The smile on Lucia's face turned awkward. "I don't know about beauty, but I'm glad you enjoyed your visit," she deflected, focusing on professionalism.

"Me too," the man said, his gaze lingering a moment too long before he looked down to fill out the checkbook, placing his card within.

"Thank you," Lucia said as she took the booklet, her eyes catching the generous $50 tip he had left. "At least he's nice," she thought, her surprise giving way to a quick efficiency as she processed the payment and returned with his receipt and card.

"Thank you," he said, his fingers brushing against hers a little too deliberately as she pulled her hand away. What is wrong with this man? she wondered internally.

"Goodbye, sir," she said, maintaining her composure as the man echoed her farewell.
