Chapter 20: Unyielding Pride

Willow was an idiot; Lilith was certain of this. She was an idiot who, while clearly very book smart, lacked a few things needed to survive on the streets of Portland. More than knowing how to stitch a wound was how to gut a fish, how to steal a nearby library’s wifi, and so much more

And most importantly, knowing not to walk headfirst into a trap.

Lilith darted between shadows, drifting through buildings like a wraith as she did her best to get ahead of Willow, her kinda sorta girlfriend, and for the unlife of her, she was wondering when Willow got her to care that much.

Willow had come into her unlife like a house fire, unexpected and unwelcomed. But that house fire had settled into a warm, carefully set blaze in the fireplace. Willow helped people with her practice and didn’t turn away those of more fantastical origins.
