Chapter 42: kissing her was inevitable.

Tommy hated his dad a lot, he was a womaniser and had gotten Tommy's mother pregnant after getting married to Sofia's mom.

He took responsibility for the pregnancy and made sure to send enough money to Tommy's mother to take care of him but Tommy still grew like he had no father which made him hate his dad. He didn't get any of the love a father was supposed to give to his child.

" Thanks, bruh. " That was all I could say.

He just smiled without saying anything else for another 5 minutes or so.

" Oh, that reminds me, you know she's gonna be doing her internship at A and A? " Tommy asked as I stood up to leave. I sat back down before replying " Yeah I do " with a nod.

" What are you gonna do about it? You're gonna allow her to work there? " He asked again. His concern about the girl he just met today intrigued me. I nodded to his question without saying a word.

" You do know they are gonna investigate her right? What if they find out she's married to you? "He asked again.

" They'll find out she's the old man's wife, not mine. " I said quietly.

Tommy thought for a while and nodded. 

" Does your uncle still take advantage of young girls doing internships there? " He asked deep in thought.

" Last time I investigated he still was. " I answered him. I hadn't stopped worrying about it ever since I found out she was going to be working there but I didn't know how to go about it without making it look like I was trying to control her life.

" And you still want to allow her to go there? " He asked quietly.

I was quiet, deep down in my heart I didn't want to. I can't even imagine what my uncles are capable of doing to young beautiful girls who go there for internships. They have done so many things to young girls but none of them dared report because of how powerful they were. Some were threatened with their families or loved ones but I couldn't help any of them since none of them were able to stand up for themselves and make a report on them. Not like I blame them though.

" I don't know how to stop her from going bruh," I said sighing deeply again.

" Let her come to your company then. " Tommy said simply like he wasn't telling me to do something serious. 

" What? " As good as that sounded it was still absurd.

" You have two companies here, you can take her in as Asher Kelvin as her husband or take her in Xavier Scott's company as her role model. " He explained 

" Let's talk about this tomorrow okay? We're gonna work out in the morning by 6:30 am, make sure you're there on time. " I stood up before he came up with another ridiculous idea.

" Come on man, 6: 30? Can't we just go work out by 8 a.m.? " He shouted as I was about to shut the door which made me laugh.

As much as I hated to admit it I like the fact that he cared so much for Melissa to even suggest she worked at my company. Tommy must like her cause even though he had the reputation of a womaniser like his father he never allowed it to interfere with his work.

I walked past Melissa's room and paused a little, our rooms were so close but she had never entered my room for any reason. It was only Tommy and Nancy that had entered my room cause I liked my space and hated being intruded but honestly, I wanted her to enter my room even once.

I stared at her door for a short while before going to my room, it didn't take long for me to fall asleep thinking about her.

I woke up at the usual time I woke up every day which was 5:30 am and did some work on my laptop before calling Tommy to meet up at the gym. I entered the gym and waited for about 10 minutes but Tommy wasn't coming

' The lazy ass is probably still in bed ' I thought with a smile. Waking up early was never Tommy's forte, he loved sleeping and wouldn't wake unless it was 7 am. 

I was about to about to call Tommy again when I saw a figure approaching, I could never miss her footsteps. She was entering the gym, I contemplated going back into the gym but it was like I was paralyzed, her head came crashing into my chest before I knew it.

" Ouch " Came her little cry as she looked up. Immediately she saw me her eyes widened and she moved back immediately putting a very reasonable amount of space between us.

' It's not like I was gonna eat you.' I thought annoyed.

"Am... so... sorry sir" She stammered, I guess the annoyance must have shown on my face. " Am sorry again, I meant Mr Kelvin" She apologised again, she looked calm as always but I could tell she was nervous whenever she was around me, unlike the cheerful way she was around Nancy or even Tommy. She looked into my eyes as she apologised and suddenly the only thing I could feel was my heart beating so much for her. I fought with the urge of pulling her into my arms, She stared at me and I stared back, neither of us said a word, we just stared at each other like our eyes were telling each other stories neither of us dared tell the other.

She tilted her head slightly without removing her gaze from me like she was trying to understand something and I just stared at her. She suddenly took a slow step towards me, then another. My heart was beating so loud with every step she took, I could hear my heartbeat in my ears loudly. I wanted her to come even closer and she took yet another step and came standing right in front of me. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen, I felt the urge to just touch her beautiful face and without thinking I moved my hand slowly to touch her face. I moved my hand slowly, I knew if my hand touched her kissing her was inevitable yet I couldn't stop my hand from moving to her face and just when my hand was almost on her face...

" Dude, did you wait long?" Came Tommy's voice and I came back to my senses immediately jerking my hand away and turning toward Tommy.

" Go on, I'll join you later " I replied before walking away immediately, not waiting for Tommy to say anything. He must have been so confused because I had insisted he join me.

I walked directly to the kitchen and picked a bottle of water from the refrigerator. I gulped it all down, rested my back slightly at the door and closed my eyes placing a hand on my chest.

" Good morning sir. " I opened my eyes immediately to see Nancy smiling at me, I couldn't help but smile back. I had completely forgotten Nancy would be in the kitchen making breakfast with her assistant cook.

" Good morning Nancy. " I replied with a nod.
