Getting Down To Business

Rose stood in the doorway, her silhouette framed by the morning light. "Here we go, princess," she said with a playful smirk, tossing her hair over her shoulder.

Lucia, sprawled on the bed, let out a groan. "I'm not in the mood to face those annoying people," she said.

"Well, you better," Rose retorted, straightening up. "Anyways, I'm off for my morning jog. I made a sandwich; you can have that or make some ramen," she said, throwing a wink Lucia's way. "If you need me, I'll be at the park."

Lucia watched her walk away. "Bye," she said softly, silence settling over her as the door closed.

Alone with her thoughts, Lucia sluggishly sat up, running her hand through her tangled hair. She picked up her phone, checking for any missed calls, but there were none. "Same routine as always," she sighed, making her way to the bathroom.
