The Battle of Mind and Heart

The prince realized that he had truly fallen in love with her when they first met. Maybe because he loves her, he decided to make her his captive to keep her close.

Since there is a part of Ling Yutu that wants her to stay by his side, he found a nicer way to be with Muyan longer.

While thinking too much, Yutu cleared his throat and looked at her with a very cold expression.

"I will bring you to my hidden house. You're not allowed to go home. I am a prince, and you must follow my order if you don't want to die." He said with a scary tone of voice while using his prince card.

He really doesn't want Muyan to be out of his sight; hence, he became quite resourceful by scaring her.

Muyan thinks that her plan to attract him really worked. Based on his actions, she could tell that the man was attracted to her, and this is the reason why she was saved from death.

"My prince charming is there. Thanks for the blessing of our heavenly father." She said in her mind while smiling secretly.

While the Yutu gazed at her, he realized that he had never seen such a perfect face before. He had promised himself long ago that he would marry the most beautiful woman in their world, and he knew that she was the one.

Anyway, Yutu immediately ordered the wind to take them to his secret hide, where they could stay and remain hidden, allowing him to have Muyan all to himself every day.

Upon reaching a private house, Ling Yutu whispered something to his ring, causing the appearance of a servant's clothes right in front of them.

He slowly handed them to Muyan.

"Wear this, fake princess." He said.

Muyan looked at what Ling Yutu was holding.

She raised her left eyebrow when she realized that this guy wanted her to become his servant.

Despite everything, she decided not to complain because she actually wanted to take care of this handsome man for the rest of her life.

"I hate you!" She said in her mind while smirking at Yutu.

Curious about Muyan's life, Ling Yutu quickly touched Muyan because he wanted to know if she was truly a princess.

He gaslighted himself by thinking that what Muyan said about being a princess was unreal.

He's hoping right now that the girl he found was an ordinary immortal. And if it's true that she's a princess, he hopes that she's an ordinary one.

He can't really kill her, but if she belongs to a high rank, maybe he couldn't control himself to do the unwanted thing.

However, he uses his power right now, which allows him to see all the events related to the person he is interested in. He would use it to discover Muyan's true origin.

As Ling Yutu used his power of truth, he suddenly saw the recent conversation between Muyan and the empress of the Dong Clan.

He realized that it had happened before Muyan left their kingdom. Ling Yutu clenched his fist in anger when he saw something he didn't like.

He found out that the girl he was with would be the next leader of his enemies, and preparations were already underway for her ascension.

Yutu was now angry with himself, realizing his foolishness as a prince of the Demon Clan.

It would have been easy for him to eliminate their enemies when the time for battle came, but that would only happen if he killed the girl beside him, who was destined to be the leader of the Dong Clan.

Should he kill Muyan then?

After all, he had already killed everyone who dared to challenge him since he enacted the law that anyone who approached his territory would be killed. Although he found Muyan beautiful and attractive, he probably couldn't make an exception for her on the list of those he intended to kill.

Ling Yutu was about to command the wind to bring the powerful dao sword back to his hands, but suddenly he found himself again unable to kill the girl.

Why was he hesitating now? Why couldn't he bring himself to directly spill the princess's blood? Was it because he realized earlier that he might have fallen in love with her and didn't want her out of his sight? What was the best choice? To keep her alive for his own benefit? Or to kill her to ensure the Demon Clan's success and their easy conquest of their enemies at the right time?

The prince of the Demon Clan was now confused. He might as well just kill the clueless captive girl.

Well, love seemed useless to him since none of his peers, especially his parents, ever showed him any love. It could be the perfect reason not to be affected by what Muyan showed him earlier. Perhaps it was just an act to avoid being killed.

Moreover, he was known in their world as an immortal who couldn't love, so he couldn't possibly have any affection for another immortal.

"I will never let her fool me. Not even once! She can't skip while she's in my hand." He said to himself and began to laugh loudly while raising his two hands.

He put down his hands and thought about how to end the girl's life.

Yutu was ecstatic right now because once the future ruler was gone, he could quickly take his parents' place.

He had long desired to become the leader of the Demon Clan. Muyan's life was the only thing standing in the way of achieving his dream, so he decided to end her life now.

The darkness within him took over, and he felt an overwhelming desire to kill the girl.

He approached the princess in anger and grabbed her violently.

After pulling her close, he reached for his powerful dao sword, using the wind's assistance.

Once it was in his hand, he didn't hesitate to wound Muyan's neck. However, he didn't kill her outright; instead, he wanted to make her suffer for a while.

"Die for me, Princess Muyan!" He shouted loudly. His eyes widened while he looked at the poor girl.

Muyan immediately held her neck with her hand and saw the blood flowing from her wound.

Fear was evident on her face, and tears started streaming down her cheeks. She wondered if this might be the end of her life.

But then, unexpectedly, Muyan collapsed to the floor, unconscious.

For some unknown reason, Ling Yutu suddenly let go of his grip on the dao sword because he suddenly felt that his heart tightened when he saw Muyan lying on the floor, bleeding.

He didn't know why, but he felt a surge of compassion for her. He couldn't bear to see the princess, who was now his captive, in danger.

Frustrated, Ling Yutu pulled his hair with both hands. His heart was obstructing his long-desired dream.

Even though his mind repeatedly told him to choose his ambition of becoming a future ruler of the Demon Clan, his heart wanted something else. And it chose the princess over anything else.

Finally, in the battle between his heart and mind, he chose his heart.
