeared. Wanda approached Lia.

Lia: Thanks for coming for me.

Wanda: Hey, don't thank me. Thank the kid.

Wanda smiled and gave Lia a handshake before walking to me.

Wanda: Hey.

"Hey."

Wanda: Look... sorry for not exactly being a great-

"Yeah... you weren't."

Wanda: I'm sorry?

"A great teacher? You weren't one."

Wanda weakly smiled, hurt.

"You weren't a great one...you were the best one. The best one I could have asked for."

I smiled, and Wanda smiled. Wanda patted me on the head.

Wanda: Good luck out there kid. And hey, if you need somewhere to stay in the multiverse...

Wanda winked at me, and I smiled at her as she walked into the portal.

Once Wanda was gone, I turned to Lia.

Lia: Well... time to bring you home.

Lia changed the portal from Wanda's home, to my home. I looked inside the portal to see my familiar looking room from the orphanage.

Lia: Come on, let's go.

Lia stepped in, and I stepped in.

Coming back home after all that felt really weird. It felt like home but... part of it didn't anymore.

I immediately went up to check on my brother Pietro, he was fast asleep. I went to check the clock, it was 1:43am. I gave my brother a kiss on his forehead and afterwards, Lia and I walked to my bedroom.

"Does he know?"

Lia: To him it was all just a dream... and I'm afraid this will be... to you as well.

I looked at Lia.

"What?"

Lia: I'm sorry Wanda, multiversal travel is a big thing. Even the strongest and biggest minds sometimes can't comprehend it.

"So none of this will seem real?"

Lia: It will be like a dream to you.

"But what about you?"

Lia looked at me, thought for a second, and spoke.

Lia: I remember all of them. Every universe I've been to, every earth I have walked, every variant of me I have seen, fought... and failed to save.

I walked to Lia and held her hand.

"I read in the Darkhold-"

Lia: You shouldn't have.

"Still doesn't change the fact I did. I read it. I saw a chapter dedicated to me. It said... it said it is my destiny to destroy the multiverse. To be the Harbinger of Chaos."

Lia sat down to reach my level.

"I'm scared. I'm scared that one day, I'll ruin and lose everything I love... I'm scared that I might just hurt the people I love."

Lia smiled weakly.

Lia: I was too... I was. That Wanda of ours... she lost her Vision too... didn't she?

I nodded yes. Lia wiped a tear.

Lia: I lost mine too... a long time ago. I lost the man I loved... and everyday I wish I could get him back. But then again, that's what made every moment with them so special isn't it? The fact that they happened once, and never can be replicated again... and that in the billions and billions of possibilities that could have happened... it happened that way... in that universe... to that version of us.

Lia fixed my hair to the side to see my face more clearly.

Lia: My life has been full of regrets Wanda, but meeting you isn't one of them.

Lia was holding back tears.

Lia: Who you are now... whoever you will grow to be... good or bad... bringer of peace of Harbinger of Chaos... I am proud of you Wanda. I am proud.

I started to cry. I jumped in and gave Lia a big hug.

"I love you."

Lia: I love you too.

After a while, the hug broke.

"Thanks for protecting me."

Lia: Thanks for saving my ass.

"Will I ever see you again?"

Lia smiled.

Lia: I hope... I hope so, yes yes.

I smiled, and went to my bed.

Lia: Goodnight, Wanda.

"Goodbye, Lia."

As soon as I lied down, my eyes got heavy and they soon closed and I feel fast asleep.
