OasisVille, OverWorld
Afternoon
The skies weren't blue, and the sun didn't shine. Instead the skies were cloudy with the clouds glowing an eerie pinkish-red color.
The small houses were on fire, Henry's castle-style house was destroyed. The farms were gone, nothing growing on them. No carrots. No potatoes. Nothing. The Village was almost unrecognizable.
As Ceres and Daniel continued walking further into the Village, they soon came to their senses. Everyone they knew and cared about—was gone. The Village was vacant.
"What happened here?" Daniel asked Ceres as they both continued to take in the horrible sight of their destroyed home.
"I'll tell ya what happened," a familiar voice said from nearby.
Ceres and Daniel abruptly stopped walking. Daniel grabbed his iron sword out from his inventory and held it out in front of him.
"Who's there?" Daniel said as Ceres stepped behind Daniel and stood behind him.
"Is it a ghost?" Ceres asked, "they scare me to death."
"Really Ceres?" Daniel said, "a talking ghost? C'mon!"
"What?" Ceres responded, "aren't you scared of ghosts too?"
"Nothing scares me!" Daniel said.
The familiar voice turned out to be their friend Henry. He walked out from behind a burning house. He looked weak and defeated. Henry was clearly sad about something.
"Henry? Oh boy. I am glad to see you. What happened?" Daniel said as he examined the dead village around him. Smoke from the burning houses rose into the air.
"HeroBrine and his ratchet father EnderBrine attacked us in our sleep. We were unprepared. We tried putting up a fight—but as you can see—we lost," Henry responded.
"How is it that they're always one step ahead of us? First they attacked Merlin's home, and now our home? This is quite frustrating. They truly are trying to stop us from saving the OverWorld," Daniel questioned as he started to become angry.
"How are you the only survivor alive right now, Henry?" Daniel questioned as he started to become suspicious of Henry's story.
Henry started walking towards Daniel and Ceres slowly. Ceres and Daniel began backing away from Henry—slowly of course.
"I was the smartest of them all, Daniel," Henry said, "I went into hiding until the attack concluded."
"Leaving the others to fight for themselves?" Daniel said angrily.
"That's not how I thought of it. Everyone fought with nobility, Daniel!" Henry said as he was beginning to grow frustrated with the accusations Daniel was saying.
"But you remained in hiding, leaving my friends—no wait—our friends to die?"
"Well they didn't die for nothing, Daniel," Henry said, "they fought nobly until the very end."
Daniel and Ceres continued to back away, stopping as they came upon the remains of a house that once stood sturdy. They were now stuck. Henry was acting weird.
"Henry!" Daniel snapped angrily, "what has overcome you? You were never this way before. So why now?"
"I've been having a change of thought lately. Seeing a new perspective of this dying world. Ever wondered how I knew so much about Mineaggedon? Hmm?"
As he said that, both Ceres and Daniel gasped. They had realized something they failed to realize in the past. Henry, it turns out, is working alongside HeroBrine and EnderBrine.
"No!" Daniel said, "it can't be true!"
"I'm surprised it took you this long to realize my intentions and plans. To be honest, I wasn't always this way. But, while on one of my adventures, I came across HeroBrine, EnderBrine, and NetherBrine. They showed me what power really looks like. They promised me that if I helped them succeed with their plan to rule the entire BlockVerse, I would be given extraordinary powers!"
"You're a traitor to your people and me and Ceres!" Daniel shouted angrily.
"Well done, Henry," A demonic sounding voice said as a figure descended from the cloudy skies above. Once the figure touched the gravel, Daniel and Ceres saw who Henry was standing besides.
"HeroBrine!" Daniel said.
"In the flesh. Did you guys miss me?" HeroBrine asked.
"No, not really."
"Didn't miss you one bit!" Ceres said.
"Ouch! That hurts my non-existent heart," HeroBrine said, "but I can manage. I am evil after all, am I not?"
"You actually are. Very evil indeed. Very evil," Ceres said.
HeroBrine laughed demonically. He pointed at Ceres and then looked at Henry.
"Someone, at least, thinks I'm evil!" HeroBrine said.
