Chapter 30

"To your left, Master!"

"Alright. Make a light, Eina!"

"Roger!"

We we're in the dungeon's 9th floor, trying to clear it again. Recently, it's been hard to clear this one... Though we'll try again. My level too has gone up high, and I'm already at level 27. I think I'm still weak though... We can't even clear this one.

At this floor, we've only cleared... I think 30 percent? That's how hard it is. Currently, we're fighting a slime half the size of average human. The one Eina pointed tried to shoot a corrosive magic at me. It was strong it can even melt a barrier.

After dodging its attacks, I told Eina to cast a light spell to illuminate the slime's surroundings. Those slimes can also form an ambush, you see... Though after illuminating the place, I haven't seen any ambush, so I rushed at the lone slime.

"Take this!"

I slashed the slime, trying to slice it in half. My sword... almost didn't cut it, if not for me coating my sword with my magic.

The slimes here were not like any slimes in mangas. They are almost immune to magic, and if you don't have enough firepower then you'll never be able to defeat them. They are also immune at physical damage, though their magic resistance are double than that.

However, everything has a weakness. A slimes' weakness lies at the center of their body, a magic core. However, you would never be able to destroy it without cutting the slime.

Although I've discovered something. The slimes in this dungeon could almost negate your damage... but all you need to do was combine physical attack and magic.

If you do that, the slime will negate the magic, but will not be able to negate the physical attack. Yes, they can only negate one at the same time. After doing it repeatedly, we came to defeat slimes here with more ease.

Well, Eina was still quite struggling, as I looked at her direction to see if she needs any help. She was facing a slime too, and not too far away was another one, jumping to join the attack. Eina back then was only capable of using Spirit Magic a year ago, but now...

"Take this!"

Eina shouted at the most nearby slime, readied her weapon, then charged at the slime. She tucked her right hand that holds her weapon— a rapier, to be precise, then stabbed the slime.

Although I thought that she forgot something and was about to rush over, her rapier was then cloaked with streaks of thunder. It was when the tip of the rapier was about to reach the slime, who looked confident that it could take the stab.

The slime was mercilessly killed, and Eina retreated backwards. When I saw that, I draw out my revolver, ready to shoot the slime. With a bang, the slime was shot through its center, slowly dissolving. That said, the bullet was so fast the air rippled through. W-wind magic+projectiles=so fast....

We rested a bit after that. we found a safe place to eat, and I took out our lunch that's in my 'Item Box'. Seeing our lunch, which was a steak, Eina became enthusiastic.

"Master! Give me that!"

"I know, I know. Here's your share."

"Ah! Thanks for the food!"

She quickly devoured it huh... I guess I should eat mine too, before my part gets eaten too.

"H-hey, don't take that! That's mine!"

"Aahn. Delicious!"

"...But that's mine..."

After eating, we performed a maintenance on our weapons, which... doesn't look good. After all, they were just made of iron. What's more, the most burdening them that lead to their states right now was us forcefully channeling our magic.

Swords that was made of iron can't be channeled by magic power, in a sense or it'll easily break. There is a metal that could easily channel magic power and was the most common of the magic swords, a magicite ore. However, even a magicite ore needs to be processed to make a nice magic sword.

And now, our weapons are breaking apart. I would need a weapon soon... we still need to go back after all. Yep, unlike games, you can't just exit dungeons by clicking some buttons then you're out. But no, we need to go back to get out of this dungeon. It could be easy since I have camouflage, but some monsters can nullify that and still see you.

Sigh... I do have a revolver, but that's nof gonna be enough. I want a sniper... an AK could be good too...

"Man, I wanna create some guns..."

I thought of an AK in my head. It was still inside my memory. As a gun lover, this one was one of the guns I like. I still remember all of its parts. Wait, is this part here..? I was imagining where to put the parts when a familiar voice echoed inside my head.

『Manifesting 'Forge'. 』

"Woah!"

A light formed in front of me. The ground beneath it bulged, then felt like it was being sucked in the light, which turned out to be a magic circle. After sucking up some ground, the light became brighter.

"Master!"

"I'm okay! Don't worry!"

I reassured the worried Eina that was going to me, stopping her in her tracks. The light subsided after a few seconds. And what I saw at the ground was...

"An AK..? Eh? I created an AK?"

Back just earlier, and even back then, I can't interfere, with physical things. I can't do physical enhancement, I can't even try to create this skill, which was already in my mind back then.

What triggered it then? It was a mystery to me. 『Aetherial Manifestation』wasn't something that could interfere with physical things. So how..?

I can't think of any reason. However, maybe I could just dismiss it for now...

"..Heeh. I created an AK!"

"? Master, what is an AK?"

"Well... just think of it as another weapon similar to this revolver."

"Eh?! But wait, Master, didn't you say your skill can't interact with physical matters? How come then?"

"I don't know too... But it's better not to thinm of it for now, I guess. What matters is now I got this incredible skill!"

I immediately tried it again. Extending my hand, I tried to think of the bullets that was for an AK, then a magazine. The result?

"I got myself a fully reloaded Ak-47. I was so happy I immediately pointed it to a stone pillar far away. I pressed the trigger. Loud sounds came from the gun, during which even Eina was surprised she covered her ears. But for me... I enjoyed it very much.

"Haha, hahaha! This is fun!"

I immediately tried to forge another weapon again. And this time....it's a Barrett sniper. After finishing forging it, I immediately held it in the aiming position while walking, not minding the heaviness of the gun.

In the first place, I could swing a sword that's also heavy. I steadied my position, looking at the telescope. I even enhanced my vision my activating 'Night Vision' and 'Farsight'. And....

"Target lock."

I uttered a famous line snipers in the movies mostly say. I can't help but grin while pointing at the slime so far away from us. I pressed the trigger.

BAAANG!

It was so loud. However, my hands that should've been lifted up by the recoil only got unsteady a little bit. Oh, and as for the slime...

"...Headshot. Target eliminated."

"Master... what was that? It was so loud..."

"Eina, do you know? I just killed a slime using this. A slime very far from us."

"Eh?! That's so strong!"

I let Eina hold it. And after holding it, she immediately copied my position earlier. She moved the Barrett, trying to find a target.

"Ah! I spotted some slime!"

"Alright, steady your body, then point the center of the crosshair to the slime."

"Like this..?"

"Oh, that's wrong."

Her fingers aren't on the trigger. Her hold was too lax too. I corrected her body while telling her what she should do. Then, once she was steady, I asked her.

"So is the slime still in your sight?"

"Yes. ...uh, what was it..? Ah, that's right! Target lock!

"..."

Embarrassing. What the hell. I smiled wryly at her remarks. Then, a loud bang resounded. I haven't even told her to fire yet!

"...Oh! It was dead! I shot it!"

"First try, huh? You're amazing, Eina."

"No, Master's much more amazing."

Then, we got a bit excited and started firing with the nearby monsters while grinning. We continued like that for about an hour before going home.
