A photograph is the best way to immortalise a memory. People don't stay forever, but our memories remain. We can't go back in the past, but through the photos, we can get the same feelings over and over again. This is the reason I wanted to steal a moment with her, to take a picture and make this memory stay on forever. And, I had this amazing moment to click a photo with my lady in Green which was something of a fairytale.
I guess, I was a great photographer for her or was it just her aura. I can vouch on the fact that she looked like a supermodel. I mean the serenity in the background, the natural colour in the sky, her elegant posture. It was giving me butterflies in the stomach. And when she complemented me on my skills, it was like cherry on top of a cake. I was the most happiest guy.
Since then, I would occasionally try to get as many beautiful photos I can take. Just to see her liking my photos. I actually had a dedicated photography page created just for her. "Things we do for love."
Back then we had most of our classes in the afternoon but our English classes were in the morning. I was fond of writing and that day our teacher held a small story competition. The topic of the essay was "A beautiful memory."
And I immediately jumped into it. I put my heart and soul into the paper, writing about a romantic story, where My Lady in Green was the center of attraction.
When we were told to present our stories, my heart was racing fast as I looked at her and spoke every word in that story as if, I was all alone in that room with her. Telling her about my feelings, about her beauty and why she's so special. The teacher liked it and decided to treat all the students.
He ordered two bags of chicken bucket and we just devoured and enjoyed it. To make the moment more memorable he asked someone to take a snap. And while they were discussing who should take the photo something amazing happened.
My Lady in Green was sitting on the first bench. She turned back and asked me to take the photo. And, so I walked up in front of the desk and clicked a selfie with all of us in it. With just a click, the moment was captured in my phone. It was a memory that would forever be etched in the digital pixels of my phone.
Throughout the days that followed, I would randomly stare at the photos of her while trying to recreate the scenario in my mind. In those imaginations, I would take a walk and stand beside her. Then she would pose for me, and I would take photos of her. She would be my model, and I will be her permanent personal photographer.
For others, it might be nothing out of the ordinary, but for me, it was a priceless thing. I held my phone close to me and would talk to her photo. I knew it was just a picture, but still, I was waiting for her to respond. Somewhere in my heart, I had this belief that the picture would become real and talk to me, as I did. I would tell her photos about me about my feelings and emotions. But it was only a photo and not an actual soul.
