Lucia nestled into the couch, her body sinking into the cushions. "Let's relax now," she murmured, her eyelids fluttering shut. In the quiet of the room, her breaths deepened, and she drifted into a dreamlike state.
Lucia's heart raced as she found herself suddenly wide awake in the darkness. The only illumination came from the faint light filtering in from outside, casting a shadows across the room. "What just happened?" she whispered to herself, her voice barely audible in the silence.
Turning towards the window, Lucia's breath caught in her throat as she saw the silhouette of a figure standing outside. She felt her hair stand realizing it was her mother, she saw her mother's hands pressed against the glass, eyes fixed on hers.
Lucia's fear intensified as she noticed something unsettling — a thin trickle of blood running down her mother's pale face.
"Mom?" Lucia called out, as she approached the window.
