CHAPTER 7

Inside the drawing-room where the door was opened, the Duke and Duchess of Ludwig dressed comfortably. We were having tea. There was a teacup on the seat opposite, apparently mine as well.

"Greetings to Duke and the Duchess. Did you have a comfortable night?"

"Thanks to you, I slept well. You must have been tired yesterday, but I'm worried that you're too tired to come to say greetings in the morning."

"Thanks to all the people at the Duke's family, I was able to rest comfortably. Thank you."

The Duke of Ludwig's expression was a little stiff, but the Duchess accepted my greeting with a kind expression. I could naturally sit opposite them and get a cup of warm tea. In the midst of a casual conversation, they didn't ask why i didn't come with Killian or what my relationship with Killian.

'Well, seeing that you only prepared my teacup...'

It must have already been reported that he did not sleep in the bride's room yesterday. They would have no reason to bring up unfavorable things against them. Instead, the duke asked a question that seemed to attack me secretly.

"I know very well that the Count has raised you so precious and nicely. But I wonder if you know what you have to do as a hostess of an aristocratic family. Oh, of course, you can learn from now on."

It's really when I read the original story that it shines through. If I had been asked this question without thinking, I would have been embarrassed.

"I can manage cash receipts and file organization. Of course, there will be a Duke method, so if you teach me, I will master it as soon as possible."

"...I guess the Count definitely taught you that."

It was as if I had come to steal his family's financial records and internal documents.

"If I'm not trustworthy, teach me something else. I'll do my best to learn."

"Hmm."

The Duke of Ludwig coughed in vain, and the Duchess patted his side and glanced at him. Apparently, the Duchess would be more sensible than the Duke. The wife smiled softly on behalf of her husband.

"I'm glad you've learned about cash receipts and document organization. Can you help me with my work in 2 weeks? The work won't be too difficult. If you want to rest a little more, you can start next month."

"Do we need to wait until two weeks later? I don't have anything to do anyway, but if you can leave it to me today, I'll do my best."

Then she added, "Oh, my God."

"Oh, I guess the madam needs time to adjust the work, too. Then..... Call me whenever you need it."

They probably have to leave out the documents that shouldn't be visible to me. However, the duke and his wife did not show off like that in front of me like as veterans.

"I'm not bad enough to make our daughter-in-law work as soon as she gets married. You'll need time to prepare the things you need to stay here."

Thank you for your consideration."

"By the time you've said it, tell me if you need anything."

"So.... If you don't mind, can you call some tailor from the boutique dress?"

For a moment, their eyes widened as if they were surprised, and then they smiled and nodded nervously. Perhaps as soon as I got married, they thought I was going to order an expensive dress from the Duke property.

'Yes, it's good to have such low expectations. That way, you'll rate me higher later.'

With some insidious thoughts, I didn't say why I wanted to call the tailor.

"And since the duke's mansion is so large, I think I need to figure out the structure of the duke's mansion first. Can you please attach someone to show me the mansion?"

"That's what Killian must do..."

"Killian is busy."

I didn't want to run into Killian as much as I could, so I didn't need his guidance. It's something he wouldn't even say he would do in the first place. The Duchess and his wife immediately called the butler when they realized that they had said something ridiculous.

"This is the butler Philip. Philip knows best about the inside of the mansion, so be guided by Philip."

Philip greeted Duchess's introduction politely with a smile on his face.

"My name is Philip Clement. Please call me Philip. It's an honor to have a new family member of the Rudwig family."

"Nice to meet you, Philip. But if you're a duke's butler, you'll must be very busy, I'm worried that I'm taking your time for nothing. I can just let the maid guide me..."

"Instead of Killian? I can't just ship a maid in place of Killian."

Do they feel sorry for me? That would be nice.

"If that's the case, I'll accept your favor with gratitude."

I greeted the duke and the duchess and immediately followed Philip. It would be much more fun to look around the mansion than sit in a room with nothing to do. And the choice was outstanding.

