Upon entering Zhen Tian City, the Great Zhou Empire had already arranged accommodations for each sect.
After finding their assigned residence, Elder Xie dismissed the other disciples, leaving only Li Xun behind.
"Elder, is there something you need?" Li Xun asked curiously.
"There are indeed a few things I must caution you about," Elder Xie replied solemnly. He extended his spiritual sense to cover an area of several hundred meters, blocking any outside detection, before continuing, "Nephew Li, someone will likely invite you for a meeting soon. You may accept the invitation, but once there, you must maintain your stance."
"Do not easily reveal your position."
"Oh?"
Li Xun raised an eyebrow, quickly grasping the meaning behind Elder Xie's words.
In the mortal world, there was a constant struggle for power. In a cultivation world, such struggles were even fiercer. The stronger one's power, the higher their status—and the more resources they controlled.
More resources meant a greater chance to ascend even higher.
Without a doubt, the person Elder Xie referred to was likely someone from the Great Zhou royal family. After all, Li Xun's reputation had spread far and wide by now.
A young prodigy like him was certainly qualified to be drawn into their fold.
"In the Great Zhou Empire, the Crown Prince and the Third Princess are the most competitive. They're the only two with the potential to ascend to the throne of the Emperor," Elder Xie explained.
"Neither of them is easy to deal with. You must be extremely cautious, Nephew Li!"
"Understood," Li Xun nodded.
Just as he finished speaking, a servant in blue robes approached from a distance.
Seeing the newcomer, Li Xun and Elder Xie exchanged a glance, both thinking the same thing: They've come.
"Young Master Li Xun, my lord has sent for you," the servant said with a slight bow.
"Lead the way."
Thanks to Elder Xie's earlier advice, Li Xun didn't hesitate. He nodded and followed the servant.
As for the identity of the servant's master, Li Xun didn't bother to ask. He would know soon enough.
Under the servant's guidance, Li Xun reached the outskirts of the residence, where a jade carriage awaited him. After boarding, they traveled for about two quarters of an hour before stopping in front of a towering, majestic mansion.
Li Xun disembarked and surveyed the mansion. Divine light soared into the sky, and countless symbols glimmered in midair.
It was protected by a formation of immense power. If activated, it could likely kill even a Life and Death Realm expert!
Narrowing his eyes slightly, Li Xun deduced that the master of this mansion must hold a significant status. Even if it wasn't the Crown Prince as Elder Xie had suggested, it would surely be the Third Princess.
"Young Master Li, please follow me," the blue-robed servant said respectfully, leading the way.
Li Xun followed, walking down several long corridors until they arrived at a vast lake. In the center of the lake stood a palace towering dozens of meters high, faint sounds of laughter and conversation emanating from within.
"My lord is inside. I am of low status and cannot escort you further. Please forgive me," the servant said apologetically, bowing before turning to leave.
Li Xun glanced at the retreating figure, then looked toward the palace in the center of the lake. Just as he was about to step forward, a familiar voice echoed in his mind.
[Ding! Congratulations, Host, a Purple-Level investable person has been discovered. Invest one Enlightenment Pill to receive a Mind-Clarity Bodhi Seed (High-Grade Dao Weapon)!]
"Hm?" Li Xun's expression changed.
After nearly a month of silence, the system had finally reactivated—and with a surprise no less!
A Purple-Level investment!
Since acquiring the system, he had only encountered two Purple-Level opportunities: one with Jiang Taixuan and one with Qin Xueyi. Beyond those two, he had seen none.
Now, unexpectedly, here was the third.
And it offered a High-Grade Dao Weapon!
A Dao Weapon was an entire level above a Spiritual Treasure. If he remembered correctly, the Profound Sun Sect had only one High-Grade Dao Weapon as its sect-protecting treasure.
"Good thing I didn't consume the Enlightenment Pill earlier. Otherwise, I'd have missed this Purple-Level opportunity today," Li Xun thought, feeling a surge of joy.
He didn't yet know the full utility of the Mind-Clarity Bodhi Seed, but one thing was certain: anything labeled a Dao Weapon was extraordinary.
No matter how valuable the Enlightenment Pill was, it couldn't compare to a Dao Weapon!
With that thought in mind, Li Xun felt an unusual excitement brewing within him.
He glanced toward the distant palace.
Without a doubt, the Purple-Level investment target identified by the system must be inside.
Inside the Palace
The air was thick with ethereal mist, clouds, and vibrant hues, creating a scene akin to a celestial paradise.
Within, over a dozen figures were seated, chatting and laughing harmoniously.
At the head of a jade table sat a towering, armored figure with a powerful build. He lifted a jade cup to his lips, taking a light sip before speaking with a chuckle:
"Has Profound Sun Sect's Fellow Daoist Li Xun not arrived yet?"
"Your Highness, the Crown Prince, someone has already been sent to invite him. He should be here shortly," a voice replied softly.
"I've heard that this Li Xun, supposedly, has only been cultivating for two years yet has already reached the mid-stage of the Profound Elixir Realm. I wonder if the rumors are true—or if Profound Sun Sect raised this 'genius' with pills," a young figure commented coolly.
Divine light radiated faintly around him, but his words carried a hint of envy.
Though he was under twenty-five, he had been cultivating for over a decade. He had joined the Xuan Yin Sect as a child, yet even now, he had only reached the early stage of the Profound Elixir Realm.
He often regarded himself as a genius.
But with the emergence of Li Xun, his pride had been utterly crushed. He had spent over ten years to reach his current level, while someone else had done more in just two years.
Compared to Li Xun, his talents seemed almost mediocre.
"The rumors don't stop there," another interjected. "They say that a little over a month ago, this Fellow Daoist Li Xun slew three Otherworldly Demons. You know, those beings haven't appeared in the cultivation world for millions of years."
"And yet, when they did, they fell in Profound Sun Sect's territory—and were defeated by Li Xun. If he arrives, we must ask him what those demons looked like," the armored figure said with meaningful intent.
Among the gathered crowd, most didn't believe the story of Li Xun slaying Otherworldly Demons.
Those creatures had vanished for so long that their existence was now closer to myth.
The idea of their sudden reappearance, only to conveniently fall to a Profound Sun Sect disciple, felt more like propaganda.
It wasn't uncommon for sects to embellish the deeds of their promising disciples. Almost every sect did it. But Profound Sun Sect, they felt, had gone overboard.
Claiming Otherworldly Demons to boost their disciple's fame? What next?
"In my opinion, Li Xun's reputation is nothing more than an empty title," the young Xuan Yin Sect member remarked, shaking his head with disdain.
But just as his words fell, a sudden presence filled the hall.
A figure clad in faintly glowing purple robes appeared without warning.
"If my reputation is empty, then what does that make you?"
