Hungover Pair

Beside her, Lucia nodded in agreement. "That meanie was dealt with," she said with a smirk.

Rose couldn't help but chuckle at Lucia's choice of words.

The wail of a police siren pierced the night, and Rose's heart sank as she caught the flashing lights in the rearview mirror. "Shit, shit, what do we do?" she cursed under her breath.

"Speed it up," Lucia slurred from the passenger seat, her words laced with a drunken bravado.

"I can't do that," Rose replied, panic clawing at her chest. "It will only get us in more trouble." With a sigh, she pulled the car over to the side of the road and turned to Lucia. "Don't say another word, just smile and nod, okay?"

Lucia nodded, her expression a mix of confusion and compliance.

The officer approached the vehicle, tapping on the window with a firm but polite knock. Rose rolled it down, her hands trembling slightly. "Good day, officer," she greeted, trying to keep her voice calm.
