A Guest From Afar ( 2 )

"The price of grains has increased lately because most areas had failed harvests during the summer. The food shortage still hasn't been resolved, so it's normal for prices to be that high," Li Lingyun said casually.

"Even so, that's too expensive," Jiang Ziyu added.

After securing the bags on the cart with a rope, Li Lingyun handed a bamboo bottle and two scallion pancakes wrapped in oil paper to his friend.

"My wife made these. Eat something to fill your stomach first. I will cook a meal for you when we get back to my house," he said.

Holding the food, Jiang Ziyu sat in the back seat and said, "I still don't understand why your wife agreed to marry you, an old man."

Hearing this, Li Lingyun glared at his friend and reached out to snatch the food back while saying, "I see that you still have energy to talk and don't need my food."