"You are evil, HeroBrine," Henry said, "I've never had a doubt."
"Good!" HeroBrine responded.
"What do you want me to do with them now?" Henry asked.
HeroBrine grabbed a netherite sword out of his inventory. The tip of the sword was glowing a bright green. Turns out, the sword was crafted with the potion of poison.
"Finish them off of course," HeroBrine answered Henry as he handed the sword to him. Henry grabbed the sword out of HeroBrine's hand.
After closely examining the strong, black sword, he glanced over at Ceres and Daniel. Henry seemed to struggle and hesitate. Killing the people he knew, kind of upsetting him. HeroBrine crossed his arms and sighed a long sigh.
"If you're going to prove your worth to me and my father, you will do as I say and kill them!" HeroBrine stated, "remember what we promised you Henry. If you don't do this, I'll just have to do it myself then."
Henry glanced over to his right HeroBrine. HeroBrine started tapping his foot. He was becoming frustrated with Henry all of a sudden.
"Okay, okay!" Henry said as he agreed to follow HeroBrine's orders, "I'll do it. I'll finish them off!"
"What's the hold up traitor?" Daniel questioned, "too big of a chicken to kill us?"
Henry looked back at Daniel and Ceres and stared at them. Henry has already lost a lot of his friends because of his evil actions. Losing Daniel, his best friend, would devastate him. Ceres, on the other hand, would find a quick way to escape. Wizards and Warlocks are tricky people to catch with how skilled they are with magic.
"Daniel," Ceres whispered, "I'm going to throw this. When I do, run as fast as you can."
Daniel nodded slowly so that HeroBrine and Henry didn't suspect their escape attempt plan. Ceres was holding a splash potion of invisibility in his hand. Eventually, when Ceres throws the bottle, it would turn both of them invisible for a short time. That would give them enough time to escape.
"Do it now Henry! Do it now or I will!" HeroBrine ordered. He was now extremely mad at Henry for hesitating to carry out his simple order.
"Three," Ceres said as he started counting down from the number three, "two."
"What are you guys doing?" HeroBrine said as he glanced over at Ceres and Daniel. He uncrossed his arms and approached the two of them.
As he approached Ceres and Daniel, Ceres threw the glass bottle onto the ground. Immediately Daniel and Ceres turned invisible.
"Run, Daniel! Run!" Ceres said as they jumped over the cobblestone blocks and began running away.
HeroBrine and Henry began chasing after them. But they couldn't see what direction they were running away in. As for Ceres and Daniel, they had the advantage of getting away from HeroBrine and Henry.
"Head into the woods," Ceres shouted as they continued running. They are still being chased.
"To be fair, I didn't see that one coming. That was unexpected," HeroBrine told Henry. They both stopped running, giving up on trying to recapture Daniel and Ceres.
"Why are we stopping? That potion won't last forever. We can still get them," Henry said, kind of upset at the fact that they were giving up.
"We'll see them again very, very soon. Let them have this moment. They deserved it after all. Just wait until they see what we have in store for them!"
HeroBrines Mansion
Woodlands Biome
Afternoon
"Just stay quiet for one second, would ya?" Petra whispered to Merlin.
They were cautiously walking down the long, dark hallway of the mansion. There was a gigantic hole in the roof. The walls and floors were all burnt and destroyed.
"It's almost as if they didn't care to repair what has been damaged," Petra mentioned. "This place gives me the chills."
"Don't let your fear overcome you. This isn't going to take long. All we need is the book and crystal. That's it," Merlin mentioned. "It's an easy task if you ask me."
"Sounds easier said than done," Petra responded.
"If you say so," Merlin said, "now where is HeroBrines library? Daniel said the book is in that library."
"The Library should be down the hallway and then to our right. The door will be on your left Merlin," Petra stated.
"Got it. Loud and clear."
As they were about to turn down into another hallway, faint voices could be heard in the distance. One of the voices was recognizable, while the other was not.
"Shh," Petra shushed Merlin, "get up against the wall."
Merlin did just that. His back was now resting up against the wall. Petra peaked around the corner carefully and cautiously to see who was talking.
