Mara's Remnant Image

"I didn't ask."

"Does he want me to go to the Buddhist hall or wait in the front hall?"

This was expected by Yu Yan, so he changed the question.

In the past, when the abbot summoned him for any business, he always asked the monks in the temple to go to these two places.

After all, it was not only Yu Yan who didn't dare to go to the Buddha's residence, but most of monks also did not dare to go.

Walking on a foot-wide narrow road, as long as the wind blows a bit hard, one might fall to his death, who can stand such excitement?

Monk Shen Xing shook his head.

"No, master, he asked you to go and worship the Buddha."

Yu Yan's expression changed slightly.

Yu Yan: ─=≡Σ(╯°□°)╯︵┻┻

He was actually going to the Buddha's residence!

"Master, what's the matter?"

Monk Shen Xing noticed this change in Yu Yan's expression.

Yu Yan didn't expect this fellow to be so meticulous that he would notice him, so he could only say expressionlessly,

"The poor monk is a little surprised. I didn't expect the abbot to let the poor monk go to worship the Buddha this time."

"Master, you Don't you dare to go?"

Hearing this, the monk Shen Xing laughed.

Looking at his expression, Yu Yan didn't deny it, and nodded directly.

"The poor monk is just an ordinary monk, although he has been there in the past, it was only twice. Thinking about it now, I have lingering fears in my heart."

He took the opportunity to belittle himself, so that this evil servant would immediately give up the idea of recognizing him as a teacher.

But what he didn't expect was that the monk Shen Xing comforted him when he heard the words.

"Master is just a mortal. He has nothing but the Buddha Dharma, he has no ability to cultivate the truth."

"It is human nature to be afraid, but master, don't worry. Even though I doesn't have the ability to cultivate the truth, but I have a few strange skills in my hands, if Master falls, I have a 50% chance of rescuing you."

Yu Yan was stunned.

Yu Yan: Σ( ̄. ̄)

He looked at the adept monk with a little uneasiness. It turned out that this guy is still a capable man.

'But... this is 50% sure, big brother, don't you really think it's a bit small?'

Monk Shenxing was stared at by Yu Yan, and he was about to speak, when he suddenly saw a cat walking out from behind Yu Yan, his eyes suddenly became blurred, and he said,

"Master, if you still feel scared, How about hugging this cat to strengthen your courage?"

When Yu Yan heard this, he felt that he was underestimated.

Let him hug a cat to strengthen his courage?

This...

Yu Yan turned his head to look.

It turned out to be this cat, so he decided to hug it!

Immediately, without hesitation, Yu Yan picked up the snow footed cat who seemed to want to join in the fun, and then walked towards the Buddhist residence.

This cat is his backer!

It wasn't until Yu Yan walked away that the monk Shen Xing came to his senses.

He looked at Yu Yan who had gone away with a look of astonishment, because he saw Yu Yan hugging a cat.

'Why are you holding a cat?'

Monk Shen Xing had no memory of what he just said.

But seeing that Yu Yan was almost out of sight at this moment, he quickly chased after him,

"Master, wait for me, I will go with you."

...

The road inside Lan Xing Temple was really difficult to travel on, because the terrain was too uneven.

If it is not for the stone steps to pave the road, walking around the temple would probably take two or three days.

But it was also thanks to the landscape, that the monks in the Lan Xing Temple were all in good health.

Even monk with a house like monk Shen Xiu, has to walks all the way with this feet without.

While holding the cute cat in his arms, Yu Yan didn't know if it was because he knew in his heart that the cat was his backer, or if the memory of the monk Shen Xiu's visit in the past gave him a bit of confidence, but when he walked up the narrow mountain path, he didn't have any fear.

Yu Yan walked all the way, and when he arrived at the Buddhist residence, half a stick of incense's time was almost gone.

'It's not as scary as he imagined!'

However, looking down from the foot-wide mountain path, he could see the bottomless mountain stream.

