*BONNIE’S POV*
Bonnie had spent the last several hours sitting in the library in nothing but total silence with her thoughts and feelings. And once again, her conscience was h*ll bent on playing the role as the devil’s advocate in her mind.
With every calming thought, her inner voice returned with a snarky, thundering remark that would leave her feeling angry or just plain stupid.
‘How could you not have figured out that this man was involved in something as dangerous as the mafia?’ her conscience scolded her.
And that inner voice always came with a good point. Marcus was a naturally domineering person, but with her, he constantly used that personality trait in a smooth and caring manner. Yes, he was assertive, but never with negative intention.
‘Alright, well how about the fact that the man literally has a building full of people that are constantly at his beck and call? How many people do you know that have that kind of power?’