Before her very eyes, she saw EnderBrine talking to his youngest son NetherBrine. NetherBrines head was on fire and burning. His eyes were glowing a bright red.
"We really fooled them. Didn't we father?" NetherBrine said in a happy tone. "Just wait until they see me again tomorrow night!"
"I can see their priceless reactions already. I have no doubt in my mind that we'll lose this fight. We only need to hold them off a little while longer. That way, Mineaggedon can transition into its final day of destruction."
"That will be easy without a doubt," NetherBrine stated, "they don't stand a chance!"
"Gotta tell you son," EnderBrine said, "I like your enthusiasm and outlook on our future. Come dusk tomorrow night, the OverWorld will be no more."
Petra stopped ease-dropping on their conversation. She had just found out that NetherBrine never really died. He's been alive the entire time. But how?
"Merlin?" Petra whispered, "did you know NetherBrine was still alive?"
"He's what?" Merlin asked confused, "he's alive?"
Merlin was shocked. He covered his mouth with his hand and looked down at the floor.
"Elena never killed NetherBrine," Merlin said as he tried to remember the attack from the night before, "it was all a part of their grand scheme. To make us think he really did die. We need to warn Daniel and Ceres right now."
"You think? They need to know what's going to happen!" Petra mentioned.
Petra peaked around the corner again and looked down the hallway at EnderBrine and NetherBrine again. Only this time they were nowhere to be seen. They vanished. What if they heard her and Merlin talking? Do EnderBrine and NetherBrine know they're here?
"Looks like the coast is clear," Petra whispered, "follow me and stay quiet. I'd prefer not to stay another night here as their prisoner again."
"I'm right behind you," Merlin whispered back to Petra.
The library they were looking for was now visible. The library was oddly lit up. There must be a fire in there," Petra said as she and Merlin crept up to the door and peeked inside to make sure EnderBrine and NetherBrine weren't in the room. Luckily, they weren't.
Petra opened the dark oak wood door and walked into HeroBrine's private book collection library. Petra put her sword into her inventory.
There were bookshelves in the corner of the room filled with books. She walked up to the bookshelf. She began reading all of the titles until she came upon the one she was looking for.
"The Pirates Invasion? The Evil Queen Rises? Mineaggedon: The End of the OverWorld?" Petra read the titles aloud. She grabbed the book that had a blue cover. The book she grabbed was titled Secrets of the Forbidden Cave.
"Did you find it?" Merlin asked as he was keeping watch over by the door. The last thing they needed was for EnderBrine and NetherBrine to sneak up on them, right?
"Yeah," Petra said, "now all I need now is that darn crystal of life thingy. Once I have that, we can leave."
There was a chest next to the bookshelf. Why was a random chest in a room full of books anyways? She put the book into her inventory and got down onto her knees.
She opened the chest and began digging around in it, tossing unwanted items out onto the floor. Once she found the crystal, both her and Merlin could flee the Mansion and save the OverWorld.
"Found it!" Petra said as she held the white, shiny crystal high into the air above her head. She got back up onto her feet and closed the chest. "Now let's get going. We have everything we need."
"Congratulations you two," EnderBrine said as he applauded Petra and Merlin for stealing. "I have to say...I'm impressed. Now you have the upper hand. Congrats!"
"No thanks or congrats needed, demon!" Petra said.
"I was just trying to be nice. I love that you're trying to save the OverWorld and all, but you're going to fail either way," EnderBrine said, "so why don't you give me back the crystal and the book?"
"Not gonna happen loser!" Merlin shouted at EnderBrine. "You're going to surrender now or else."
"Or else what?" EnderBrine asked, "you're going to kill me? Nice try. I'm immortal you dumb blockheads. I can't die!"
"We'll see about that!" Petra said as she threw a potion of slowness at EnderBrine, causing him to move slowly. Merlin and Petra made a run for it.
Before EnderBrine or NetherBrine could catch up to them, they were gone. They had just suddenly vanished into thin air.
"Our plan is going to fall apart if they find the Forbidden Cave!" EnderBrine shouted angrily, "we can't let that happen!"
"Do you want me to go after them, father?" NetherBrine asked.
"Yes! Now go!"
