Talk about feeling like sh*t. I was woozy and the soreness throbbing in my chest certainly wasn't heartache. I groaned, doing a quick mental recap of what happened. I had come to Venice and shortly after Linus intercepted the communication between the Washington CIA and New York office. The message stated that Director Vance would follow Daxia to Venice and catch him either dead or alive.


I had arrived in Venice under the Daxia alias to handle an art deal for one of the mafia families. This had always been the norm with the Daxia identity. Zoya had insisted she wanted to go but with Captain Ace and Arran investigating the Ryuu Group, I thought it was better for her to remain behind and deal with those two.


What irked me was that Vance had not called me to tell me about his mission. I wondered if he would dare or what was his plan. The waiting was killing me but I chose to be patient and see what he had planned.
