The door groaned as Caden pushed it open, revealing an unexpected sight that made them both freeze in place. The space beyond was vast, a cavernous expanse, circular in shape, framed by majestic arches and intricately decorated columns that seemed to glow from the ambient light reflecting off the smooth, polished stone walls. The sheer scale of the chamber was breathtaking.

The center of the room was dominated by a gaping chasm, surrounded by a sturdy, ornate metal railing, elaborately twisted into patterns reminiscent of intertwined vines. Caden and Elara cautiously approached the railing, their footsteps echoing slightly, and peered down. The void below them stretched down through at least ten visible floors, each one dimmer than the last until they blended into shadow. The spiral design, which wound its way down like the threads of a massive screw, seemed to go on forever.
