The main road was two lines and commercial buildings were situated on both sides with alternating small alleyways to the secondary roads, This was the main street that caters to all the needs of the residents of this once highly populated area, including grocery stores, restaurants, and various shops. However, over time, the area experienced a decline in population, resulting in some of the commercial buildings being abandoned or repurposed for other uses. Despite this change, the main street still retains its charm and serves as a reminder of the bustling community it once was.
Grey has spent his entire life walking these streets and every establishment was no exception, including the old bakery that used to fill the air with the scent of freshly baked bread and the corner café where locals would gather for their morning coffee. The memories of vibrant conversations and laughter still echo in Grey's mind as he continues to stroll down the familiar sidewalks, cherishing the remnants of a bygone era.
This time he was no longer sightseeing; he was coordinating a plan of attack as he selected the best place to trap the mutated Vile that was hunting him. His once peaceful streets now felt ominous, with shadows lurking on every corner. Grey's heart raced as he assessed each potential spot, knowing that their survival depended on his strategic decision-making. He couldn't help but wonder if the town he once knew would ever be the same again after this battle with the unknown.
Grey decided to lure the mutated Vile into an alley between the bakery and a pawn shop, knowing very well that it was a dead end, and because the Vile was only interested in eating him, Lailah was able to get on top of the pawn shop building and secure a Climbing rope at the side of the two storey building,
all the running and evading in specific places was to give his team the opportunity to set his plan in motion, it is why Grey was all over the place, it was for this moment, Lailah wave her hand on top of the building, as he looks up and saw his team was already in place, the alleyway opening was wide enough to fit a small compact car and long enough to park four,
This was the only alleyway with a walled dead end, the perfect place in case the vile, Lailah was on the top end of the two-story building and Maeve was on the opposite wood stove bakery building; both of them were fully armed; Lailah was aiming her using a JG201 sub-machinegun while Maeve was holding an SRS-A2 Covert. As soon as Grey turned left and entered the designated location, the vile soon followed and saw the planted explosives that Levi and Esther had at the end of the alleyway.
All six bombs were ready, as were Amid and Lucia, who was in front of the alleyway where a coffee shop was located, hiding behind a shop counter table ready to provide cover fire, while Lailah and Maeve exchanged a determined glance, knowing that their synchronized firepower would be crucial in protecting Levi and Esther during the explosive detonation. With their hearts pounding, they braced themselves for the impending chaos about to unfold.
While Amid, Lucia, and Saad were sniping ghouls around the perimeter so there would be no unwanted stampede and suddenly surround them, they remained focused on their task, ensuring that Levi and Esther would have a clear path to safety as they had limited ammo and were more focused on carrying C4. As they were seen running away from the blast area, the team knew that time was of the essence. They relied on their training and trust in each other to execute the mission flawlessly, knowing that any mistake could have dire consequences.
Amid's steady aim, Lucia's precision shots, and Saad's expert positioning made them an unstoppable force against the ghouls, providing an extra layer of protection for their comrades as they were positioned at the highest building in the area; they were on top of a water tower, providing them with a strategic advantage. From their vantage point, they could survey the entire battlefield and coordinate their movements accordingly. With every successful shot and coordinated manoeuvre, their confidence grew, knowing that they were making a significant impact in neutralizing the threat.
As Grey was nearing the Dead end and grabbing hold of the climbing rope, the mutated Vile came running toward him with its huge mouth opened wide, emitting a terrifying screech that sent shivers down Maeve's spine. that made her scream; this alerted the creature, and when it saw somebody on the bakery rooftop, a certain familiarity made the beast change its direction.
Grey quickly changed the plan because of what happened; Maeve was now in danger. Two meters away from him were the first two C4 explosives. that were set up to be activated by being shot by an outside force. Grey knew he had to act fast to protect Maeve, so he swiftly grabbed his 45 ACP and aimed at the explosives, taking a deep breath before pulling the trigger. The deafening explosion echoed through the air, causing Vile to stumble and giving Grey a chance to climb up to reach Maeve's side.
