"Mom! Be careful. You can hurt yourself!" Ren shouted as she went into the house.
"Oh honey! I'm only 84 years old." She teased her.
Ren sighed. "I'm sorry. I'm late. I bumped into those border patrol people."
"What?! Be careful!" She gasped but then remembered Ren is free to go back and forth. "Oh wait. Why do I worry? I should worry for myself." Her mother laughed afterwards.
Ren sighed and said. "Honestly, sometimes I forget I'm from the USA. It just feels like I'm a immigrant running all the time from them like if I killed someone..."
"Well, don't run." She smiled.
"Mom? Did you forget about my job?" Ren asked her as she wanted to laugh.
"No of course not. You sell bread to American's and Mexican's." She said with a sweet smile.
Ren clapped her hands. "Wow! Amazing, you just won the best acting award."
They both laughed and Ren got the flour from the top shelf.
"So, is something new going on?"
"Like what?" Ren asked confused.
"In the border. I never heard you sound kind of worried."
"I'm not. This dude just pushes my buttons."
"Dude?" Her mother was now worried for sure.
"I keep bumping into him."
"Oh this is a sign."
"Oh my... mom! Don't start please!" Ren was already annoyed.
"Honey, listen to me. That boy will get us in serious problems."
"You sound like I like him!"
She just glared at Ren. I mean it was her daughter after all and knew her better than anyone. She may be an immigrant but that doesn't mean she's stupid.
Ren gasped. "What?! You think I like him."
"Not now but you will."
Ren just held her head. "Are you craz-"
Her mother almost smacked her with her flip-flop. "What?!"
Ren chuckled. "Nothing."
"Mothers know everything. Just beware of him."
"Mom! He works for the BORDER PATROL! HE'S AN AGENT AND IS DANGEROUS!" Ren informed her.
Her mother smiled. "Oh. I see you already looked him up and everything."
"He arrested me and that's why I looked him up. Well, Jimin did but still."
"He arrested you?!" Her mother almost had a heart attack.
Ren completely forgot she can't tell her everything. "Oh sorry! Well, he couldn't charge me of anything. You know they can't. I'm clean."
"Ren... I don't like this. I think you should stop..."
"What?! Are you craz-..." Ren stopped and changed her wording. "I can't stop. These people cross over to have a better life like us. You're one of them. Don't be like this." Ren begged her.
She sighed and said "Yeah, as long as you don't be putting your life in danger. Ren this is all illegal and I don't want to see you in jail."
"I won't go. I never been caught. I been doing this since I was like 13 years old. I know how to cross these people safely and I do every time."
"Ren your 24 years old and to young to die or go to jail. If I find out that your in jail you'll kill me of a heart attack and my people will be devastated of having no bread in their kitchen."
Ren laughed and said. "Mom? Are you being serious right now?"
"I am! What?! You think my bread isn't good?!" She was getting ready to smack Ren on the head.
"No! That's not what I meant..." Ren smiled as she got away from her.
"All I'm saying is that boy is trouble and I don't want to see you sad later on. Just think about how he put you in jail imagine later on..."
"Don't worry about it. I won't ever see him again."
Ren mom just gazed at her as it seemed like Ren didn't know nothing about loving a guy. She worried how things would turn out for Ren and Yoongi.
"Take these bags to the addresses I wrote on the bags. It says how much they owe me and if it doesn't have a price then it was already paid." Ren mom informed her as she got on her bike to leave.
Later, that night when she was done coming back and forth with orders. Ren was finally able to relax in her bed like the old times.
"Ren?"
"Hm?"
"How long you staying in the states?"
"Maybe, a few more days. Why?" Ren asked her mom with concern.
"Why don't you just stay here and we can make our own bakery?"
"Mom... You know that isn't my dream but if you want it. I can make it happen." Ren sat up.
"I don't think you should continue in that route."
"This makes me happy... I love doing this and making others happy." Ren smiled trying to convince her mom.
"Is it about the money?"
