Chapter 13: Look Who We Met Here!

*Ricci family’s eating room—8:12 PM, three weeks later*

The Ricci family and Daisy were having dinner. For now, though, it was quite redundant to say “the Ricci family and Daisy”, considering that Daisy was considered family by Giorgio, the patriarch. She may not be the family’s most important, trusted, or liked member, but, as Giorgio himself put it:

“Every family has one of these.”

That made Daisy feel honestly belonged somewhere. She already felt that with the sense of camaraderie from when she worked as a police officer. But not as grandiose as now, where she felt like she was a sister to two brothers and a daughter to an old man. It was such a growing love that her first payment was doubled.
