Spirit Gate

After another 2 hours, Meng Xiang finally wakes up. Last

night she fell asleep outside, with Tian Yi carrying her back to

her room.

She walks out of the room, straight to Tian Yi's room and

knocks, "Big Brother, are you in there?" She calls for him.

"I am in the living room." She hears his voice calling for her

downstairs.

"Coming!" She runs downstairs with excitement, thinking,

"Another day with Big Brother!"

She arrives at the living room to see a beautiful Big Sister,

sitting next to her Big Brother. She was the Big Sister

yesterday who was making weird sounds in her sleep.

"Good Morning Big Brother and… Senior!" She did not know

how to address her.

"You can call me Big Sister for now." She was just a little girl,

so Xuan Wanshan did not mind. When she grows up, she can

start calling her something else.

"Okay, Big Sister!" She nods.

"Meng Xiang, go wash your face and eat breakfast, we'll be

going to the Sect Mission Hall today." Tian Yi reminds her

like a Big Brother. Xuan Wanshan giggles in her heart seeing a

new aside from her disciple.

"Yes, Big Brother!" She runs off to wash her face.

A few minutes later, she comes back with a clean face and

neatly tied hair. She sits down in front of these two and eats

her breakfast.

Xuan Wanshan continues to teach Tian Yi about the Mortals

Realm. She taught him about the dangerous places to the best

food in town.

After Meng Xiang finishes, they finally head out to the

Mission Hall.

"Hey, it's been many hours already, are they not done yet?

"I don't believe they can play for this long! I'll go back to

challenge him again!" The one who dared to challenge him

knowing Xuan Wanshan was there steps up again!

"Good! Good Luck!" The disciple's cheers for him.

The brave challenger once again goes out and knocks on the

door.

"Look, he's challenging him again!"

The other disciple's notices and begins watching with

expectation.

He knocks on the door loudly, then waits silently.

"….."

Many minutes passed, and no one opened the door!

*Knock* *Knock*

He knocks on the door even louder.

"...…."

Even after a few more minutes, they still did not open the

door!

"Fuck you! Are you two making so many noises that you can't

even hear my door knocks?!?!" He curses in his heart.

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

This time, instead of knocking, he bangs on the door almost

making three holes!

A few moments later, "Fuck! They definitely made a

formation, keeping out all sounds from bothering them!" He

curses and walks back to the house.

"Oi, what happened? The door didn't even open." Someone

asks him.

"They made a sound silencing formation, making sure we

can't bother them anymore!" He gnashes his teeth in anger.

"What! So we are back to square one, waiting?!"

"Goddamit! I want to rush in, but I am too young to die!"

"No choice, we'll knock on their door every hour until they

finish!"

They all continue waiting, unaware that Tian Yi and Xuan

Wanshan had already left through the backyard, flying to the

Sect Mission Hall!

Outside the Sect Mission Hall, Three figures come down from

the sky, landing in front of the entrance. They walk into this

building with a large hall, and colored boards are hanging

everywhere. Sticking on these boards are many white papers

with words on them.

"Tian Yi, the Sect Mission Hall have six different levels of

Mission, each having their own difficulty. Level one is

generally for new disciples or anyone who just wants to fulfill

their monthly requirements. They don't give out much reward.

Level two are for these who wants to earn some money; it's

usually helping the town by killing nearby beasts or guarding

some merchants from bandits.

Level three are only for the Inner Court disciples and above

because it mostly involves Magic Beasts subjugation. Magic

Beasts are Beasts that Cultivate, making them more

dangerous.

Level four can only be accepted by Core disciples, mostly

involves killing very dangerous criminals.

Level 5 and 6 are only for Elders because they involve Devil

Cultivators and Evil Sects. Even Elders are required to do

Missions, but only once a Year." Xuan Wanshan explains the

main point of the Sect Mission Hall's missions, skipping the

pointless things.

"Then the colors are based on the levels?" Tian Yi asks.

"Yes, gray colors are level 1-2 Missions, green is 3-4 and red

are 5-6." She answers.

"Devil Cultivators and Evil Sects…." Tian Yi thinks to

himself.

Devil Cultivators, Cultivating Evil Techniques by killing

innocents. Evil Sects, even more, evil and operates as a Sect.

There have been many Evil Sects recorded in History, many of

them involving Cultivators enslaving Mortals and toying with

them. The most well-known one is the Mortal's Nightmare

Sect, kidnapping and enslaving more than 1 million Mortals!

Not only are they a big Sect, they even have many other

branches! Even to this day, they are still operating, with many

Cultivators hunting them down. Since the beginning of their

terrorizing, only three branches has ever been cleared out, with

the Main Sect location still unknown to this day!

Tian Yi and Xuan Wanshan walked around, followed by Meng

Xiang. Xuan Wanshan was following Tian Yi silently, letting

him choose his first Mission.

Tian Yi walked around, reading many of the Missions. Some

were stupid, but many were kind of interesting.

[Level 1, help someone clean their backyard, leaving no

weeds. 60 Copper and 5 Honor Point.] Honor Points can be

used to trade for Medicine and Cultivation Techniques in the

Sect.

[Level 2, help clean out the remains in Mother's Desire. 3

Silver and 31 Honor Point. Extra – Free one hour service for

one time.] It was a prostitution business, filled with mature

woman.

[Level 3, Someone needs a Fire True Breast Core. 1 Gold and

329 Honor Points.] A strong enough Magic Beast can grow a

Beast Core in their Dantain. Not only Cultivators have

Dantian, but even Magic Beasts also have them, which is how

they Cultivate. And if that Magic Beast have an Attribute in

their Spirit Power, it will mutate their Beast Core, making it

have an Element to it. Killing a True Qi Magic Beast might

have a True Beast Core.

