The security of the Alpha Bunker was re-enforced already to stop a nuclear blast, the very door entrance was still far from the man-made tunnel opening about 20 feet high and 30 feet wide, upon entering two 5 x 5 turret bunkers could be seen on both sides and another after 25 meters and the last turret bunker was on the actual first gate were they place most of the military vehicles,
the main gate was divided into two the primary and the secondary both were made of solid constructed of steel, with a fitted steel lintel and frame welded to the steel reinforcement of the concrete. The shelter should be located so that there is no combustible material directly outside it. both were 20 tons in weight, these blast shelter doors were constructed to survive several hundred psi. to decrease the likelihood that a bomb can harm the inner and outer structure and surrounded by solid heavy bedrock,
providing additional protection against the impact of an explosion. The doors were designed with multiple layers of reinforced steel and equipped with airtight seals to prevent any leakage of harmful gases or radiation. This comprehensive construction ensured that the blast shelter could withstand extreme forces and maintain a secure environment for its occupants.
entering the secondary door will only be granted upon inspection, this second gate was created to open if the primary gate is closed and it was designed to be manually operated, provided supplies of electricity or gas are unreliable, the secondary door serves as a backup in case of any unforeseen circumstances that may render the primary gate inoperable. Its manual operation ensures that access can still be granted even during power outages or gas shortages, ensuring a reliable and secure entry point at all times.
upon entering the inner part after the secondary gate was wide and had a high ceiling, about 40 feet high and 200 feet wide 400 feet long with numerous support beams and walkways could be seen as the ceiling was also re-fitted with a large number of pipes to accommodate clean water and equip with air ventilation were provided to prevent heat prostration.
so they decided the simplest form to cool a shelter is a wide, heavy frame with flaps that swings in the shelter's doorway and can be swung from hinges on the ceiling. and was re-fitted with a more suitable air filtration to stop chemical, biological and nuclear impurities which may abound after the explosion, engineers that were brought in by Carter Industries made sure the structure was refurbished to outstand any kind of disaster especially since they were facing the unknown, normal thinking was no longer applied,
Ventilation openings in a bunker were protected by blast valves. and they spend large amounts of manpower to include water-cooling or an immersion tube and breathing tubes to protect inhabitants, large amounts of ventilation or air-conditioning provided to prevent heat prostration,
as they pass the secondary checkpoint they were greeted by their families and treated for their minor wounds but this was another successful operation, Grey gave his team a day off to spend with their loved ones, and while some graciously accepted his command a few continued to work inside the bunker especially those who were not just combatants but were also a member of the Alpha communities manpower,
Grey went to see his uncle and gave them the information that he had just encountered and shared vital new information about the madness's origin and who might have orchestrated it, leaving his Uncle astonished by the revelations. As they delved deeper into the details, Grey's Uncle realized the gravity of the situation and immediately began formulating a plan to counter the mutation.
Grey was wearing a bodycam and was able to record everything, even the part where he risked his life to save his sister from the clutches of the mutated creatures. The footage captured on Grey's bodycam would later become crucial evidence in understanding the extent of the madness and devising a strategy to combat it effectively, especially the type of ammo they need to use.
Major Andrew Dan Chevalier coordinated with other bunker communities in other locations and inquired about the mutated fused vile, as they were known to have encountered similar creatures in their areas. He wanted to gather as much information as possible to determine if these creatures were a localized threat or if they posed a larger danger to all surviving communities.
The council never expected that this phenomenon would occur in just a few years; the scientists and experts with them already expected this, but because of the nuclear fallout and because all of the governments all over the world decided and quickly responded to disarm their weapons of mass destruction, the infected People that succumbed to the madness were unable to detonate all of those remaining weapons, and half of mankind was able to survive.
News about the Magus Alliance was expanding its influence among many citizens, who were now gaining hope that their lives would return to normal. Countries in Europe that were widely devastated by this madness slowly regained their land, and some even confirmed they were free permanently from the Madness as holy relics were used to create unseen protection barriers all over their cities, and some were able to create holy items to be worn to ensure the madness would never affect them.
All of this information was broadcast, and many rejoiced, but not everybody was easily convinced, especially the community living in the Alpha bunker, who thought that the solution was too easy.
They believed that there must be a catch or hidden consequence to this newfound freedom. Their skepticism stemmed from their deep-rooted mistrust of quick fixes and their belief that true liberation required sacrifice and struggle. As the rest of the world celebrated, the Alpha Bunker community remained vigilant, determined to uncover the truth behind this seemingly miraculous solution.
so the council gathered all their members as if they wanted to resume their normal life outside, all one thousand members declined to say its to early to put their guard down and be at ease considering they still have to idea who or what started this calamity, and if the reports were true,
the study of the infected was still inconclusive and unreliable,
some even testified that they saw the change in the personality of those that became Ghouls and Vile, those two totally have no similarity, ghouls were mindless and were just hungrily fueled dead creatures, it was observed getting bitten to death by those things instantly turns the victim into one of them was still an indefinite confirmation, there are so many factors that must be considered, they never had the opportunity to test all of their theories without sacrificing the safety of their people,
They were brought into the bunker with the sole purpose of surviving and not facilitating scientific research on the spreading infection. Melissa Rose Chevalier asked them a question concerning the future; she wanted to know if they were willing to conduct verification of those reports by conducting their own test. This question made everybody quiet as they pondered the implications. The weight of responsibility hung heavy in the air, as each person contemplated the risks and uncertainties involved in conducting their own tests. Some wondered if it was worth risking their lives for the sake of verifying reports, while others saw it as a necessary step towards finding a solution and regaining control over their lives.
