Chapter 78-Flint vs Sol, Part Two

"Lava Charge, Level One: Magma Geyser!" Sol shouts as he slams his giant hammer into the ground, causing cracks to spread all across the ground and sneak underneath Flint's sandcastle-turned-glass

"Crap!" Flint cries as he skips backwards, but trapped within his glass golem, Flint has nowhere to run.

Just as a burst of lava begins to fly from the cracks in the ground, Flint quickly spins around and smashes his fist into the glass wall behind him, shattering it, and allowing for Flint to escape.

Shards of glass are sent flying, and Flint winces as shattered glass digs into his knuckles.

Swiftly, Flint leaps out of his glass sandcastle just as the glass dome EXPLODES in a mighty burst of flames.

Flint attempts to duck to the ground and shield his head from the explosion, but before he can, a giant chunk of flaming glass smashes into Flint's head.

Flint's eyelids flutter as his mind goes blank for a moment, and then, Flint crashes down to one knee.

But Flint doesn't have much of a chance to process his new injury when he hears a fierce battle cry erupt from behind him- "RAHHH!!!"

Swiftly, Flint spins around to find himself standing face to face with Sol's, who is swinging his giant hammer towards Flint, which is emitting a faint red glow.

"LAVA CHARGE, LEVEL THREE: GOLDEN REND!" Sols hours as he swings his hammer towards Flint, who, in defense, turns his body into sand.

"Sand Charge, Level One: Sand Clo-" Flint begins to chant, but before he can finish, Sol smashes his giant hammer into Flint.

Instantly, the heat of Sol's lava changes the sand making up Flint's body into glass, which is shattered right away from the force of Sol's hammer, causing Flint to double over and spit up a glob of blood, before being sent flying backwards and smashing through the concrete wall behind him, before slamming into the wall behind that one, and finally falling to the ground in a pool of blood.

Flint's body turns back into flesh soon after, the shattered glass having made its mark on Flint's body in the form of numerous broken bones and deep, bloody gashes.

Flint slowly lifts his head to see Sol marching over to him, with his hammer slung around his beefy shoulder.

"I used my Lava Charge to heat up my hammer so that it was hot enough to turn your body into glass upon impact," Sol explains as he makes his way over to Flint, "Whicg makes me the PERFECT opponent to kill YOU, Sand Charger. The ability of turning one's own body into your element is one of the strongest tools that an E-Charge can muster. However, that tool is useless if your element allows you to turn into something frail, such as glass. "

"Sol's right…" Flint weakly says to himself, "And with his Devil Eye, which seems to convert the physical damage Sol absorbs into his own strength…I can't possibly defeat an opponent whose own elements changes mine into something I can't control…"

But then…words from his past flood into Flint's brain.

Flint remembers a time, long ago, where he sits on the ground on his knees, panting heavily as he stares up at his master, Master Doku, after a brutal training session.

"Master, how can I surpass you?"

"When an E-Charger TRULY understands the forces of their element, they can manipulate the quantities of the Compound Elements that makes up their Element," Master Doku had once said to Flint, "-In order to create an entirely new element."

"Can you do that?"

"No."

Flint raises an eyebrow at his confusing master. "Then why are you telling me this?!"

"Because, my Putrid Pupil…" Master Doku answers, "I believe that YOU have the potential to awaken…"

As Sol continues menacingly strutting over to Flint, Flint furiously shakes his head from side to side.

"Why am I thinking about you now, master…"

But then…Flint's eyes widen.

"That's it!"

As Sol continues marching over to Flint, slowly, the bloody Flint pushes himself off of the grunt with a pained grunt, and stands up to face his strongest opponent at last.

"Oh? So you still have some fight left in you?"

Slowly…Flint closes his eyes, then takes a deep breath in…then out…

"Are you…meditating…?" Sol asks.

"Glass…is made up of sand…" Flint softly says to himself, "Sand that has been heated up and taken another form, yet…it's still sand regardless…!"

Flint opens his eyes again and fixes a fierce glare on Sol as he resumes his Charge Stance.

"This…is my final stand!"

"Sand Charge, Level Four: Sandcastle!" Flint shouts as he swipes his hand upwards, and subsequently, a giant mound of sand begins to rise out of the ground around Flint, forming a sand golem around him.

"This again?" Sol asks as he resumes his Charge Stance as well, "You know I'll just turn it into glass?"

"Lava Charge, Level Two: Magma Tsunami!" Sol shouts as he slams his giant hammer into the ground, causing a tidal wave of lava to erupt from his hammer and crash down upon Flint's Sandcastle, engulfing the entire thing in magma.

By the time that Sol's Magma Tsunami subsides, Flint's Sandcastle stands as a giant golem of glass.

"See?"

Flint can't help but to smirk to himself as he resumes his Charge Stance again. Golden-tan sparks of energy EXPLODE from Flint's body then flow outwards, clumping together and taking the form of a HUGE bull with mighty horns, which rears to the sky and roars.

"Glass Charge."

Sol pauses, as his eyes widen.

"What...did you say…?"

Slowly, Flint's glass golem begins to lift one of its giant transparent arms.

"N-no way…YOU ARE A SAND E-CHARGER, HOW ARE YOU CONTROLLING GLASS?!" Sol cries

"Because I…" Flint answers, "...HAVE AWAKEN!"

"-LEVEL ONE: CRYSTAL CASTLE!" Flint roars as his glass golem begins to swing one of its mighty arms towards Sol.

Swiftly, Sol resumes his Charge Stance.

"Lava Charge, Level Three: Golden Rend!" Sol desperately cries as he swings his heated-up hammer towards Flint.

Flint's and Sol's spell clash in a GIANT explosion of reddish-brown and yellow sparks of energy.

"H-how! How did my hammer not shatter your glass?!"

"Looks like I'M stronger than you!" Flint madly cackles, parroting Sol's taunt from before.

Flint's and Sol's spells continue struggling back and forth battling for dominance, until eventually, a crack forms in the arm of Flint's glass golem.

Noticing this, Sol smirks.

"Looks like I was right all along."

Flint smirks back.

"That's what you think."

More cracks begin to form in the arm of Flint's glass golem, which begins to travel up the golem's arm to the rest of its body, until finally…the golem shatters.

Sol cackles madly.

Flint's eyes widen.

"You were strong, Flint Grovel, but only a mere cut above the rest!"

But then…Flint's eyes narrow into a second smirk.

"Just where I want you."

"GLASS CHARGE, LEVEL TWO: CRYSTAL SPEARS!" Flint shouts as he quickly resumes his Charge Stance then swipes a hand towards Sol, sending HUDNrEDS of glass shards flying towards the man.

Sol's eyes widened.

"Wh-what?! The remote-control of his element?!"

Swiftly, Sol resumes his Charge Stance to defend, but before he can even chant another spell, Sol is bombarded by Flint's shards of glass, which pierce Sol's chest and slash his flesh, causing the man to howl in pain.

Eventually, Sol falls face forwards to the ground in a pool of his own blood.

Flint pants as he stares down at his defeated foe.

"Remote-controlling my element? I could have been faster than that, however it seems like I still need to sue my Charge Stance in order to control gla-"

Before Flint can finish, he falls face forwards to the ground as well, in an even bigger pool of blood.

"Shit…I don't have enough strength to deal the killing blow…"