[Level 4, Find and Kill the Blood Drinking Madman, last seen

two days ago in the Paradise Garden. Spirit Realm Expert

recommended. 365 Gold, 2,430 Honor Points, and 300

Ranking points] Ranking points are for Core Disciple's

ranking board.

[Level 5, Find and Kill the Devil Cultivator Jeng Jai, last seen

six days ago in the Phoenix's Continent's largest city,

Phoenix's City. A group of 6 is recommended. 15,000 Gold

and 150,000 Honor Points will be shared amongst the group.]

Some Missions can be cleared by in groups.

[Level 6, Find and wipe out the Mortal's Nightmare Sect!

Only go if you are at least a Spirit Lord, in a group of more

than 100. New rumors were saying it is near the Phoenix's

Continent, not confirmed, go at your own risk. Rewards not

determined.] Every other Sect will also have similar missions.

"….." Xuan Wanshan looks at Tian Yi, who has been staring at

the Level 6 Mission for a few minutes now.

"Are you interested in the Mortal's Nightmare Sect?" She can

tell that he was interested in why this Sect was being hunted

down by everybody.

"Yes, what have they done to be called Mortal's Nightmare? Is

it that bad?" He has never heard of them before.

"They're more than just bad; they're inhuman beings. Are you

sure you want to know? It might leave many bad tastes in your

mouth." She did not want him to hear such an ugly story…

"Yes. Meng Xiang, you don't have to listen to this, so I'll take

away your hearing for a bit, okay?" He did not want her to

hear it.

"Un." She nods.

"Sorry." He seals her hearing, making her deaf.

"Fine, tell me when you want me to stop." She sighs.

"This is what one of my Senior had told me before, who was

there to participate in their first branch raid. 'Mortal's

Nightmare Sect, one of the largest Evil Sect in the Mortals

Realm. The number of innocent people they've killed are

countless, just the corpses we've found so far was already

enough to build many mountains. The moment we stepped

inside their branch, was also the moment we stepped into hell.

The walls were painted in blood, leaving no part bloodless.

Decapitated heads were hanged on the ceiling, still dripping

wall. Their bodies covered with bloody cuts and holes, some

of them did not even have their heads or limbs attached. The

third floor, also the last, had a handmade pool filled with blood

and human organs. Before we've even reached the third floor,

most of us had already thrown up more than once. After seeing

the Devil Cultivators bathing in the pool of blood, drinking

human blood, and even eating the organs around, we've finally

gone mad and slaughtered every single Devil Cultivator,

He finally opens his eyes and unseals Meng Xiang's hearing.

"No, thank you, Master, for telling me." He said.

"Okay, then what kind of missions do you want?"

"Then… I'll take this one."

He takes a paper from one of the gray board and hands it to

Xuan Wanshan.

She reads in and becomes surprised, "This is… Are you sure?

It's in the Phoenix's Continent. You just got here, why go so

far for your first mission? And this kind of mission is…"

[Level 2, help set up a banquet for the Feng Family in the

Phoenix's Continent, you will be screened by the Family

before you actually start. 5 Gold and 150 Honor Points.] The

Feng Family, the Imperial Family of Phoenix's Continent, the

ranked 2nd strongest amongst the five big Continent.

"Because my plans for coming down here is to explore. Now

that I have a chance to go to the Phoenix's Continent, why

looks at him with a frown.

Still calm, he asks her.

you going to make your entire family come down here?"

"Master, remember my other Servant named Lao Bai? He's an

Immortal, and he can single-handedly deal with them." He

mentions Lao Bai, but he will not be bringing him into this. It

"Are you sure that nothing will go wrong? Is your servant

really that reliable? You promise me?" She makes him

promise her, knowing that he will not break it.

He looks at the mission paper and nods, "Accepted, you can

start your mission whenever you are ready."

"What?! Don't we have to get the Sect Master's approval if we

wanted to travel between Continents?" Xuan Wanshan can not

believe her ears, since when did an Elder have this much

authority?

"Yes, and the Sect Master has already approved it." He hands

her a Jade Slip, filled with information inside it.

She takes it and scans it with her Divine Sense, "The Disciple

named Tian Yi will be treated with the utmost respect! If you

dare to disrespect him, be ready to get slapped by the Ancestor

himself! Everything he asks will be approved, no questions

asked, but don't make it too obvious! After that, come report

to me!" She was shocked at the contents inside the Jade Slip!

So the Sect Master and her disciple had a connection already!

She looks at her disciple, wanting to know what else he has

hidden away from her.

Tian Yi notices her look and smiles, "See? I told you he would

agree." He did not peek inside the Jade Slip, but her shocked

face told him that he has agreed.

"….. Fine, when do you want to head out?" She gives up.

"Right now!"

"Now? What about preparations?" Is he ready to leave

already?

"Already done."

you want to leave already? What about your life as a

disciple?" She asks him.

"It's not like we're leaving forever. When I come back, I'll

live here peacefully for a while." When he gets back, he will

distance from here to the Phoenix's Continent is millions of

miles, making flying, not an option.

Jin Long Continent turns to chaos, waking up all the

Cultivators from their Cultivation!

The Gate is 20 meters tall, with extremely complex looking

engravings on it.

The Gate opens, and a shadow flies out, stopping right in front

of Tian Yi.

"A-a-a-a P-p-phoenix!" Xuan Wanshan screams in shock,

pointing at the 10 meters tall Phoenix sitting in front of Tian

Yi, with its head bowing, almost touching the floor.

The Phoenix's entire body was engulfed in an Azure Colored

Flame, with sharp Crystal Blue eyes!

"Master, how can I serve you today?" It talks to him with

Divine Sense, with a female's voice that sounded like

melodies to the ears.
