The group gathered closer — Klaus sharpening his axe with slow strokes, Hassan leaning on his massive greatsword like a pillar of calm strength, Ebony twirling her twin daggers in a meditative rhythm. Iresh stood tall beside me in her full Shadowmane form, her fur bristling with tension, moonlight catching the silver in her eyes.

A storm was coming.

And I would meet it… burning.

That night, Overseer ignited.

No whisper. No flicker. A tidal wave.

My vision fractured into a mosaic of light and shadow. Every heartbeat pulsed as if inside my skull. And then—I saw it. Not with my eyes, but through the veil.

A massive creature, slithering through the trees.

“Don’t look at its eyes!” I shouted. “It’s a basilisk! One glance and you’ll turn to stone!”
