Captain Ryuma

Hearing the sudden shout of the man, the whole group stopped to a halt and turned around to the source of the voice.

As they turned, they saw a displeased expression on the man's face and being the closest to the man, Yasu approached the man with caution and asked, "Can I help you?"

The man, wearing simple military gear with long hair that was tied up in a bun, immediately reached out his hand and pointed to Shoma and asked, "With whose authority have you been allowed to pick up your weapon from the hall?"

Seeing the man point at his bow, Shoma immediately realised what the topic seemed to be about. He pulled it out of his back and made his way to the man he asked, "Is there a problem with this?"

"Yes, there is. That is the bow that I had promised to me by Captain Ryuma," the man stated as he pointed at the bow in Shoma's hand, "Now tell me, who gave you the authority to keep the bow that was allocated to me."

A bright badge suddenly shone in the man's eyes, attracting his attention and as soon as he saw the talisman, a complicated and reluctant expression as he unknowingly took a step back.

All the soldiers in the camp were informed about the talisman of the general, colonel and captains as it was what they used to give others and approve requests.

"We collected these under the permission of the General," Yasu informed.

"If the weapons, had been retrieved by one of the sons of Ken Mago," another man spoke out, this time the voice sounded rough and gritty as a man with a large menacing build walked out, "We would have no problems."

"But to let a total stranger, with no known fighting experience, obtain such a high-quality weapon..." the man continued, "It's like giving a child a knife. It will not be able to use it to its full potential, even more, it will most likely just hurt itself."

Hearing that, a knowing smile appeared on Shoma's face as he realised that these two men were currently belittling him and looking down on him due to his clothing.

Seeing that the sizeable burly man was backing him, the other man walked forward and put his hand out, "Give that bow to me. It belongs to me."

A confused expression appeared on Shoma's face as he stared at the men in front of him. How had this happened?

A small smile appeared on his face as he looked at the bow and spoke, "To have your eyes set on this bow means you have a good eye. Let's play for it."

"Hahaha!" the man laughed out loud mockingly, "You? A complete nobody dressed in clothes that the peasantry wear wants to challenge me, a Commander?"

"Hey, what the fu-" Yasu spoke out and was about to go and back up Shoma. He knew when he felt a tug on his robe, turning his head around, he saw Isao looking at him.

"Let Shoma handle this," Isao said with a look of confidence.

"Hand it over," the man commanded coldly as he reached his hand out, expecting Shoma to give up the bow, "You are clearly not qualified to use such high-level equipment."

"Nah," Shoma rejected with a straight face as he put the bow back on his back, "I'm good."

At this, the man felt utterly humiliated and looked down on and as such, he was about to lash out when he was suddenly interrupted.

The burly man had walked forward and grabbed hold of the bow on Shoma's back.

"Let it go..." Shoma spoke coldly as he put a hand on the sabre.

"Tch!" the man smirked arrogantly as he stared down at Shoma, "What are you gonna do with that? Do you even know how to use that?"

"Yasu," Shoma spoke out, his gaze still fixed on the man, "What's the consequence if I end up killing a man in the camp?"

Hearing this, a complicated expression appeared on Yasu's face as he answered, "They won't be good..."

"Hahahahaha! This kid thinks that he had the ability to kill me!" the man laughed as he brought his hand to his head, "You thin-"

Bang!

The sound of something falling on the ground could suddenly be heard as the man suddenly appeared on his knees as he felt a strong choking sensation.

The bow was seen on his neck, and Shoma had appeared behind him, holding the bow by the ends as he pulled it. His leg was resting on the man's back while the bowstring was on the man's neck, choking him.

The man let out some gasps of air in shock as he had been caught during his exhalation while a shocked expression appeared on his face as he was caught completely off guard by the Shoma.

"You're lucky," the man heard Shoma say as fear suddenly appeared in his eyes.

"Killing you here will not benefit anyo-" before Shoma was able to complete what he was about to say, he was suddenly attacked by the commander, the man that had initially wanted his bow.

Seeing his mate get attacked so suddenly, he was enraged and immediately rushed forward to attack Shoma.

However, just as he got behind Shoma, he was left in shock as Shoma turned around before he was able to attack. Shoma's eyes had now turned as cold as eye as the purple in his eyes seemed to be sparking in anger.

Shoma turned around and held the bow sideways as the man's head had been free as an arrow had now been nocked on the bowstring, aiming directly at the commander.

In that instant, he let go of the arrow.

The commander's eyes went wide as he saw the arrow rapidly gaining ground as it sped towards him. Due to the surprise that the man had been caught in, he found himself rooted to the spot as he saw death coming right at him.

He closed his eyes as he gave up in defeat, waiting for the arrow to kill him.

However, instead of the silence of death, another voice was heard.

"What the hell is going on here?"

The arrow had stopped inches right in front of the commander, confused disbelief flooded his face as he opened his eyes.

Next to him was an armoured man in a yellow undershirt holding the arrow tightly as he stared at Shoma coldly.

"What do you think you are doing?" he asked coldly as his yellow eyes glowed with rage. The peasant had just dared to attack one of his newly trained commanders and would've killed him had he not arrived in time to save him.

"Correcting the perceived misconception that I'm weak," Shoma simply replied in a cold voice.

"Captain Ryuma!" the commander called out in shock as he got up. Having ground a backing, he immediately pointed at Shoma's bow and complained, "That kid stole the bow that you had allocated to me. I request that you would right this injustice that I have been met with. They even ignored me when I told them about you."

Thwack!

A tick mark appeared on Captain Ryuma's face as he turned around and suddenly brought his hand down, right on the crown of the commander.

"You idiot! What do you think you are doing?" Ryuma berated the man, "Look at the state you are in! If you are too weak to be defeated by a simple peasant, then you shouldn't have become a commander!"

The commander was left in a daze as he stared at his Captain with a look of disbelief but upon hearing what he had to say, a look of shame appeared on his face as he realised, he had truly just been defeated by a peasant.

"If anything, it seems that he deserved to own that bow," Ryuma spoke as he turned to the commander, "I revoke my statement of allocating you that bow."

"Captain! Bu-"

"No questions!" Ryuma stated resolutely as he urged the man, "Go pick up another weapon from the room."

The man nodded as he sensed that his presence was not liked in the current environment and quickly walked into the weapons room with his head hung low.

"Now," the Captain spoke as he suddenly charged forward at Shoma at lightning speed.

Shoma was not able to react as he felt something hit him right in the face. In that instant, a sharp pain pulsated on his cheek as he flew backwards about five metres.

"Ugh..." Shoma let out a groan of pain as he slowly got up.

"You cannot simply just try to kill people as you please here in the camp," Ryuma informed, "That was a warning."

This sudden attack caught everyone off guard as they stared at the Captain in a daze.

"Follow me," Ryuma spoke as he started walking, "The General is waiting for you all in the meeting room."
