As soon as I arrived, I rushed to my classroom on the first floor. When I arrived, Professor Gabriella of the Lawrence House was writing her name down on the board, so I decided to tiptoe quietly into the classroom while her back was turned. The moment I took my seat a student spoke up.
"Professor Gabriella, one of your students has just arrived late to your class," said Rosalina of the Petaluma House, the class representative.
"I appreciate that class representative, I will not tolerate any student of mine showing up late, but since this is the first week of college I will let it slide for now. Now then state your name and don't be late for my class again!" said Professor Gabriella, looking patiently at me.
"Of course professor, my name is Henry of the Eliwood House and I'm also a member of the StarShip History Guild," I replied before bowing and taking my seat.
On the bright side I got off with just a warning. Thankfully my Bio Science class is only on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's from 9 am to 10:50 am. I'll just have to leave earlier next time.
"It's no big deal," I said to myself as I took a moment to reflect.
"Professor Gabriella, I'll be on time next time, I promise," I accidentally blurted that out while she was lecturing us.
The professor gave me a stern look and replied, "I hope so. We don't want to miss any important information now do we?" Professor Gabriella asked and then she continued with the lecture while making eye contact with each student as if to emphasize her point.
"Alright class, now that everyone is here, I am going to pass out the syllabus. While I'm doing that I would like each of you to tell the class something interesting about yourself, starting with the front row," said Professor Gabriella.
The class representative stood up right away, "Hello class, my name is Rosalina of the Petaluma House and I'm a member of the Herbalist Survival Guild. I'm also passionate about nature and protecting the environment. I believe we all need to do our part if we wish to bring about change in our surrounding environment. My grandmother, and my parents taught me how to use natural herbs to create natural remedies for everyday ailments," said Rosalina of the Petaluma House as she smiled at the class and bowed to the professor before taking her seat.
Using the application on the Devilan Notebook the description it read, "The Petaluma House Crest, a haven for herbalists, symbolizes the profound relationship between mortals and nature. At the core of the emblem is a hand-illustrated botanical motif, an homage to the wild herbs that the house's residents are adept at identifying. The design gently intertwines the flora, signifying the interconnectedness of all living things, and the deep knowledge of herbalism treasured within the House's walls. It's a constant reminder of the noble calling each Petaluma denizen has heeded—the pursuit of understanding, harnessing, and respectful use of nature's bounty for the betterment of all."
As soon as Professor Gabriella of the Lawrence House finished passing out the syllabus, she took her seat, and the next student introduced herself.
"What's up everyone! I'm Jessibelle of the Ramirez House, and I'm a member of the Research and Development Guild. Sitting right next to me is my evil twin brother. I'm just messing with you, he's not evil but he is the uglier looking twin out of us. You see I made a joke because we are twins you know. I almost forgot these adorable looking dolls that I enjoy making. Wait a minute I have one of them here with me inside my backpack," said Jessibelle of the Ramirez House as she opened up her backpack, and pulled out what was a very creepy looking doll.
"She is one of my favorite dolls and she comes from my personal collection that I have made myself. Her name is Lilith which originated from folklore and her name is derived from a class of mesopotamian demons. Isn't she just the cutest thing that you have ever seen? What a lovely name that is, wouldn't you agree?" asked Jessibelle as she held up the doll in her hand for everyone to admire.
During her conversation I read the online article as she continued to talk, "The Ramirez House Crest, renowned for their dedication to the pursuit of knowledge and truth, carries a crest that symbolizes their unwavering commitment to science and discovery. The emblem, a microscope crossed with a magnifying glass, represents their firm roots in investigative research and forensics. The open book beneath the emblem signifies the house's profound respect for education, reflecting their belief in the power of knowledge to unveil hidden truths. Members of the Ramirez House are known to be meticulous, tenacious, and inquisitive, traits that align with the ethos of their chosen iconography. They are the CSI agents, researchers, and pioneers in their field, always seeking to push the boundaries of what is known, just as their house crest suggests".
Yeah it was definitely the most unique doll I've ever seen, but it was far from what I would call cute.
"Yes the doll is quite interesting," said the Professor hesitantly as she pointed to the next student to stand up and introduce themselves to the class.
"Hello class. The name's James of the Ramirez House, and I'm a member of the Research and Development Guild. You've already met my evil twin sister, Jessibelle. Unlike my sister I don't make creepy looking dolls, instead I buy these amazing things that we enjoy wearing. I purchased this black nail polish, and that lovely skull bow my sister enjoys wearing from the Black Sparrow Gothic Store," said James of the Ramirez House as he smiled with a creepy looking smile.
"Next person please," said Professor Gabriella.
"Awesome! That means I'm up next. Hello everyone I'm Claire of the Underwood House, and I'm a member of the Majestic Writers Guild. I enjoy being left alone to read my romance novel, and if you like, I can tell you all about the romance novels that I have written in my free time," said Claire of the Underwood House as she stood up.
After being drawn into her introduction I silently read the House Crest, "The Underwood House Crest, renowned throughout our hallowed halls, is symbolized by the majestic quill, a beacon of creativity and eloquence. This House is a sanctuary for writers, a place where words come alive and stories unfold in the most enchanting ways. Its members, armed with their pens and notebooks, weave tales that could bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. They are indeed the dreamers, visionaries who craft worlds out of words, and illustrators who paint pictures with their prose. In every stroke and every letter, they embody the spirit of the Underwood House - a testament to the power of imagination and the magic of storytelling."
