They sat in silence for a few minutes, waiting for the doctor to come in and check on them.
The doctor arrived shortly after. He was a young man with glasses and a friendly face. "Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Hawley," he said. "How are we today?"
"We're fine, thank you," they both said.
"That's good to hear," the doctor said. "Let me take a look at your chart." He picked up the chart from the table and scanned it quickly. "Your blood tests look good," he said. "Your inflammation markers are down and your liver function is normal."
"That's good news," Lucia's grandpa chuckled.
"Yes, it is," the doctor said. "It means that methotrexate is working for you." He put down the chart and examined Mr. Hawley's joints with his hands. "How do they feel?" he asked.
"They feel better than before," Lucia's grandpa answered.
