The great hunt

No, he was not lost yet. He still breathed.

Yung Jae sent a messenger to Natasya for help. Hopefully, she would come and save the day by any means.

But she simply said she was busy with the main event and asked Yung Jae to meet her at the main city gate.

She didn't believe Choi came after him. She believed Choi Go was in prison. She thought Yung Jae tried to prank her.

Why does she even think like that?

He was so desperate he sent a distress message to every friend on his list. No luck. No one bothered checking his messenger. His friends were probably buried on leveling. Or already in the city.

Yung Jae was alone, abandoned, and facing these companies without hope for rescue.

At this moment, he knew he fuck up.

But, he could entice him to duel. He still had a chance to deliver a fatal blow. Perhaps, dragged him down to the void. Die together.

"Choi Cow, ah, Cow Fat, is that your name? Sorry if I miss spelling it." Yung Jae said. "I rarely care for some useless nobody's name."

"Say whatever you want, Dead Man." Choi Go answered. "You will learn, Choi always wins."

"Oh yeah?" Yung Jae twisted his lips up while mocking Choi Go. "Always, that's a big word from a sucker like you. How about you win in a duel against me?"

Yung Jae sent a duel challenge to Choi Go. Hopefully, he was brave enough to accept. This was Yung Jae's last-ditch effort for survival—the last hope to punch him to the death.

"Duel with lowly class players like you?" Choi Go guffawed long and harsh

He had a sickly guffawed Yung Jae ever heard. It was like whiny dogs who got beaten half-dead.

"Coward!" Yung Jae returned his guffaw. "I forgot. Weakling like you probably can't even kill a rabbit, let alone duel against me."

"Shut your crap. Yung Jae. Is that your name, right?" Choi Go craned a silver bow, and the man beside him carried a quiver full of arrows. "Say, do you like hunting?"

"Not really." Yung Jae answered. "I didn't use a bow so often, but I love playing with fire. You want to beat me with the help of these dogs?"

"Nah, that's too barbaric. How about we go hunting?" Choi Go pulled his bow. "I want to hunt a dog. Now, run, or I will order those men to ravage you."

Yung Jae glitter teeth. His grip on the dagger tilt tightened. "You seriously think high about yourself."

A cracking noise came from Choi Go's bow as he released a silver arrow. Yung Jae tilted a little. The arrow pierces his strand with a whistling noise.

Yung Jae dashed forward, hoping to land a fatal blow on Choi Go.

But before reaching his target, Yung Jae was forced to block another player's dagger. He pulled back. There was another clang as a dagger clashed with a sword that came from beside him. There was another war cry while the spear thrust him from behind.

Three players danced with Yung Jae—the dance of death. Yung Jae swiftly swung his dagger, put his feet in the right place for a counter, and blocked the enemy attack.

Clank and clank, and another whistling arrow came from Choi. He used [disarm] skill, hitting Yung Jae's arm, and he dropped his dagger. He lost half of his HP.

He tried to snatch it back, but another player stomped it and thrust his spear at Yung Jae's hand, but it missed and stabbed the ground instead.

"Run, dog, run!" Choi Go pulled his bow and prepared another silver arrow. He closes one eye, aimed at Yung Jae.

Yung Jae can't hide his worries anymore. He ran and ran, and everyone laughed, pursuing him. Yung Jae could hear a whinnied horse from behind. The rich bastard rode a horse.

A white horse with a red saddle, string with golded lash. There was never a horse rider on below level ten. He must have bought that from an item mall.

This was why Yung Jae despised Spender players. Especially those who use other people's credit cards and act like shit. It was unfair.

"Where are you trying to do, my prey!" Choi released another arrow, hitting a tree beside Yung Jae.

Choi Go laughed merrily. "Come here, come one. You want to P.K in me, right? Now, it is your chance! Come on, my prey, let us play together!"

Yung Jae tried to run toward the city, but many players blocked his way. He jabbed down and took a heavy turn. He slid over from the arrow, and it tucked into the ground.

