Something major happened that even Rose was dumbfounded. When Rose and Jack were inside the library which wasn't used for so many years, the book which seemed to be read by someone before caught their eyes. They pulled that out with the help of the stool. When they put that down on the table, both curiously looked at it. Yet the next second, they found a picture and few letters which they don't know if they should open or not. On outside there was a name of their grandmother and great-grand uncle. Rose and Jack had a thoughtful look. Their heart says to open it, but the morale thinking didn't let them open it. This led them to take this to their parents. Leo and Catherine were chatting with a coffee in their hand about the new jewelry design. Jack and Rose clumsily hopped down the stair and walked to them. Putting them down on the glassy table, Jack and Rose's eye sparkled, "Read this to us!"
Looking at how excited they are as if they found some treasure. Leo and Catherine laughed, and both picked up the old letter type paper yet the next second, they were frozen. Leo appeared lost. He read all of them one by one. Putting the last one on the table he shivered. Catherine didn't know what to do. She offered a glass of water. Leo could only utter two words, "That bastard!" With that he dialed a number and said politely not like how he actually appeared, "May you please come to my home for dinner tonight. I have something very important to talk with you." The other party seemed to agree and so Leo ended the phone call.
Rose noticing the change in her father shook his pajamas hem. That gentle touch brought Leo back to the reality and he smiled sliding aside his furies. Rose said with soothing words, "Father, we are family. So, won't you tell us what is happening?" She bit her lips and added, "Lying is cheating. Family is for sharing. So, what happened?"
Leo never intended to lie at the first place. He has to confirm everything first before say anything to his child. Pinching her cute little nose he said, "Of course, I won't lie to all. No matter what. Don't you believe papa?" He appeared aggrieved and Rose was really unable to control her mouth, "Okay, okay. I believe you. My father will never lie."
Jack smiled at this sight, but his doubt lingered. Catherine knowing her son's thought patted his head and added, "Have I ever tell you to lie?" Jack hearing this shook his head and so Catherine continued, "So, there won't be any lies here either. You learned what your parents are, and we always been sincere about everything. So, don't push your head in this matter."
Jack nodded easing all worry. Yet not so late a man visited them. His body clad in all black. They thought whosoever was invited by their parents must be coming with their family, but he came alone. Moreover, it was surprisingly their elder from Amber, their great-grand-uncle. Leo watch as the man came in the middle of the hall calmly, yet his worry is evident in his forehead brows. He smiled which was somewhat weird in many ways, "Leo, you invited me for the dinner. I was surprised. What did you had to talk about?"
He had come, cancelling his trip back to west because he was just so happy to get a call from him. Yet his heart is still worried. Leo said, "Oh, yeah it was suddenly. Please have a seat." Vernon went ahead and sat without any more fuss about the matter. Yet the moment he sat; his sight fell on the letters on the table. The handwriting seemed familiar. Catherine brought tea and other refreshments. She then sat with them tugging both Rose and Jack at the sofa.
Leo didn't beat around the bush and pushed the letters ahead to him with no intention of asking. Vernon without opening them asked, 'Where were these all the time?" Leo said the truth, "These two naughty children brought it to me. As they were curious. For now, even I am curious." His eyes turned cold.
Vernon sighed at the pitiful sight of his son, he cannot help but said, "You won't believe it anyway. What's the point?" It was so dramatic even, he, himself won't belief these. Those past incidents were truly unbelievable. For Vernon it was, and he still hasn't come over it. However, opposite to his thoughts Leo was angry that he grabbed his shirt all of sudden and said, "You won't try to explain so?"
Vernon smiled at him and grabbed the hands that are now same as his. It was warm. He put down the hand that was on his chest. Eyes reddened himself, he told everything he had in few sentences, heaviness in the air and sadness in his voice was evident, "Sahra was mine to begin with. Stanton schemed and married her at the last moment. Your mother couldn't bear to let her family down, so she chose to stay when I asked her to go with me." And at last, she was so ruthlessly tossed and turned by Stanton till she died.
The hall was completely silent. Leo urged for the most etched up question he have, "So, nothing else, you have to tell me?" His hoarse voice made Vernon add another sentence with unwillingness, "You are my son." He desperately added thinking Leo might mistook him for various things, "She was engaged to me from childhood, and we were together before marriage." He couldn't find any words to add and at last apologized, "I'm sorry."
Leo spit out, while gritting his teeth, "So, I was thinking that hypocrite as my father for so long and you were standing behind him. With no intention to take me back." He would have been happy if Vernon had taken him away from Stanton. Not his mother but at least he would have been happy to have his father. But he didn't, he was just watching like a bystander at him. Vernon, knowing everything what he was thinking, as a father cannot bore this huge misunderstanding and so added, "Your mother wanted to make you stay with Stanton and not with me. It was because of the reputation that had to be protected of her Browns." He continued, "If you don't believe me. I have her letters with me. Want to read them?"
