Chapter 39: Look At Me

*BONNIE’S POV*

After her strange chat with Magnus, the day seemed to have dragged on. But there was no sign of Marcus.

Bonnie waited. And waited...and waited.

The sky had gone through its traditional cycle where soon it was becoming dark, and the room was casted with various shadows. Better still, Bonnie had not moved from that exact spot. Her stomach was running on empty and she fought the urge to at least get up to take a proper shower after the morning she had endured.

‘No. I am not moving until he comes back here,’ she told herself. ‘And when he does, he is going to answer my questions.’

Unfortunately, Bonnie couldn’t think beyond that point in her mind. She couldn’t make any grand executive decisions in her head about what she was planning on doing. The idea of attempting to flee The Mad House seemed pointless when Marcus could easily track her down. Where was she to go in that case? Back to campus? Her agency?
