A Tempting Offer

"I can arrange an introduction for you. Just relax. You're finally looking like the lustful demon I once knew."

Crawford, however, seemed lost in his own thoughts, his gaze still fixed on the stage. Oscar's words seemed to float past him, unheard.

With a shrug, Oscar turned to the others nearby, raising his glass. "Let's toast to the good life and sexy women," he declared.

As Oscar mingled, Crawford remained seated, his demeanor calm yet commanding.

Oscar returned, his glass now empty. "You're missing out on the fun, oh great King. Come on, live a little," he urged, nudging his shoulder.

Crawford finally turned, his eyes meeting Oscar's. "Some things are better appreciated in silence," he said, his voice low and even.

Oscar chuckled, shaking his head. "Always the philosopher. So annoying tsk."

Crawford smiled slightly. "You know why," he said, raising his glass. The liquid inside glowed, catching the light as he drowned its content.
