Walking Through A Strange Door

"Ooh, okay. Is she the one who took you out drinking last time?" Rose's voice was laced with intrigue.

"Yeah," Lucia admitted, and Rose's face lit up.

"I think I'll really like her; she seems fun," Rose declared, already anticipating the night ahead.

"Just be nice," Lucia cautioned, though she knew it was hardly necessary.

"Aren't I always?" Rose responded with feigned innocence.

As their conversation flowed, the cab pulled up to their destination. They paid the fare and stepped out into the cool night air. "I'm hungry," Rose complained, her pout visible even in the dim light.

"Why didn't you say that earlier? We could have gotten something. Anyway, we might find food here," Lucia reasoned, trying to assuage her friend's hunger.

Rose nodded, her gaze sweeping the unfamiliar surroundings. "Where the heck are we?" she wondered aloud.

"I don't know, hold on," Lucia said, reaching for her phone to call Samantha.
