Chapter 33: The Woman in Red

Maya followed the bouncer she lured away from the door for Kade into the alley. It was a small, narrow alley surrounded by brick walls on both sides. The only objects that occupied the narrow space were a couple of dumpsters and a single door, which she imagined was a side door in and out of the club. Perhaps to throw trash away for the night or for employees to leave out if they chose to avoid the crowd at the front door. Whatever the case was, there was no knob or handle to the door on the outside.

It made no difference to her whether it was there or not. Her intention was only to lure him back here so she could incapacitate him and then move to meet Kade inside. Maya had no desire to seduce this man. Even if she did, now wasn’t the time to be playing games. Jamison’s life was on the line and Kade had made it clear to her already that recovering him was their first priority.