Choi pulled his horse beside Yung Jae. The beast raised the front leg. Yung Jae rolled out, and the hoff stomped on the ground.

"Raise the gong, man, make my day!" Chou fucking Go yelled.

Hoong hoong hoong. They hammered the gong. The noise vibrated and burst into a wave-like succession of shrill and deep.

Hoong hong hoong. It came from almost every direction.

Hoong hoong hoong. Every time he heard that freaking noise, Yung Jae's adrenaline boiled up. His heartbeat rose, and he felt like a wild boar chased by a hunter.

Arrow pierced his shirt, his right chest. The pain was real, the sensation was true, and death awaited him. He used all of his HP potions to survive. Now, no more potion.

His health drained fast, now hanging on 10%.

He jolted to the left and ran, evading the arrow. He stopped, propelled to the right, ran, and rinsed. He can't do anything except run.

Except thought. He was still not giving up yet. He could run until the night, but he was unsure his legs could keep going.

If he ran to the Aventi hill, perhaps he could outrun the horse. Maybe he had a chance to disappear on a thick forest and dangerous path. The Monsters there were aggressive and high-level, and everybody must know that.

Yes, that was only his change.

The stars in the sky started to pop up. The moon moves to its throne. Thousands of fireflies and many glowing mushrooms showed the way for him.

Behind, gong noise spread terror. Their many torches light the forest.

Yung Jae hid himself behind the tree. He peeked. He kept his eyes open and ears strong.

"My Prey, hurry up! The main event will start in an hour!" Choi's desperate voice vibrated from the dark. "Alright, you ask for this. Everyone, find and kill him on the spot! There was a reward for you. Now, I must leave and meet my Chae Wo."

Yung Jae exhaled freely after knowing the bastard was gone for good.

The whistling arrow hit his leg. There was no gong, no torch. They use an assassin technique. It was more dangerous than the Choi Go hunting season.

Everyone now wanted to kill him. No more play hide and seek. They already knew where he hid, and his hP was 2% left.

Using his last stamina, Yung Jae ran and ran and ran. The houmous ground becomes harder to venture. The night was cruel to his eyes. The night gusts hit every inch of his bone.

From above, a player, slicing his sword, tried to tear Yung Jae into two. Luckily, he tilted and swung his leg and hammered the man's belly. Then he ran.

The gurped of the river could be heard from afar. The Aventi River cuts through forests and mountains. The river flows from south to west, originating in Naga territory and flowing to the Elvian domain.

The current was dangerous. Yung Jae followed the unknown in the hope of escaping. There was no turning back, as many players were hot on his tail.

The current stream ended on a high-rushing waterfall.

Yung Jae was trapped as the forest hid many players with swords and bows. His back was crowded with daggermen and crossbowmen.

"Now, who's going to slay me?" Yung Jae asked as he tried to push his breath down. He tried to gamble. Who knows if they started killing each other?

"You didn't know, did you? " The man pointed his sword at Yung Jae. "If one of us kills you, we all get the reward. Choi Go promised that. Not to who landed the last hit."

"Shit." Yung Jae murmured as he slowly regained his HP. Now it was at 7%.

Yung Jae knew death was coming. He would be offline for many days or even a week after dying. That would be a fatal blow to his gardening experience. He would be lost on the level.

But, If he jumped into the waterfall, would he die too? Or survive? His swimming skill was abysmal. He could hardly swim on a normal current, let alone on a strong current plus a waterfall.

Even if he died in a waterfall, those suckers can't claim their reward from Choi Go. That was a fine joke, a final jest from him.

"Any last words?" They raised their bows and crossbows and pointed at Yung Jae.

"I'll be back." He pointed his finger at everyone there. "For you, you, and you all. I hope you all wash your neck. They have an appointment with my dagger."

He turned and jumped to the waterfall.

"Shit, he jumped off!"

"Shoot, shoot him! Release everything! Shit, our prize!"

They released a rain of arrows on Yung Jae.

The waterfall was large and tall. There were many fireflies nearby, eliminating them. Yung Jae took an air and held himself before hitting the water below him.
