I stood there, frozen, not knowing what to do. If I ran, I would have to explain something to Mrs. Nanny: why I did or why I had to leave. If I stayed, that meant I had to act civil to Keith. To Keith! Wait… what if he was the one that was stalking me? He would have already known where I lived. Although I didn’t have proof anyone was stalking me. Would he answer that type of question honestly? I doubt that. There was no honest bone in his six-foot frame to begin with. How did he turn out that way when Mrs. Nanny was so sweet?
“I am sorry for knocking you down.” Keith started as I was analyzing everything he was saying. “That’s a pretty name.” He was acting as if he didn’t know me. It might have been better for his mother that we did. Maybe I was overthinking this whole thing. I gave him a smile. “I’m Keith.” He held out his hand as I shook it but hesitantly.
