Chapter 27: Tommy's Arrival 2

'What I Wanted to know right away was how the old man was related to him. I heard he had a daughter somewhere but never heard of a son so how exactly were they related, he was too young to be the old man's friend.' I kept thinking.

" Do you want to ask me something, Melissa? You seem lost in thought." I looked at him, was it that obvious? Well, Liam and Hads always said I was an open book, so how was I able to keep this marriage a secret from Liam for two weeks?

" Hmm... I don't know if it's alright to ask." I commented.

" It's alright, go ahead and ask." He was smiling now, He had the cutest smile I'd ever seen. ' Do I just ask? Well if he said it's okay to ask then I will.' Why was I so relaxed talking to Tommy?

" Am just curious about how you are related to the old... sorry Mr Kelvin" I cursed inwardly at the fact that I almost called him old old man in his present. ' Not to self, stop calling him old all the time so you don't end up calling him that in his presence.

' Not like he's not old, anyways he's still an old man, a very old one at that' I tried to justify my mistake.

" Oh that, his my... dad" Mr Kelvin choked on his tea as he heard this and coughed slightly before glaring in Tommy's direction which Tommy grinned to. " You're not intending to deny me, are you?" He turned to Asher as he asked him. He was still glaring at Tommy, his eyes at that point could make me shiver in fear so why did Tommy find it so amusing? Everything Nancy said was very true he had a mischievous grin whenever he was going to say something to the old man.

" What? Your dad" I was totally confused and shocked. ' What the hell is he saying? I never saw anywhere he had a son ' I thought

Just at that moment, Tommy started laughing, I was still looking from Tommy to Asher and Tommy again. I couldn't understand why he was laughing.

"Enough with that Tom" came the old man's voice finally.

"Yes Dad" He answered with sarcasm all over his voice. " He's my dad's friend and his my mentor so he's practically like my dad, Is it okay to call you Lisa?" I nodded to his question, I was still shocked by his prank.

He looked at me for some time before saying " I didn't mean to get you worked up, you must have gotten heartbroken thinking your husband hid such an important matter from you." He explained.

" Not really I wasn't worked up, not that I care if he has a son." I tried to sound like I was talking about the weather. " I'll go to bed now." I stood up intending to go to my room.

" So early, it's Friday, Do you still have school tomorrow?" He pouted a little as he asked, his face looked so cute I smiled.

" Yes Tommy, my internship is in two weeks so have some programs to complete Hence we go to school on Saturdays but not for the whole day though just 10 AM to 12 PM" I answered smiling at him.

" Tsk... Thought we could have watched a movie or something without the old people." I couldn't help but laugh at the statement. I turned to see the old man glaring at both of us. While I felt uncomfortable with him glaring, Tommy seemed to be enjoying himself. I felt there was some sort of communication going on between them I was not understanding, but it's alright, maybe am better off not knowing.

" Let's go to the study Tommy" He stood up and stormed out of the room before Tommy could utter a word.

" Goodnight Lisa," he shouted as he rushed towards the old man " Come on, man, wait up" he shouted in the old man's direction laughing. There was something about these two I couldn't quite put a grasp on, they both acted like age mates or friends nothing like a mentor relationship.

I was about to walk to the kitchen when Nancy came out of the kitchen to clean up the dining table.

She smiled Immediately when she saw me " Did you enjoy your meal ma'am?" I smiled back at her " I did Nancy, thanks for the meal they were delicious. And I met the mysterious Tommy, Why didn't you tell me he was that young Nancy and good too?" I pouted as I folded my hand across my chest, She giggled at my expression " It would have spoilt the surprise you felt when you saw him, he's so handsome ma'am." She closed her eyes and hugged an imaginary Tommy which made me laugh, I laughed uncontrollably as she acted heartbroken that her imaginary Tommy would hug her, and I laughed even harder as she pretended a lady was trying to steal Tommy from her. I decided to play along with her and walked to her and tapped her forehead a little " Snap out of it young lady, he's mine." We looked at each other making faces for a while before we both started laughing again, I was laughing so hard I could hardly stand, and I crumbled on the ground.

" Oh ma'am, are you alright?" Her laughter disappeared immediately and she dashed to my side to make sure I was okay.

" Am okay Nancy, I just laughed so much I used all the energy in my legs."

"I shouldn't have made you laugh so much, am sorry ma'am" she apologised, if only she knew how much she just made me happy with her little jokes.

" No Nancy, thank you for making me laugh, lately it seems every bit of laughter in my life is just disappearing. Nancy studied me for a while and came closer " Is everything alright with you Lisa?" It was the first time she was calling me by my name, I looked at her surprised and then smiled before shaking my head, I could see she was truly concerned about me but how do I tell her that her boss false me into this marriage and am looking for a way to divorce him. Will she even understand? Will she be more loyal to me than the man who saved her life?
