"He's from South Korea and his mother passed away recently. He's 27 and graduated with the highest scores in high school. He got first place in the academy and has the highest salary out of his group. Min Yoongi catches every immigrant that tries to pass the border and their leader. He's the smartest one and fastest." Jimin informed Ren.
Ren squinted her eyes and crossed her arms. "This dude is more dangerous than I thought."
Jimin laughed really loud. "You scared?"
"I think I'll have to fire his ass. What do you think?" Ren asked as she knew she had to be more careful.
"You're faster though. Don't worry about him. He's probably just another loser from the group." Jimin assured her.
"This is from his resume or documents?" Ren asked.
Jimin smiled. "Both."
"Yeah we need to fire him soon." Ren nodded.
Jimin laughed again. "You can't."
Ren sighed. "I know... But we need to keep our eyes open. I mean he is onto me and seems interested."
Jimin nodded with a smirk. "Very interested."
"Any other relatives?" Ren asked.
"No. So, we can't threaten his family." Jimin joked with her.
Ren thought about help but stopped by Jimin's voice. "Let's see where this takes us. Maybe, you're just overreacting."
"Sure, I am!" Ren sarcastically said.
Tae knocked and came in with the 4 guys.
"You guys ready?" Ren asked.
"A girl is getting us over?" One of the men asked.
Ren informed them aggressively as she looked at her trash can and then back at them. "Don't like it then you can fuckin leave and go back from where you came from."
Tae tried not to smile.
"Oh you have an attitude." He replied.
"Doesn't matter if I do or don't. What matters if I'll get your ass across the border. Don't you think? I mean if you can think before speaking." Ren tried not to roast him to much but it was hard.
She then added. "It'll be a long night as there will be a storm and a new border patrol agent will be around."
"So, it's risky?" Another one asked.
"Everything is risky and nothing is easy in life. Get used to it." Ren said as she walked to her room to change outfits and get ready for that storm.
Tae later came in. "You sure you got this."
"Don't question me. You know I don't like that shit." Ren said as she checked her phone.
"Jimin told me about the new agent."
"Honestly, no one fears him and no one cares about him." Ren was pissed.
"Well, you sound like you fear him and care." Tae examined her.
"Oh shut up and come up with something to get rid of him." She rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"We'll have our eyes on him. I'm sure he won't hurt you."
"Tae he arrested me."
Tae sighed as he thought and said. "I'll get J-hope to help me hack into his system to see everything he's doing.
"Just keep an eye on him." Ren said before getting ready to leave with the men.
"Let's go guys!" She shouted as she clapped her hands together. Ren got her raincoat that felt like a trash bag and looked like one too but in dark green.
"What route are we taking?" A guy asked.
"Which ever one doesn't have border patrol agents." Ren answered as they walked outside. "Stay near just in case I hear or see something." She added.
Tae said from behind. "Don't be to harsh Ren. You guys are going hiking for awhile and then you'll pass a river. Then off to your freedom."
Soon, they couldn't see the house they were once at and the journey began as well as the strong wind.
"Shouldn't we stop?" A male voice asked.
"If you speak loud like that again were all dead and no. There's no stopping until you're on the other side safe." Ren informed them all. "Watch your steps cause there could be traps or animals around ready to eat us." She added.
For a very long time they walked through the mountains as rain poured over them but that didn't stop her. It did get cold but they had to be on the other side before the sun came out. Ren hair was dripping like she was taking a shower and her shoes seemed to get a little heavier on her. Puddles formed and made it hard to see the path. However, she had it memorized from the back of her head.
"Ah!" A man shouted as it seemed he almost dislocated his foot.
Ren turned back. "Hush! Watch your step I said." She continued to walk and the man shacked the burning feeling away.
"Ok guys listen. All you have to do is cross this river and that's the USA. You need to swim over and hurry up. Before it gets deeper and stronger. If you don't the river will drag you down and it'll kill you. If it doesn't the crocodiles will but I'm sure there's none now." Ren informed them as she hugged herself from the wind and rain.
"This is crazy!" A man almost shouted as he rubbed his eyes with his fingers.
Ren grew mad as they knew the risks of this and they still accepted. Did people think it was easy or a joke to pass the border?
"HEY! WHO'S THERE?!" A male voice shouted.
"Go!" Ren whispered as she ran the other way and hope she wouldn't be seen.
She was able to hide and see the 4 guys cross successfully. Their was border patrols trying to catch them but it was impossible as the guys were on the opposite side of the river now. It was to dangerous at this point to even think about swimming to the other side. You would be crazy if you did. Ren walked back a different path which she hated as it was the longer path and there was more dead bodies than usual. People sometimes got lost and starved to death. Others got left behind or ditched. By the time she made it onto the crusty road the cleaners was right across from her. Just where she wanted it to be and a thankful smile appeared on her lips. The sun was finally beginning to wake up and she headed inside.
"Hey, Rosy you got my clothes in the back?" Ren asked.
"Yeah girl. Rough night I see..." Rosy checked out her half wet clothes.
"Others are worse." Ren said as she looked down at her outfit.
"Go change before you get sick." Rosy ordered and Ren heard the bell ring hit against the door. She didn't look back as she was a hot mess and headed to the back to change. Ren slide the curtain around as if she was getting ready to try a wedding dress infront of the mirror.
"Fuck, I look like shit." Ren gazed at her face as it was very filthy. She quickly changed and went to the bathroom to wash her face. Ren never really wore make up as she usually was in a hot mess. People usually mistaken her as a 15 year old but with a mind of an older person.
Rosy came to the back looking for some clothes very frustrated.
"What's wrong?" Ren asked concerned.
"I can't find these clothes." Rosy whispered kind of upset as you had to worry if clothes were missing.
"I'll help you find it. What's the number?" Ren asked softly.
"3452"
Ren looked on the other side as Rosy on the other and Ren laughed.
"You must of had a worse night then me cause I already found it." Ren held up the ticket in her hand.
Rosy pouted. "Ah! I can't believe this. I already had looked through there."
Ren went to the front with the clothes and hanged it up on the rack to count.
"Hey! Sorry, I forgot I brought you girls some breakfast and left it in my truck."
Ren looked at the familiar voice and chuckled.
"You have to be kidding me." Ren blushed.
"Oh, Ren you work here?" Yoongi asked.
Ren looked at the dark green border patrol outfits that she just hanged up and looked at her ticket.
"No, I just seemed to help out my friend here." Ren answered as she read the name of the customer on the ticket "Min Yoongi."
"Oh you guys know each other?" Rosy asked.
"Meet my arrestor." Ren said with a big sarcastic smile across her face.
Yoongi looked at her annoyed. "I'm sorry but you shouldn't be hiding in abandoned buildings."
Ren rolled her eyes. "Okay, Rosy. I'm leaving. Drink your coffee and donuts Mr. Arrestor got you."
Ren did a peace sign before leaving the cleaners.
