Chapter 22 : Eina As Adventurer

Three weeks later. In the hill I always go.

"Haah!"

Fwoosh!

〔Good job, Master! You can now easily control beginner Spirit Magic! Praise me for teaching you!〕

As the spirit named Reina(Eina told me that the spirit named herself after her) said, Eina here was practicing Spirit Magic, and now she can fully control her magic. It took her 3 weeks of practicing to fully control only the first easy Spirit Magic.

Why? Because it is much more easier to cast, yet hardest to use. Reina told us how normal people gain cooperation of spirits and use their power.

It was because to use Spirit Magic, you need to get cooperations of spirits. To do that, one must first learn their language(a process Eina skipped and me who cheated with my Skill). Then, to to be able to talk to a spirit, you'll need to do a ritual to call the spirits.

The ritual isn't that much hard to set up as you only need to clean yourself, go to a place rich in magic power which is normally dangerous because monsters like places rich of magic power, and chant the words calling to them. The ritual can only be performed one time, and only the spirits who responded to your call was the "friends" who would lend their power to you.

Yes, friends. Reina emphasized this to us, that spirits isn't a tool, but rather someone you should treat with respect and not someone you order around.

Moreover, only the element the spirit(s) have that you summoned is the element you can only use as Spirit Magic. Also, Spirit Magic is stronger than Attribute Magic and also consumes less magic than the latter.

It was because to activate the magic, you will give a little magic power to the spirit , which they'll make as connection to them. Then, after connecting, you can now cast the magic you want. But that is only the start.

Spirit Magic is an independent type of magic. You will be the one to give shape to your magic. As such, imagination is a must. By imagining the shape of your magic, how to activate it, the conditions necessary, and control will you be able to cast a Spirit Magic.

Considering all that, the fact that Eina only took 3 weeks is amazing. It was also thanks to the fact that Eina was loved by the spirits. In fact...

〔No ritual needs to be done, as Master is reeeeaaalllllyyy loved by us! If she wants to use our powers, then we'll be glad to!〕Reina said before.

And as for me... I could only look at them enjoying using it. Truth is, while I could understand them and they seemed to trust me, they said I don't need their help. Yeah... I think I could understand...

After all, I could enhance my magic, and not only that, I can even create it. You could say that it really was the same as Spirit Magic. While thinking that, Eina came to me.

"Master! I finally did it!"

"Yeah, good job," I told her as I patted her head.

"Ehehe," Eina grinned, seemingly happy I patted her head. I've just tried it two weeks ago when she did her first spell, and after that she asked me to pat her if she did good. I'm not going to disagree of course.

"Ah!"

"What is it?"

"...Master, I also sant to become like you."

"Heh, but you would soon catch up to me won't you? At this pace, I think you'll even surpass me."

"No, that's not it. I sant to be an adventurer like you."

Eh? Uh, what?

I was speechless when she said that with a straight face. I mean, by doing so, she'll encounter monsters again, and she might breakdown again...

Maybe seeing me frowning, she told me, "No need to worry, Master. Eina is strong, you know? While it might still hurt, I promised to move on. And to do so, I also need to face my fears. That includes facing monsters... and maybe that too."

"..."

I see. While I sas worried about the last words she said, the only thing that matters was she was trying to become strong. No, she is in fact strong now, mentally.

"Alright. I will take you to Guild again tomorrow, this time so that you can register. But, for now, let's just practice for now, alright? "

Her face brightened more after I said that. We resumed her training where Reina was quietly pouting because we ignored her earlier.

Then, as I promised we got into the Guild the next day.

"I see. So she would register, yes? Then, miss, if you should sign these papers," Rigel-san, who was the receptionist handed her the papers I also submitted when I was registering.

But then Eina wryly smiled, "I'm sorry, I still can't read and write much..."

"Oh, is that so? Then, just please tell me the informations I need to fill in here," Rigel-san said as she held the quill to write.

Then, after we did the form and finished telling her what adventurer always do, she was handed a quest that would serve as her test. A same quest of gathering herbs.

"Though, please refrain from helping her, Zen-sama. I won't validate her registration if you do."

"Um, why are you talking like I'm some kind that'll consider cheating just to pass?"

I wore a stiff smile which Eina and Rigel-san laughed at. But, well, it#s okay I suppose?

Anyway, we got to the forest. It's Rinlea Forest, or course. That's where beginners fo their tests or getting herbs after all. I looked at the quest earlier, and it says that they need 30 Rizzeta herbs, which was easy to find and used to remove fatigue and also used in dishes.

After just getting into the Finlea Forest, we've already seen atleast 6 of them. We continued deeper to find the herbs, and when she almost completed it, qe decided to go back and find hem while returning.

Of course, while I'm there, I didn't help her find it. Actually, I have seen it many times in our way, but didn't bother saying it as I said I won't help. There were also times she mistook them, but I've not told her that untiknshe noticed it herself.

Then, taking only couple steps, we already stopped. There was a reason to. We looked at the place our senses told us, and found a Furious Wolf. They look like wolves but they also uses magic, mainly fire. They also gather in packs... but this one is alone. It's also small, which means it might've been lost.

I stared at Eina. In the situations where monsters appear, Eina panics and a her face will visibly change. But... it wasn't now.

"Hrm..."

While I know she still hadn't overcome her fear, she was trying to fight it. The fact that her face was filled with worry, but her eyes isn't clouded but instead looking like she's thinking of something. It was amazing how fast she's trying to overcome it.

Then, the wolf moved. Eina, on the other hand, pointed her hands on the charging monster who was now wrapping itself on fire.

Eina called out.

"O spirits, please lend me your powers and help me decimate my enemy. "

Suddenly, magic power came out of her hands, and then a magic sphere-a spirit appeared and absorbed the magic power. The spirit, which was colored in a light blue magic, was now 'connected' to Eina.

And Eina then closed her eyes. Why? Because the connection lets her see what rhe spirit sees. While this feat sas inly achievable if you have experience, Eina was able to because of the enlightenment she apparently recieved on the goddess she met(this was the explanation of Reina).

Also, she claims that she can concentrate more if she closed her eyes. As I was thinking that, Eina was now clad in a chilly magic power. Then, blocks of ice formed, and they became arrows of ice.

"" Eina chanted.

Then the arrows of ice moved, and they targeted the Furious Wolf. It tried to evade it, but the arrows swerved and struck the wolf. It howled in pain, and then proceeded to fall. It was dead.

Eina, who was now looking at the dead wolf, looked at the disappearing spirit.

"Thank you," she said, smiling gently. The spirit, as if responding to those words, glittered for a second before disappearing completely.

Thus, Eina completed her first quest, and she became an adventurer officially without issues. Though, Rigel-san was still thinking I helped her... Sigh...