"What? No... It's just that's my business. The guys are over there and-"
"Ren, I get it but just be careful."
"Don't worry. I'll be ok." Ren smiled as she hugged her mother.
Around, two weeks went by and it was time for Ren to leave and go back to Mexico.
"Honey, take some bread with you and water." Ren's mother gave her a bag filled with bread.
"Why so much bread? You act like it'll take me centuries to get to Mexico." Ren laughed.
"For the boys silly!" Her mom informed her.
"Ohhhhh." Ren laughed.
"Be careful crossing the border and don't get involved with any gangs again."
"Mom..." Ren looked annoyed.
"You may go now." She smiled at her and Ren hugged her goodbye.
Ren left on a bus with other people and got ready to cross. They did the inspection process by checking everyone's passport but everyone was forced to get off.
"Why are they searching the bus?" Ren asked a man that was standing next to her.
"I think they are looking for drugs."
"Ugh." Ren complained.
She crossed her arms and looked around. Ren saw alot of border patrol agents but none were Yoongi. She remembered the last time she saw him.
"Isn't that your bag they're taking?" The man asked Ren.
Ren turned around to look and gasp.
"Hey! That's my bag!" Ren ran towards the guy that was taking her bag.
The guy turned around and asked. "This is your bag?"
"Yeah, that's my bag." Ren glared at him and he looked at her.
"Come with me then."
"What? Why?" Ren furrowed her eyebrows.
He walked away and she shouted. "Hey!"
Ren went after him and they went inside the border patrol office.
"What's in this bag?"
"It's bread." Ren was getting upset as she looked out the window and saw the people going back into the bus.
"I don't know about that."
"Excuse me! It's bread." Ren assured him. She looked at his name tag and then glared at him.
He opened the bag.
"What the fuck do you think your doing?!" Ren stood up from her seat.
"Sit down or I'll arrest you." He glared at her.
Ren sat back down and said. "You can't go through my shit like that."
"When I think it's something bad I can." He informed her.
He looked inside and grabbed a round piece of bread.
"Your touching it with your bare hands! Have respect! You already saw it's bread. So, don't touch it!" Ren shouted at him.
He dropped it on the floor and Ren eyes widen.
"Oops." He sarcastically said.
Ren quickly stood up and heard the bus leave from behind. She turned to look and it did leave.
"Look what you fuckin did! My bus just left!" Ren was furious at this point.
The guy crushed the bread and ignored her.
"WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!"
"I'm checking if it has drugs in it."
"Your crazy! This is all clean! Give me my bag back!" She ordered him.
He just laughed at her.
Some other guy came in and whispered "Simon what are you doing? Your going to get in trouble."
Simon pulled him to the side. "I'm just having a little bit of fun."
"Just let her go." He whispered.
Ren quickly got her bag and hugged it. Simon turned around and glared at her.
"I didn't say you could take that back." Simon was mad.
"I didn't tell you to grab it either." Ren talked back.
The other guy said. "Sorry, about this. You can go."
"I was going to leave anyways." Ren made her way to the door but stopped infront of Simon. "I hate you." She glared at him before leaving the office.
"I can arrest you for that!" He yelled from behind.
Ren rolled her eyes as she was so pissed and crossed the street without looking. She almost got hit by the truck and she didn't even seem to flinch.
"Hey, you ok?" The male voice asked.
Ren turned to look at who it was and she bit her lip in anger.
"What's wrong with you? Are you ok? You look angry."
"Your coworker is an asshole! He literally took one of my breads and crushed it on the ground. I really hate the border patrol agents. You guys are pathetic!"
"Woah! Calm down. Who did this?"
"Aren't you the leader Yoongi?! Shouldn't you be in there navigating what the hell is going on in there. Is this how you guys treat people in there? You guys make me sick!" Ren began to walk away.
"Wait hold on! Who did this? I'll punish who ever did that." He held her by her arm.
Ren pulled back and said. "Figure it out!"
Ren left walking away with her bag of bread very upset and Yoongi went back into his truck to pull up to the office.
