Chapter 8 – Dinner Time

Asuka's pov

At 7 in the evening, me and Niko are cooking a delicious dinner with some chefs from the house staff. We taught those chefs some cooking techniques so they would cook more efficiently and differently. Akihito and Aki are at the dining table waiting. After some time, me and Niko came to the dining table with a big bowl of delicious and hot clam chowder, which comes with some pieces of carrots, potatoes, and shrimp. The two assassins are stunned to see that version of ours.

"This is our father's signature dish," I said to them, before me and Niko sit down.

Curious about its taste, Akihito grabbed a ladle and get some of that delicious soup and put it in his ceramic bowl, before passing the ladle to his twin sister.

After Aki get some, the two assassins slurped on that soup along with some pieces of potatoes and crab meat, only to be very allured by its unique and flavorful taste.

I then asked how it was.

"This is so delightfully delicious!" Akihito exclaimed in response.

"This clam chowder is the best!" Aki added.

Feeling being appreciated, me and Niko get some of our own dish and tasted it, only to feel such nostalgic memories with our parents.

After that, Akihito and Aki revealed to us about their day at school, despite me being in the same class as them.

I then understood their lack of friends, and offers to be a friend to them, only at school.

But Akihito shunned that idea because he wants to keep that blood pact a confidential secret.

Realizing that, I agreed with him, so as Niko.

After dinner, Niko is washing the dishes while I wiped the table clean with a housekeeper.

Akihito and Aki, meanwhile, are at their separate rooms doing their homework.

After our night chores, me and Niko brushed our teeth, and went to our shared room to do our old night routine, which consisted of doing homework, journaling, reading a few pages, and watching some videos on the internet. Later at 9:44 p.m., as Niko was asleep, I was on my bed staring at the ceiling, thinking about my new life as a slave to a rich family of assassins.

"Yeah, I loved this life," I thought to himself.
