Time Spent with Hana (Revised) – A New World Arc (28)

his is the last day of rest we will have; the contract is close to its completion date, and we need to move fast after this day, but we had some surprise guests, so there is nothing we can do about it.

Hana and I will rest today so that no work will be done. We could go and enjoy ourselves a little in the city.

I got up from my bed and went downstairs. To my surprise, our parents were there; I hadn't seen them in a long time. I didn't know where they had gone, but I guess they came back to visit us for whatever reason; strange, Fumiko didn't tell us anything about them since she became the lady of the two regions. The most likely reason is that maybe they were on some super important mission that they couldn't tell us about.

"Oh, Hikaru, you are awake. How are you, son?"- Dad approached me and patted me on the shoulder. I didn't know how to react back then; I didn't feel or remember how a parent's warmth or love felt.

"I am good, Dad; how are you and mom faring? I wanted to take this day off and not do much of anything; maybe we can spend the day together if you two are free?"- I sat near Hana; sometimes it's hard to look at her as my sister; all of our lives, we didn't know if we were sibling or not, we did treat ourselves as such, but we knew something was off, why am I even rambling about this right now?

"Hey, kid, got something to tell you, in private, late, ok?"- Dad walked closer to me, leaned in and whispered in my ear. I wonder what he wants to discuss with me; it's too out of the blue

"Ok."- I nodded silently; Hana gazed toward us, looking at me with the biggest frown I had seen her have since we were reincarnated here

!I suggest you don't worry too much about it. I've got you covered on this one, Hikaru. When the time comes, I will help you talk it through. I do have some idea of what he will discuss, but I suggest you do not worry about it for now!

"Thank you, Sia"- I just have to wait until I can talk with my dad and Hana.

"I will go upstairs and let the 3 of you talk. Is it okay with you, Dad? I need to grab something real quick."

"Sure, son. Get the stuff you need and come back, or I will come up there and look for it with you" – He winked at me, and without looking back, I went back upstairs. 

I had gone to Fumiko's office, but she wasn't there, so I started doing some of her documents; she had a lot to do. Masamune and Hanako are on a break, so that I will pick up the slack here. And I just created a perfect opportunity for Dad to talk with me

I can hear a knock on the door; that should be him.

"Enter"- I guess it's time that he says what he wants to say to me; I wonder what it is; anticipation is killing me

!You are worrying for nothing!

He sat in a chair near me. Putting his sword and a piece of armour near it, his gaze drifts toward me, doing the paperwork.

"Well, you pick up on cues more now, it seems; your recovery in this world is going great, it seems." - Dad smiled at me. I don't know the proper reaction, but still, I will try. I smiled back at him as genuinely as I could

"Can you get to the point of why you two are here? You have been absent for so long. What happened?"- I looked at him; he looked back at me and sighed.

"It's about you and Hana, if you can, please, the two of you, stay out of harm's way, don't make reckless decisions that will cost you two your lives, we love the two of you dearly, even your mom, while she doesn't look like it, she had come to accept the situation."- Dad extended his hand and touched my head, patting it lightly.

"Accept what situation?"

"Well, there are two; one of them is that you are her son, despite reminding her of your biological father, and the second one, I don't know how to put it, Hana said that she loves you to us as she loves you the same way I love your mom kind of love, we were shocked, but we can't complain as much, we weren't present plus the things you two have gone through, I wouldn't blame either of you for this. And if you want to spend some time with her, it's ok, we have some time ourselves, and we can watch over you two if it's needed" – What the? Parents finding out stuff like that can be devastating for them, but I guess not for Dad; why can he take it like this and just not be affected is beyond me.

"One more thing" – He was about to leave before he turned back

"Yes?"- I was about to start completing papers again, my face beet red, but I turned to look again at him.

"We will be gone for a while. King Wieka is making war preparations; the corruption of Ifrit has taken hold of him, and he is now too incoherent to people who she doesn't brainwash; since Fumiko has you two, he wants us in his army, but I will not do that, I will not let that happen, I want to see my children, no matter the cost, be sure, we will return to you two, we have an oath to keep to Fumiko, I will tell you more and spy for you two. Now, if you plan on spending time with Hana, go ahead; we will only watch you; we don't have any plans on interrupting you two."- Dad left, and I waited around completing papers for Fumiko while they left.

Later that day, Hana and I went to Welcia on our day off. The details are too dull as to how I convinced her to come with me that day; it didn't take much to convince her to be honest.

"Well, why are postponing evolving? I mean, isn't your goal for us to evolve further.?"- We sat down at a local restaurant that had recently opened.

"Yes, but I decided to spend more time with you. I just want to; I never got this chance in my old world, so I am taking it in this one"- I tried to look away from her, but Hana held my left hand; she could reach my left side easily since she is seated to my left.

"Aren't you sweet? It's fine, It's not like I am complaining or anything. It feels great to have you treat me to lunch and buy me, sweets and the sort. I wish we can spend more times like this."- She smiled while putting her right hand on my shoulder.

"Time to not think about it too much; it may be awkward, but at least, let's order something first, or you know, maybe we can spend time elsewhere"- I looked at the ground. Just what was I supposed to do? I should never forget Hana or anyone I care about when it comes to reaching my goals; we promised each other that we would reach this goal together.

"Hikaru, I will go and order, stay here. I am sure you will like the food that I will order." We were already at the restaurant, but it seemed full. There were many people, but not the kind of full that made the place crowded with no room to walk.

I looked around for a little while and looked left and right; most tables were full, but our table was still empty; it was the only one available.

Hana came back after 5 minutes.

"Well, did you manage to order something delicious?"- Hana sat down at the table

"I have a better idea; let's eat outside, maybe go somewhere with a scenic view of the city. I will get the order, and then maybe we can go."

"Well, eating in nature isn't bad, is it? We will have time for ourselves, we can enjoy the beauty of nature. And be alone and not in this crowded place."

"Well, let's do it"- We waited around 30 minutes for our food. In this world, it is already close to Fall, and the heat isn't that bad; we are monsters and have natural insulation from the elements.

The two of us walked with our food to a hill outside Welcia.

"We can see the whole city from up here."- She pointed to the houses and shops we have visited before.

"It is amazing to see everything from above, but it's super small, almost like we are on a mountain"- The houses look more like miniature toys than houses people will live in.

"Here you go. I ordered roasted meat with some sort of sauce, and I don't know the taste or what type of meat this is."- Hana handed me the strange dish. I started eating when I took the first bite of the meat, which I dipped in sauce. The taste is fantastic; the beef combined with the sauce tastes like BBQ sauce from my world. I stumbled across that product from a foreign store in my country.

"Is yours any good?"- I see she has bought some sort of sweet. She looks more like a cake on a stick and has several of them.

"Yes, here, have a taste"- She extended the cake to me. I took a bite out of it; it tasted more like berries. I am sure I have eaten them before.

!Correct, you ate them when you first arrived with wolf meat!

"Here, you can taste from mine as well." I gave her a piece of the meat, which was more like feeding her directly. This is a date. Well, it is a date for all I know. I saw this in some of my mangas, scenes like these when two people in love eat together. Sia, Dad and I think many people can tell that Hana is into me, but maybe she wants to make fun of me

!Answer: She does not, so please just enjoy the moment!- Sia replied in a sweet and calming voice

"Hikaru, there is something that I wanted to tell you. I decided on two things"- Hana continued to eat.

"Well, what are they?"- I looked out to the city that seemed tiny from above.

"Well, I will become a demon lord with you. And the second thing, that's a secret for now. I will tell you later"- She giggled.

We continued to eat lunch and enjoy the view of the city.
