Alastair relaxes a moment later upon realizing who it is.
“This is all very touching,” Lea comments, although, given the way she is avoiding their eyes, she is more embarrassed to have caught them hugging and crying than any of the times she’s almost caught them kissing. “But it’s getting late and I don’t want to be out after dark with vampires actively trying to hunt me.”
Oliver laughs at this. Alastair does not. Oliver wraps his arms around Alastair now that there isn’t a cat in the way and then proceeds to wipe his tearful eyes on Alastair’s borrowed shirt. Absurdly, Alastair feels glad that he’s wearing something soft enough for Oliver’s face.
“Where are you going?” Oliver asks, eyes clearer as he peeks out from inside Alatasir’s arms to speak to his sister.
“Carter said I could crash on their couch,” she informs him.