Leo was so pissed off that he cannot utter a word anymore. Vernon was awkwardly hanging in the middle. He was as innocent as he is now, in the past. Obeying Sahra's words like it is not revocable. Looking at the situation Rose jumped down from her couch and went to Vernon. She addressed him with a smile, "So, you are my grandfather, right? You are good man, but previous grandpa was not good. He used to glare at me like this," She acted like Stanton, rolling her eyes in a ridiculously cute manner. It's not that he appeared good for now. In the past this man went to west and never returned, and he was known death alone with a scroll of painting clutch in his hand. He remained unmarried for his whole life. No one dared to touch that painting and he was buried like that with it.
Even though she is acting like an adult she looked too cute that Vernon laughed making Leo and others laugh too. Rose happy inside her heart, had to act like she is angry at their laughing and has to pout. Vernon said, "Really a treasure." His eyes fall on Jack with no words to utter. He didn't ask anyone to acknowledge him as their grandpa and sat there in silence. With such attitude Jack stood up and said with a straight face, "Grandfather." That day the family was really reunion. Grandmother must be happy too looking down at them. Vernon with other decided to keep it a secret for Sahra's sake. From that day onwards Leo cut his relationship with Browns too but for his mother's sake he kept his surname as Browns.
The Amber didn't come close to Browns anymore. Except Boyle's dirty tricks to blame Rose and frame her, nothing special happened. The rumor about Browns being selfish and inconsiderate was all faded with the passage of time. Rose never faced the public till she started her career. Everyone could see that she was being protected like an unmatched gem. Some people who spotted her shadow going out with her parents or brother made an ironic scandal. The misses of Browns even needed four professional bodyguards to protect her from harm. They never saw her before, so everyone made this rumor as a joke and later when she appeared before everyone things changed, and she gained herself a fame of being pretty.
In these past years the life Rose lead was very extravagant. She didn't receive the past criticism. Her life remains passive and smooth till she started to have her company. As an inexperience person, she did encounter various obstacle. As years passed the lady had evolved to a refine lady. Right now, in the highest skyscraper of the city at the twentieth floor.
"Hello, madam, what do you want to order?" a waitress wearing a red dress in a luxurious hotel, asked the young lady in front of her who has worn a white dress is Rose Brown the famous CEO of the Global Apex conglomerate. She exuded a sense of purity.
"Just bring me a coffee," said Rose looking through her documents. The waitress saw her beauty from side-glance and bowed her head before leaving. The waitress couldn't help but turn to see her more than few times before leaving the door.
Rose looked out of the window and thought, it's been 17 years. She has everything that she wanted. Status, fame, money and her family. There are no drugs in her body, and she don't yearn for anything else. She wanted to feel something new, but it is unknown what it is. She crossed her longs legs to sit more comfortably, and the pose looked stunning. Rose who used to be a very cute girl now has become a graceful young lady. Both Mr. and Mrs. Browns have taken very good care of her. Unlike her past now Rose is known for her extraordinary beauty and elegance. The browns have risen in their status over the last two decades significantly. YONO has become a signature jewelry company and comes in the top five in the world. Jack has become a neuroscientist. Grandfather visits from time to time. The family has been perfect and happy from the time when they cut all the relationships with Amber.
Rose has been pondering over her past and present condition. She is satisfied but not happy. Is there something she is missing? While she is pondering, a man enters the room waking Rose up from her deep thought. The man is a Western one having a very straight body and sharply combed hair. Watching the man coming over, she stands up leaving her continuous thought and shake hands with him and started the meeting. April 12, 2039, the city has flourished, and the technologies have developed more. The use of petroleum has been stopped and electronic cars are used. Various environmental protection acts were taken place. More greenery can be seen. Compare to before. The environment is more preserved.
As Rose was attending her meeting the media exploded. The news about Browns and Emerson entering the top five of the world's richest families is spreading all over the world. The rise of Browns is constantly on the news for the last seven decades. The competition between the companies is must. Not only one has to compete with the local companies but also has to compete with the international companies. Things will change after entering this ranking list. The thing that GLOBAL APPEX COMANY has entered the ranking cause many uproars.
In the vibrant East, amidst visible excitement, a young man emerged from azure waters of the majestic yacht in the West. His sinewy frame glistens under the sun's embrace, poised against the backdrop of an endless, sparkling sea. With chiseled features, an allure that captivates both men and women, Faith Jihino stands tall, boasting an imposing stature, framed by piercing ocean-blue eyes. At a mere twenty-nine, he commands not just the helm of Blend, the number one conglomerate, but also the title of the world's most extraordinarily handsome man.
Draping a pristine, plush white towel around his waist, Faith Jihino's penetrating gaze shifted from the azure expanse to his sleek tablet. Uttering in a tone that hinted at both intriguing and contemplation, he mused, "The East country is evolving rapidly. Time is an agent of transformation, bringing forth a new wave of people."