Dr. George and Rebecca Collins stepped forward as they gave their answers. As part of the council, they conveyed a simple and logical reply. They explained explaine they were finding the reports to be unrealistic and not supported by scientific evidence. They emphasized the importance of relying on credible sources and experts in order to make informed decisions. The couple also stressed the need for collective action and unity in tackling the crisis, rather than individuals taking unnecessary risks.
They gave it a thought, and the only to finally get the answers they needed was to conduct a controlled test outside the community bunker and observe the results firsthand. They understood that relying solely on reports and hearsay would not provide them with the accurate information they sought. By conducting their own experiment, they could gather empirical evidence and draw conclusions based on their own observations, allowing them to make informed decisions about their safety and well-being.
But with certain conditions: first, the location must be far from the main bunker, and second, the implementing rules that they observe and follow here must also be applied at the research facility. Third, no test will be conducted without ensuring the safety of the people there. All staff that will join this controlled test must be aware and skilled enough to fight any potential dangers that may arise. Additionally, regular safety drills and training sessions will be conducted to ensure that all staff members are well-prepared for any emergency situations. This comprehensive approach will not only empower individuals to make informed decisions about their safety but also create a secure and resilient environment for everyone involved in the research facility.
Everybody heard their response and was given a day to vote if this was a reasonable and logical answer to their questions. The voting process allowed for a democratic and inclusive decision-making process, ensuring that everyone's opinions were heard and valued. This approach promotes transparency and fosters a sense of ownership among the staff members, ultimately leading to a stronger and more cohesive community.
They have encountered these threats, and as the council believes the best teacher in life is a personal experience, all non-combatants were given the opportunity to face one of these creatures head-on and were supervised to reduce any phycological burden and gain the first-hand realization that this was real and true.
So everybody has experience killing ghouls, but facing Vile was different because they were so normal, interacted, and could communicate, as their thinking was the only thing that changed, whether they were young or old. Without any exceptions, a Vile can be an old grandfather or a ten-year-old child, yet their behavior and actions were always sinister and malevolent.
The unsettling aspect was that, despite their outward appearance, Viles possessed an uncanny ability to manipulate emotions and deceive others, making it challenging to discern their true intentions. This made the encounter with Vile all the more unnerving, as it forced individuals to confront the unsettling reality that evil could reside within anyone, regardless of age or gender.
The only indication they were vile was their putrid fishy smell and red eyes. Facing Vile was a unique challenge as it required individuals to overcome their initial instincts and confront the fact that these creatures were once humans. The personal experience of interacting with Vile made it clear that appearances can be deceiving, emphasizing the importance of relying on more than just physical indicators to identify potential threats.
So after a day, finally the vote came in, and it was a decision to gain conclusive answers to their inquiries and nothing more, finding ways to help the infected but never at the expense of their own safety. They understood that their initial instincts might not always be accurate and that it was crucial to approach the situation with caution and prioritize their own well-being while still seeking solutions for the infected individuals. The decision reflected their commitment to finding a balance between empathy and self-preservation in this challenging situation.
The Thatcher family offered their land to be used as the testing facility; their land is easy to landscape, and they are too old to manage the land. This was their chance to repay their kindness by letting them stay even if they hardly contributed anything. Additionally, the Thatcher family recognized the importance of contributing to the greater good during this crisis. They understood that offering their land as a testing facility would not only benefit the infected individuals but also contribute to finding a solution for the entire community. This selfless act showcased their unwavering dedication to helping others in need. This act of selflessness further strengthened the bond between the community members, inspiring others to find unique ways to support each other during these trying times.
Mr. Jonathan S. Carter, the Third, and Thomas Blair took the stand and gave their support and assurance that he would open all of his remaining supply warehouses to build them the best and most well-equipped testing facility. They just need a place to secure the test subjects and keep all of them safe.
The plan is to use Thomas Blair's great mind and his engineering team to build a remote-controlled Industrial robot that is capable of movement in a closed space to be used to administer the test while minimizing the risk of human exposure. This innovative solution will not only ensure the safety of the test subjects but also allow for efficient and accurate data collection during these challenging times.
Dr George and Rebecca Collins smiled at the two master builders, mentioning that they are scientists by heart but never foolish ones; they will never risk their lives just to get results, and sacrificing one's life to save another was indeed an honorable act, but staying alive is much more practical and beneficial to the rest, especially to their daughter, who depended on them for love and support. They knew that prioritizing their safety would not only benefit their family but also enable them to continue their important research and make a positive impact.