But the Vile screamed out their names as it stood up and became more agile. Because of the blast explosion, it suffered some injuries. Grey finally saw Maeve unconscious as soon as he grabbed her hand. Lailah shouted to his Brother to watch out, as the mutated vile suddenly grew long tentacle arms and was more of a crab. The vile creature's transformation sent a shiver down Grey's spine, but he refused to let fear paralyze him.
With determination in his eyes, he tightened his grip on Maeve's hand and prepared to face the monstrous abomination head-on. As the mutated vile lunged towards them with its menacing tentacle arms, Grey was forced to let go of Maeve and toss him as far as he could while the vile tentacles were wrapped around his waist, constantly pulling him in. As the vile was still on the edge of the bakery building wall, Grey opened fire at its mouth
Lailah saw what was happening and ordered the rest to give his brother some assistance, so with that single word, Grey grabbed tightly at an exhaust pipe sticking on the bakery roof, using it as leverage to resist the relentless pull of the vile's tentacles. With his free hand, he continued to shoot at the vile, and soon a coordinated attack started to rain bullets, hitting the mutated Vile with pinpoint accuracy.
causing it to recoil in pain. Grey was also wounded because of the monster's hold on his body, but with their help, he was able to shoot the thick tentacle arm until it was torn apart and was about to fall. Grey unpinned a grenade and threw it in its mouth as it exploded. The blast made the foul abomination fall.
escaping the clutches of the mutated creature. From this elevated position, he shouts, Open fire and kill it. Amid and Lucia shoot the remaining planted bombs. and all three simultaneously exploded. and being bombarded with bullets, the creature wailed in pain. Lailah was covering her ears as the sounds of gunfire focused on one place.
The closed alleyway was filled with smoke and the acrid smell of burning flesh. Grey, his eyes stinging from the smoke, cautiously approached the fallen creature, ready to deliver a final blow if necessary. The once terrifying abomination now lay motionless, defeated by their relentless assault.
But Grey felt it was too easy; as the smoke finally cleared, he saw it was no longer moving and ordered his team to stay in their position, but out of concern for his brother's safety, she ignored his order and came near the edge of the opposite building to check.
Grey saw the vile was still alive as he grabbed another grenade; it was already able to wrap its long tentacles around his sister's body, pulling her towards its grotesque mouth. With a surge of adrenaline, Grey jumps towards his sister, determined to save her from the clutches of the abomination.
As he reached her, he unleashed all the bullets in his gun until she was able to use the dangling climbing rope and just grab it while he held her sister's falling body and pulled her near the safety of his own body and wrapped his legs around her. and with his free hand, just throw the entire grenade belt into its mouth and release the full force of the grenade,
adding the reaming two C4 that didn't explode, obliterating the creature with a powerful blast but severely injuring Grey and leaving his sister unconscious. Maeve Thatcher saw everything, but she was too far away to do anything to help at the moment. As Grey lay injured and his sister unconscious, Maeve desperately searched for a way to reach them, her heart pounding with fear and determination. She knew that time was running out and that she needed to find help quickly before it was too late.
The small vile of blood that Grey made into a pendant was shattered, and all of its content poured on both of them as Grey was as pieces of metal debris ricocheted toward his back, severely wounding him. Despite the excruciating pain, Grey managed to shield his younger sister next to him from harm.
As they both lay there on the ground, covered in blood, something was now released and awakened as the large portion of unknown blood mixed into Grey's body by entering his chest, as the glass vile punctured his chest when it broke from the impact of the blast, while the remaining blood got absorbed by his sister's open head wound.
As Grey and his sister lay there, the mysterious blood began to have an immediate effect on their bodies. They could feel a surge of energy coursing through their veins, and a strange sensation of power started to overcome them. Little did they know that this incident would mark the beginning of an extraordinary journey filled with unforeseen consequences.