"This is the 'Sistine Hall,' a hall that displays art collections from the time of Count Ludwig. We change the exhibits once a month."

Famous paintings were hung on all sides of the room, and statues were placed in the middle.

'Does that mean that there is an art museum at home where a different exhibition is held every month? That's great.'

In my previous life, I couldn't go to the city art museum because I didn't have time or even paid for it, but here you can see such high-quality artworks for free! When I thought about it, my heart was pounding even though not all of these paintings or statues were mine.

"Does it matter whenever you come and see it? Do I need to get someone's permission?"

"The Duke of Ludwick's family can come in at any time."

It will include Lizzy, but it's not my business. Anyway, I secured a place to visit when I was bored. But there were many other interesting places.

"This is the jewelry exhibition room. The duke's jewelry is on display, and during important parties, the Duke's family sometimes uses the jewelry here. Unlike Sistin Hall, you must have permission from the Duke or Duchess to enter and exit here."

There's a room where the jewels are flashing that so beautiful enough to turn your eyes,

"This is the place to manage weapons and armor. It's the place where the duke and the two masters usually come. The weapons kept here were made by all the famous craftsmen."

At a glance, there's was a room full of extraordinary blades,

"This is the Grand Library, the heart of duke."

There was also a huge library.

'It will take a long time to look around all of this.'

As there were more things to enjoy, expectations rose, and I became happy. Even if I tried to manage my expression, the corners of my mouth kept going up, so I think I just followed her with a smile.

"The house is wide, so it's impossible to look around all within a day. Let's look around here today, and I'll show you more places the day after tomorrow."

"Thank you, Philip. I didn't even know the time was passing because Philip's your voice and the way you speaking skills were so good."

"I'm flattered."

Her compliment to Philip was not out of favor or thoughtfulness but out of sincerity. Of course, he was wary of me, but he didn't show any of that and treated me respectfully. Besides, he didn't seem to talk much, but I felt like I was being tutored with tweezers because he was able to pick out the important points of each room and tell them about it. After a pleasant morning, thanks to Philip, I decided to follow him back to my room. Philip even pointed out the route as a new route and gave a solid lecture until the end.

"This is the 'convention room.' It's a great place to see the beauty of the courtyard. His Excellency the Duke also enjoys walking around here and conversing with him."

"Wow.... It's worth it. It's so beautiful."

The Duke of Ludwig, as well as the people of the mansion, and everything was beautiful, and everything was pleasing to the eye.

'It was always a pity that I couldn't travel abroad in my previous life, but I didn't know that I would be compensated like this after I died.'

It would not have been more exciting to visit the ancient city of Europe. It is much more interesting to see the castle where real people live than to peek at the old time when the dust has settled after being stuffed.

'Is it so pretty.'

Arch-shaped shadows colored the floor and walls, and the ivy, whose new leaves began to sprout, climbed up the pillar. Beyond the railing, I could see the well-managed pavilion. Lizzie, Cliff, and Killian drinking tea at the Balconi across the street...

"Oh, well, that is, they often have tea at this hour, and oh, it seems that they are having  it with Miss Lizzy by chance today."

Philip, who had his eyes on it at the same time as I did, was quite embarrassed, unlike his calmness so far.

'Well, it's embarrassing to see that the groom who left the bride alone having tea with another woman.'

Since I'm known as a bad girl, Philip will think that I'm going to make trouble right now. There was also a scene in the original where Edith witnessed that, and Edith glared at them horribly until Killian and Lizzy looked at her. Naturally, all she did was get Killian's contemptuous gaze. But I was already overwhelmed with happiness just by seeing the Duke' wealth and his noble tastes.

"Well, I see. By the way, when spring is ripe, the garden will be more worth seeing."

"That. That's right."

"I think I will come here often in the future. Then, shall we keep going?"

"Yes? Oh yeah, let's go."

I smiled and followed Philip. His eyes looking at me looked quite sad for some reason, but it must be my imagination, right? Because the person he feels sorry for is Killian, not me.
