Weary Heart (Part 2) - response

Friend, I hear your weary heart,

And the pain of dreams apart.

Disappointment dogged relentless,

Left you lost and acquiescence.

But I say do not resign,

Nor leave hope behind to pine.

It oft comes and goes like tides,

But in time again abides.

When it seems most distant and gone,

It's growing hopeful seeds long sown.

Patience friend, do not deter,

Trust hope will return better.

I know trust is hard to defend,

When hope played false friend in the end.

Yet wise voices oft attest,

Hope reborn shines brighter tempered.

If you bar the door discouraged,

You may miss its return encouraged.

Keep a candle lit in the night,

To welcome hope's returning light.

I will sit with you there in the dark,

And we'll tend hope's ember spark.

When a breeze comes we'll fan the fire,

Till hope burns bright and rises higher.

Then we'll walk those paths anew,

With lessons learned to see us through.

Move ahead more wise than before,

Hope our compass to guide us sure.

So do not resign yourself there my friend,

This is not yet the end.

Hope will find you once again,

If you leave the door unbarred for it to wend.
