Chapter 38 Dungeon dive

Once we arrived, Apael pulled me to the side. "Ama I can not go in there with you. If someone of our strength enters dungeons it can create problems. So watch your back. I will be right here waiting for you." She gave me a quick kiss on the lips before wishing me good luck.

"Come on Marog let us get started." I walked straight into the dungeon with him following me from behind. Walking inside the whole world changed. It became a bright, beautiful scenery. It gave me a peaceful vibe as if I was where I belonged. Marog looked uncomfortable as soon as we entered.

"Amadea don't you feel uncomfortable with this divine energy flowing around us?" He looked towards me as he tried to adjust to everything around us. I shook my head as I took a deep breath.

The air reminded me of the chaos energy from the other realm. If the same person created this place I should be able to see through it. I sent the chaos energy to my eyes and the world dissolved turning into a prison with demons chained to the walls. Runes were engraved on their bodies. Liquid chaos was leaking down their bodies forming the water we were seeing.

As I continued to watch, I saw chaos creatures start to form before walking towards us. I could not see any hostility from them as if they were resonating with the chaos inside of me.

"Watch out angels are coming. Get ready for a tough fight." Marog started to ready his weapon before I stopped him.

"Hold on something is not right." I let them get closer and they kneeled before us. Raising my hand I tried to absorb them into the chaos world inside of me and it flowed inside as if returning where it belonged.

Marog started to give me a strange look but I had more things to deal with and I hoped to find my answers would be further inside. Walking deeper inside I stopped using my chaossite to look at my surroundings enjoying all the nostalgic emotions welling inside.

Every time an "angel" appeared I would absorb it and continue forward. As I absorbed more of them they eventually stopped being formed as if someone was controlling how many there were. Marog was still on edge seeing these angels go straight into my body but I could see the admiration in his eyes.

We made it all the way down to the boss room where a giant angel was standing there wielding duel blades but unlike the others it did not kneel before me. It prepared its weapons ready to start a fight.

I sent chaos into my eyes to get a better look at its true form. It was a giant creature with four arms wielding blades. "Get ready Marog. This is going to be a hell of a fight."

Marog pulled his dagger and started to parry most of the attacks but he could not see the other two arms so cuts started to build up on his body causing him to grow frustrated.

I sent some chaos energy into his eyes to help him see the true form of the creature. Once his vision changed he took a few more hits before gaining his bearings and started to parry all the incoming attacks. As he kept his arms busy I started sending spells left and right. I didn't bother cloaking them since there would be no benefit.

As the fight continued on my body started to go into auto pilot as a memory started to come back to me. I saw a woman chaining demons to a wall as they screamed and begged to be let go. The fear was easily smelt. It was amazing.

"We did nothing. Please let us go lord." The demons all spoke echoing their pleas of innocence. But the woman just kept carving away and inscribing ruins onto their flesh.

"Correct you are innocent but your ancestors killed someone important to me. I waited generations to trap their beloved children here to use as weapons to limit their growth and make them suffer. Now through your suffering monsters will be born to deal with your people."

As if the woman could sense my presence she looked towards my direction before speaking. "Remember the pain they caused? Do you really want to free them and break this prison? If so do it and absorb the power to become stronger or keep these scum trapped and use them to grow an army. The choice is yours."

My world returned and I saw Marog still fighting. I had a decision to make. If I set them free I could strengthen myself with their power. But if I kept them trapped it would threaten the demons but I would have a chaos army farm.

While pondering the choice I started to help Marog with the fight getting slashes in as he played defense. As the battle carried on I came to a decision. "Marog keep him busy. I am going to put an end to this!"

I took off back to the chained-up demons releasing them from the chains. Once they were free they started to crumble into dust their power flowing into my body. As I gained more power I could feel my control over demons strengthen greatly.

The decision I made was attached to the fact that the love of my life is a demon and I wanted to do something for her. I wanted to become a great ruler and not use them and punish them for the past. I may not remember everything but if she came back as one it must mean they are not a total lost cause.

Once the last of their power settled inside of me the dungeon started to crumble so I started to make my way to the entrance waiting for Marog to join me. He showed up relatively quick since the monster fell apart once the dungeon started to fail.

I stopped sending chaos to his eyes as we left. There is a bit more I wanted to do here before we head to the next place. It might be time to start revealing my identity and make some changes that I feel would benefit them rather than exploit them.
