You Are Hot

Chris stared at Elsa not knowing how he would answer her question since he was not sure what she was too.

"Elsa, I want to know what are you as well. However, that glow on your wrist is similar to what I heard from my teacher. I can smell that you are human just like the mages in my world. The divine mages in Zemaria, have healing powers just like yours, but I have not seen it with my own eyes, so I don't know what it looks like." Chris explained as Elsa listened attentively.

"Zemaria? You mentioned that before."

"Yes, that's the human kingdom in my world. Hera is from there and she is a divine mage. There are very few divine mages in my world for they are the chosen ones. Divine power can only be inherited, it cannot be learned or acquired."

Chris then saw Elsa's eyes widen in astonishment as if she had figured out a puzzle.

"Does that mean I am a divine mage too?" Elsa wondered.

"There's a high chance that you are. And that's one indication that you might really be related to Princess Hera. Either you are her or she's your mom."

Elsa dropped her jaw and covered her mouth with both hands. She saw Chris furrowed his eyebrows and suddenly grabbed her right hand.

Chris saw blood trickle on her arm the moment she lifted it and they both saw the extent of the damage of her power to herself.

Elsa had forgotten that she had seen it bleeding earlier since she was too happy about Nuri's super fast recovery who is now out of sight. She joined the others while Elsa and Chris were talking to avoid Chris' interrogation.

Chris stares at the shape of her wound as he thinks deeply. "Does it always look like this?"

"No, it was only glowing before. There was no shape." Elsa answered as she stared at her wrist as well.

"Tsk, this will scar. Does it hurt?" Chris sounded worried and it did not go unnoticed by Elsa.

"A bit but not too much."

Chris pointed at the middle of the wound and said, "This part here looks like a wolf. Hmm… this actually looks similar to the mating mark."

"Mating mark?"

"When werewolves marry, they mark their other half to form a mating bond. But it's usually done on one's shoulder or neck. The couple will bear the same unique mark and will have the same scent. Non-werewolves will automatically know that they are husband and wife once they see their mark." Chris explained in detail.

"Do divine mages have marks like this too?"

"I am not sure too… Princess, I think we should cover your wound. It might get infected."

"You're right. I'll get some ointment then," Elsa and Chris both stood up. She unexpectedly feels lightheaded and quickly clings to Chris' arm for support.

Chris caught her at the same time, "Woah, you are hot."

"I already know that I am pretty and sexy, no need to tell me that," Elsa sarcastically answered. She can't believe that he is still flirting with her when she already feels sick.

"No, not that. I think you have a fever." Chris did not wait for her reply and swiftly carried her to her room.

Elsa did not protest for she admits to herself that she needed that. Her surroundings are spinning, similar to what she felt in the shed only this time it's worse.

"Chris, can you do me a favor? Please get my first aid kit under my desk." Elsa requested as soon as Chris made her sit on her bed.

"Of course, anything for you," Chris was about to go to Elsa's desk but paused, "What is a first aid kit?"

Elsa laughed heartily. She remembered that Chris was not from her world and found it funny that he was willing to obey her even if he didn't know that she was asking of him.

Chris smirked, fully smitten by her laugh, and unconsciously uttered, "Pretty…" making Elsa stop laughing.

"Erm, it's a white box with a red cross on top. The wound ointment and bandage are in there."

Chris was snapped out of his daydream and moved from his spot to retrieve the box Elsa was referring to.

After cleaning and dressing Elsa's wound, he touched her forehead and felt that she was still hot. He headed to the bathroom to fetch some water and towels.

Upon his return, he discovered that she had already drifted off to sleep. He proceeded to lay the damp towel on her forehead and remained by her side, periodically using the towel to help bring down her fever.

Chris remained awake throughout the night, keeping a watchful eye on her as he monitored her temperature every now and then while she slept.

As the first light of dawn crept in, Chris noticed Elsa's restless movements. She was shifting her head from side to side, appearing to be caught in a troubling dream. Seeing her distressed state, he made the decision to gently awaken her.

"Elsa, please wake up. Elsa..." Chris softly urged, giving her arm a gentle shake.

Elsa, still in a slumber, mumbled, "Hot… it's hot… so hot!" She sounded panicked and disoriented.

Chris sensed Elsa's skin growing increasingly hotter, causing him to give her a more vigorous shake. "Elsa, please wake up!" he implored.

"AHH!" With a sudden, startled scream, Elsa jolted awake, her eyes wide open.

'What the...' Chris was taken aback as he observed her amber eyes flare up, almost as if they were ablaze before she lost consciousness once more.

The door to her room suddenly swung open, and Dr. Arden appeared. Swiftly, he carried Elsa to the bathroom, gently positioning her inside the bathtub. He promptly turned on the faucet and adjusted it to a cold temperature.

Confused by the unfolding situation, Chris trailed behind them and watched Dr. Arden's actions closely. Dr. Arden used the handheld showerhead to spray cold water onto Elsa's head, eyes, neck, and shoulders while they waited for the tub to fill.

Chris, growing increasingly uneasy, mustered the courage to question Ambros boldly, "What's happening here? What aren't you telling me?"