"I enjoyed reading this tragic romance novel. I'll tell you what it's about. In the heartrending saga of "Captain Daniela Sky Pirate," the clouds bear witness to a tale of a tragic love story about vengeance sworn. On the deck of the grand Shy Ship 'Mirage,' Captain Daniela, a daring sky pirate, and her unwavering crew navigate through tempestuous heavens and enigmatic Sky Islands. Comrades in arms and heart, her dearest friend and second-in-command weathers these adventures by her side until a cruel twist of fate rips her away, turning their high-flying escapade into a quest for revenge. The narrative resonates with unspoken promises and unfulfilled dreams, underlining Daniela's journey not just as a rebel against oppressive powers, but as a woman grappling with loss. A second blow awaits in the form of her beloved's tragic demise followed by the destruction of her hometown- a cruel jest played by the hands of corrupt government officials. Each loss etches a deeper resolve in Daniela's heart, fueling her pursuit for both justice and the sweet taste of revenge. This captivating tale transforms from a thrilling aerial odyssey into a poignant tragedy, weaving together threads of love, loss, and revenge, leaving readers poised on the edge of their seats for the next chapter of Captain Daniela's journey." Claire said before being cut off.
"Okay that sounds great. I hope to read that one in the near future," Professor Gabriella said as she cut off Claire of the Underwood House mid way before she could finish that thought.
"Greetings class, I'm Riviera of the Athens House, and I'm a member of the Military Police Guild. Both of my parents serve as Military Police Officers in Brightwood. They taught me everything I know about honor, and protecting those who can't protect themselves. That is why I'm going to college in order to learn how to be a cop just like my parents," said Riviera of the Athens House and bowed to the teacher before taking her seat.
The Athena House seemed quite interesting and while she spoke I read about their House Crest online, "The Athens House crest bears a symbol of strength and vigilance, perfectly befitting the House of Military Police. At its heart resides a majestic owl, symbolizing wisdom, with olive branches on either side, representing peace - a poignant reminder of the delicate balance between defense and diplomacy to maintain security. The crest, rendered in vibrant blues and silvers, further echoes the colors of the night, an ode to the ceaseless vigil kept by the members of this House to ensure the safety of their realm."
"That's sweet it sounds like you really respect what your parents do and even respect the type of work that they do, Alright who's up next?" asked the Professor.
"Hello I'm Alyson of the Stanfield House, and I'm a member of the Historical Film Guild. I enjoy reading education materials and watching educational documentaries. I also possess photo memory which I use on a regular basis," said Alyson of the Stanfield House then the next student began to introduce themselves.
Alyson continued to explain her House Crest while she talked. I was busy reading over the House Crest as I made myself familiar with the info available online, "The Stanfield House Crest, with its distinguished crest, stands as a beacon of historical knowledge. The crest, bearing the symbol of an open book, represents the House's longstanding commitment to preserving and documenting history. The quill that delicately intersects the book symbolizes the power of the written word in capturing the essence of historical events, while the film reel wrapped around the crest pays homage to the House's affinity for documentaries. The Stanfield House, therefore, is not just a physical entity; it's a living, breathing repository of historical narratives, an enduring testament to the power of knowledge, and a proud tribute to the art of documentary filmmaking.
"Okay, we still have a few more students left who need to introduce themselves. Alright, who's up next?" asked Professor Gabriella.
"Greetings everyone, the name is Henry of the Eliwood House, and I'm a member of the StarShip History Guild. My Household and I moved away 8 years ago after the death of my dear father. I returned to Brightwood 2 months ago. While my mother and sister will return later this month. Oh! I almost forgot I'm the oldest in my family and I have a younger sister named Erica of the Eliwood House who is attending middle school," I explained before bowing to the teacher and taking my seat.
"I hope you didn't forget about little ol' me, the name's Kaitlyn of the Robinson House, and I'm a member of the Dream Insurgent Guild. I'm sort of a daydreamer who dreams of a better future for tomorrow. I can't forget my favorite subject is history class," said Kaitlyn of the Robinson House as she finished talking as she bowed before taking her seat.
Kaitlyn seemed quite eager to explain herself to the class and during that time I read the info provided online about her House Crest, "The Robinson House Crest has a telescope reaching out towards the stars, and is more than just a symbol - it is a testament, a proclamation of their identity as dreamers. Bearing the motto 'Per aspera ad astra' - 'through hardships to the stars', it represents their unwavering spirit, their commitment to gaze beyond the immediate and mundane, daring to dream of unfathomable horizons. This house is not merely a structure of bricks and mortar, but a haven of dreamers. Its walls reverberate with ideas, its rooms teem with innovation, and its corridors echo with the unyielding determination of its inhabitants."
"Alright class now that you have had a chance to get to know everyone, I would like you to break up into teams for your first class assignment," said Professor Gabriella as she passed out our class assignment.
I quickly grabbed Alyson, and two other students. We started right away on the class assignment, and somehow we managed to finish the assignment before class had ended.
"Hey Alyson wait up, would you like to join me for lunch in the cafeteria?" I asked.
"Yeah, of course. I was wondering, do you have anything planned for today?" asked Alyson.
"Well I do have one class left today, Universe History with Professor Harmonica of the Lawrence House at 1 pm. After that I'm free for the rest of the day," I said as we walked towards the cafeteria.