The thrill was like nothing he had ever experienced...

Yu Yan put down the Moonless, adjusted his monk robe, and went inside to worship Buddha.

Compared with the entire Lan Xing Temple, this residence for worshiping Buddha looked very out of place.

The halls of the monks' houses in Lan Xing Temple were all covered with blue tiles, not luxurious, but they exude a sense of wealth and nobility, while this Buddhist residence is just a simple wooden house, and when the mountain wind blows, it makes it even more creaky.

It sounded like it was going to collapse when he stepped in.

Looking in from the door, he had a panoramic view of everything in the house.

There was no golden Buddha statue, just a very rough clay statue, which looked like a Bodhisattva, but it had no face and no hands, it sat with it's legs crossed, and the head was slightly lowered.

The statue was in a sitting posture, but it was as tall as an ordinary person, six or seven feet.

With just one glance, Yu Yan felt that something was wrong with the statue.

After all, how can there be such a flawed beauty in a Buddha statue?

That was when the familiar square brackets came out, and Yu Yan confirmed his guess all at once.

[Mara's Remnant Image: The Demon Buddha worshiped by Lan Xing Temple, when the abbots of all dynasties, prostrate and worship the Buddha in this place of worship, they can borrow the mighty power of Mara, so that they can possess the power of transcending human being!]

'It turns out that this is a Demon Buddha And there really are benefits to be obtained from worshiping!'

Yu Yan's heart shuddered.

He really didn't expect that this benefit turned out to be that as long as he was in the abbot while worshiping Buddha, he could have the power transcendence!

It's no wonder why Lan Xing Temple has such a big reputation, even though there are only some ordinary Buddhist scriptures int the temple, with no one that can show any holiness in front of others.

Transcendence!

What is a transcendence?

It means the literal ability to swim in the ground to avoid any danger and strong abilities that make it hard for one to be killed.

Every person in the realm of transcendence is a great practitioner in this world.

Even if Yu Yan's predecessor, Monk Shen Xiu, is as somewhat of a lonely person as he is, the word "transcendence" resounds like thunder.

However, what is more interesting is that this transcendent person in Lanxing Temple... Does not get it through means of practicing, but borrowed it directly!

Thinking of this, joy surged in Yu Yan's heart.

After all, the abbots of all generations can borrow it, and those who occupy the magpie's nest and dove's nest can borrow it, so wouldn't he also be able to borrow it?

He resisted showing the slightest clue on his expression.

Then, Yu Yan clasped his hands together and made a respectful look,

"Namo Amitabha, abbot, the disciple is here."

As Yu Yan opened his mouth, a Buddha's chant sounded, it was a famous monk sitting in front of the statue.

This monk was thin and beardless, but he had a pair of eyebrows that were white and very long, drooping from the corners of his eyes.

This was the abbot of Lan Xing Temple, the monk with long eyebrows, and his dharma name was Shen Hui, but now few people call him by his dharma name, even the dignitaries visit respectfully call him 'abbot'.

After all, in the eyes of these people, this abbot with long eyebrows is a great person in the world!

"Shenxiu, the poor monk came to ask you for advice on something."

Shen Hui didn't hesitate, he said straight to the point.

This was because of his character, he had always been vigorous and resolute.

Hearing these words, Yu Yan quickly said,

"I dare not give the abbot advice, but I ask the abbot to speak frankly. I will know everything and say everything I know."

"There is no sign of feeling; because of the emptiness of thinking, there is no sign of knowing; because of emptiness, there is no sign of action; Can you explain this?"

Yu Yan did not expect that the abbot was looking for him to discuss Buddhism.

If he was the former monk Shen Xiu, he might not be able to answer Shen Hui's question. Because this paragraph sounds long, but in fact it can be summed up in eight words - the same is true for thinking and knowing.

This sentence comes from the Heart Sutra.

But he, Yu Yan, is the best at making up nonsense.