Clad in impeccable business attire, George, Faith's devoted assistant, straightened his posture before relaying the information. With a demeanor hat exuded professionalism, he began, "The two prominent families involved Browns and Emerson. The legacy of Emerson spans nearly three decades within this industry, while the Browns, relative newcomers, have only graced it for the past seven years. Notably, the helm of the Browns is commanded by a young, maven, Rose Browns, a mere twenty-seven years of age." Before George could divulge more, Faith's commanding voice cut through, "Who is this lady? Show me."
As George swiftly sought out her image, a sight unveiled itself left him utterly astonished. His eyes widened in sheer amazement upon beholding her captivating face for the first time. Witnessing George's stunned reaction, Faith seized the tablet eager to see the person who had elicited such a response. Upon the screen rested an image of downright beauty-a woman of ethereal allure. Strands of golden hair meticulously gathered in a tight bun, framing a face that held an arresting gaze, deep blue eyes seemingly pulling one into their enchanting depths. Her look was symphony of flawlessness- a portrait of unparalleled perfection.
Faith's voice, tinged with a hint of uncertainty, conveyed his doubts, "Are you certain this is the CEO, the woman in question?" George, wearing an expression of mild disdain at his doubt, arched his brows, a subtle indication of his displeasure. "How could you doubt at my repost? I am very sure; finding a picture of a strikingly beautiful lady is child's play," he asserted, a faint chuckle escaping his lips as he held the image in his grasp. His satisfaction was visible. Examining the picture once more, Faith's reaction was ineffable. A smile played upon his lips, masking the strange whirlwind of emotions swirling within. "Perhaps she's merely another person, under the wings of a giant." His casual remark betrayed his own heartbeats.
Shaking his head George clarified, "There's no chance she has anyone abroad to shelter her. She suffers from CIPA. She's leading her studies and life entirely on online from childhood until now. Her connections are solely with her family Moreover she is pure Eastern." Raising his brows slightly, Faith asked, "She has CIPA? Are you talking about that disease, right?"
Nodding his head George explained all her history. At last, he added the most interesting fact. Adjusting his spectacles, George slide up his frames as he spoke in a tone of knowing conviction, "Ah Jack" he began by a thoughtful pause, "Her elder brother, you know our Jack right. It's fascinating, really. She seems to be the reason behind his unwavering determination to pursue neuroscience."
George added, "Although CIPA patient never lived more than 25 years old, she seemed to be a special case." Faith nodded his head and took a serious glance at the picture again. He said with deep look, " Accept the invitation from the Eastern country. We'll depart tomorrow for the party. I'm particularly interested in this person. " George packed his stuff and said without looking at him, " I knew that you would say this, hence I accepted the invitation in the morning. So, we can leave in the evening." Faith gently ruffled his smart assistant's hair as he remarked, a hint of humor in his tone, "Seems I may need to consider a new assistant. You seem to know far too many of my thoughts, haven't you? You did it off your own bat."
"How is this possible I don't know anything," said George adjusting his spectacle looking somewhere else. Faith smirked, "Yes this is perfect. Go pack my files and let all the guards move." George left without looking back like fleeing from the plague after getting the instructions. Faith cast a contemplative gaze eastward, softly uttering, " It's time. I waited long enough." A smile graced his lips, imbued with profound sigh.
On the other side, Rose has returned to the villa. Catherine and Leo are now under forty-five. But the childish love is still there. They are bickering each other. After stepping into the villa Rose strode straight towards the kitchen. She wailed like a child, "Mama Papa where is my food? I'm starving."
Hearing this both came out of the door with hands full of delicious homemade food. Rose jumped and ate all the dishes very sweetly. Her side cheeks puffing as she said, "The deal with that Western man is confirmed and there will be a party tomorrow. Mom and Dad, you are going right?" Asking this she put a steam Momo into her mouth.
Leo smiled at his grown-up daughter and said, "We will be there because we have received an invitation from the organization and also from our little Rose." Rose smiled hearing his words. They are her parents, her life and love. Catherine said her concern smiling gently, " Baby do not accept any other invitation. You are my only little diamond. You know how to protect yourself, but these will not always be safe."
Rose knowing the fear of losing her is engraved within her parents, she smiled and said "Nothing will happen to me. You have provided me with four exceptionally strong bodyguards. I won't be in danger because you two will be there for me, I know." Leaving the spoons, she said, before pushing her chair back, "Now I'm going to sleep because tomorrow we have to go to a party. Love you, mama and Papa," Rose jumped to kiss and left saying good night to them as she left.
Catherine said looking at her receding figure, " How could she be, okay? You did not even try to stop her. Is it okay? We have made a very big mistake leaving her behind with Ambers in past. Now again, we have to let her stay with these people who don't know her seriousness well. I don't wish to see her like that."
Leo said, "We cannot stop her. She is now an adult. who knows what is right and wrong. If we try to interfere Rose will not listen to us. We can only let her be the way she wants. She is not a bird that we can cage. Rose has her own life." Catherine nodded her head she knew how much influence her restrictions will be on Rose. But more than this, she feared losing her. Rose has never attended any party most of the time. Only a few times. But as a mother she can't control herself from saying these things. Having something worth losing is terrifying.
