CHAPTER 98

Scarlet, along with her army of five hundred million elite Warlords and two thousand epic warriors, was ready to launch the assault she had planned for days with Hazard. However, as the minutes passed, no matter how many messages she sent to Hazard, she received no response.

"What's going on?"

Something felt off. The Undead were not as coordinated as before—at times, one Undead would attack another, only to be destroyed by the others. The sorceresses were flying around in confusion, while the occasional sounds of skirmishes echoed around.

"What are you doing?"

As Scarlet, bewildered, approached Hazard's inner realm, she noticed an even deeper level of chaos. Epic Undead creatures of various forms were attacking each other and others around them. Some helped the sorceresses and Undead restrain the aggressors and imprison them, only to suddenly turn and attack their own allies. In one word—Hazard's realm was in pure disorder, and only a few, aided by legendary dragons and behemoths, could contain the madness and throw the rogue Undead into prisons.

Amidst this turmoil, Scarlet spotted Hezhna, Genibas, and an unfamiliar woman named Sersea together. She didn't recognize Sersea, but Hezhna was a high-ranking figure in Hazard's domain, and Genibas, according to Hazard, was both his research partner and mentor.

"Hezhna!"

She flew towards Hezhna in her human form, accompanied by ten epic ant guardians. Hezhna bowed upon seeing her, showing respect.

"Your Majesty, Scarlet! I sincerely apologize for this sight. The King is currently engaged in something, and we have lost control over some of the Undead."

"Hazard is doing something?"

Scarlet's gaze shifted toward the castle, but she detected no legendary aura—only the presence of a legendary dragon.

"I had heard that Hazard raised a legendary dragon..."

The thought of the immense energy from a dragon's corpse made her salivate, but her eyes were still searching for Hazard—yet he was nowhere to be found.

"The King will likely return soon—perhaps in a few days! You can proceed with the assault. The Legion of Living Armor and our bandit army are currently stationed at the border and can join you."

Scarlet checked her friends' list, sensing that something terrible had happened to Hazard. She tried to verify if he was still alive, but then she saw something that shocked her.

"Out of reach?"

She turned to Hezhna.

"Hazard isn't dead, but where the hell did he go that he's out of reach?"

Hezhna, relieved to hear that Hazard was alive, still had to deal with the powerful queen and her army.

"We don't know, but we believe he could return at any moment."

Scarlet frowned, her jaw clenching repeatedly. The uncertainty frustrated her, and because of their contract, she couldn't harm Hazard's minions—something that infuriated her even more.

"He better return soon, or else any land I take will be mine!"

Angry, she left Hazard's inner realm, which was protected by spirit towers and walls, but her mind was still preoccupied with his whereabouts.

"Where are you?!"

If Hazard were dead, the contract would be nullified, and she could seize his territory. But the system marked him as "out of reach"—a state Scarlet had never seen before.

She then returned to her main army and began commanding her subordinate Demon Kings, though her eyes remained locked on the distant castle.

"The Undead King has vanished, and until he returns, any land we take from the Empire belongs to us!"

The news was well received by the other Demon Kings, who desperately needed suitable land for their forces. With renewed enthusiasm, they advanced.

Meanwhile, on another continent, two armies faced off. The Demon Kings' army had no intention of fighting and sought to flee, but their opponents were not going to allow such an easy escape.

A hundred-million-strong army from the Southern Continent, under the command of Demon King Warlord, had just conquered a fortress and planned to reunite with their main forces. However, their fate fell into the hands of Amon—something that did not bode well for them.

Detecting fifty epic warriors and two legendary ones in the enemy ranks, they immediately opted for retreat. But for those below Warlord level, fleeing from intelligent, epic creatures was impossible.

A brutal slaughter ensued, in which five hundred powerful Demon Kings of the Cabel faction were buried in a single day. Upon learning that yet another formidable player had appeared on the continent, Cabel abandoned his ambitions and teleported back to his home continent along with his forces.

This was good news for the Succubus Queen Kaya's faction, which had been significantly weakened and now had only four hundred Demon Kings and a total of one hundred million troops left.

"Kaya, it's time to surrender!"

Her friend, a demonic queen of the Devil's Flower race, begged her to give up. A hostile army that massacred every enemy in its path was now marching towards their capital—an army of four hundred million troops and two legendary warriors. Kaya knew she was no match for them.

"Surrender? That bastard has only united one Demon King under his command and allied with our mortal enemy! Do you want me to die?!"

"But..."

"But what? Sure, maybe you'd be spared, but I'd be executed on the spot!"

"Then what do you plan to do?! How will you stop them?"

Kaya gritted her teeth before finally deciding to seek help from someone she absolutely despised.

"If I give him control of the alliance, I'm sure he'll help us..."

Her friend frowned.

"If you mean him, then our lives are in danger! He's reached the legendary level—what guarantee do we have that he won't kill us?!"

Kaya's face turned grim.

"Either way, we're doomed. This is our only chance..."

With that, she made her decision—to send a message to the most sadistic player on the server, the Demon King with the most powerful race in the game, who called himself the "Demon Emperor" and had declared war on everyone. She requested that he take control of their alliance.
