Chapter 11: Doubts

"Well, this is mighty grand," Ramses voice reverberated through the room, as the door to Kara’s chambers opened.

Startled, Kara leaped from her bed, her head swiftly turning toward the source of the sound. Overwhelmed with joy at the sight of her family, she let out a shriek of excitement, dashing towards the door in a burst of energy.

"Mother, Ramses, Cairo!" she exclaimed, wrapping them in tight embraces. "Oh, how I’ve missed you! Why haven’t you come to visit?"

"Ramses and I have been overseeing the shipment of vital resources to Javeni, while mother has been assisting us in choosing suitable partners," Cairo explained, his gaze sweeping across the room.

He turned his attention back to Kara, offering her a gentle smile. Drawing her close, he embraced her tightly, cocooning her in his protective arms. "Have they treated you well here? Has the King been kind to you?"
